  1. I think it's a great idea and I voted to post it. I'd much rather see it posted as it is than posted as a MOCache. I don't see any problem with giving someone a little extra "incentive" to visit all the counties in your state. A visitor to the state couldn't necessarily log the cache but as for a newbie...some hard work on their part and they certainly could; and after logging your cache they'd hardly be considered newbies! Sure is tough trying to figure out what is "elitist" around here.

Probably better in steaming hot central Illinois than here in Hotter-than-Hades Phoenix! Seriously though, it's a really cool idea. Please keep us all posted on how things work out if you do it! Thanks!

I called the toll-free number above last week and was told the campground we planned to visit was included in a National Forest closure here in Arizona. We checked the website and didn't think the campground was included. The information we received from calling the number above was incorrect. A quick call to the appropriate Ranger District confirmed that the campground was, indeed, open. They also said that your calls may go to a call center where they don't have the most up-to-date information...or they may have no idea where you're asking about. I'm glad I called the Ranger District. May have cost me a dollar or two but we had a great camping weekend!

Heaven forbid anyone else think otherwise. quote:If you don't like them ... ignore them. If you find this thread so irritating, perhaps it's best to follow your own advice! Ignore it!
  6. but if you're an advanced scuba diver, Rapture of the Deep by The Artful Dodger could be just what you're looking for!
  7. I hope you get a response soon. I'm still waiting for a reply to an e-mail I sent to geocaching.com on the 9th of April! I sent a follow-up e-mail asking again for a reply on the 16th of April. Still nothing. Sure seems like a long time to wait. But then again, I'm just a lowly geocacher.

  15. to the wonderful world of Geocaching! quote:Originally posted by David S. Costantino:#1. Do you think I should settle down a little before I jump into the world of geocaching? Nah, stay excited, it’s more fun that way. quote:#2. What is a good GPS unit to purchase for a newbie who has 3 kids who will want to learn to read it? We use a Garmin III+ but there will be others to reply with lots of good advice. quote:#3. Where should I get this unit? Can I get it online, or shoul I get it locally and get a warrantee with it? Yes, you can get your GPSr unit online, that’s where we found a great price for our Garmin III+. quote:#4. How long have you fols been doing this? I don't consider myself a putz so I can't understand why I haven't heard of this before. I would guess It got much easier in 2000. We started in January of 2002 so we haven’t been at this long. Since we started, no less than 19 countries have been added and at least 150 new caches in our state. Have fun and WELCOME to Geocaching!

  18. I sent you mail that may help. Just remember, if you're putting this in your signature line, log out and then log back in after you've changed it in your profile. It'll work then...I hope!

  20. Boy, the numbers sure do jump around. Last night was 10,000 on the button but this morning was back down to 9,900 something. Now back up past 10,000. We gain 'em, we lose 'em, we gain 'em.
  21. in MHO, it's trash. How did this get approved? I wonder...
  22. I think you did the right thing. Definately no need to hang around a drunk with a sickle...looking for his machete! I'm all for adventure but not at that kind of a price! I'd probably have done just as you did...grab the cache and return it later.
