  1. My ex is traveling to Italy next week and will be in Milan staying near the Giardini Indro Montaneli and has agreed to take a geocoin with him to drop off while in the country. Is there any that you can recommend that are easy to find and big enough to fit a geocoin in, and aren't too far from this location? Thanks!!!
  2. Have any of you done the Coastal Castle Caches? Do they lead to some neat castles?
  3. Wow, these are great suggestions so far! Keep them coming! After I have a good idea of what areas to check out, I'm going to see if we can rent a cottage that is kind of central to them. Probably change locations a few times. I have my son and daughter, and my mom and sister going as well. Makes more sense to rent a cottage. My sister is also a geocacher so she'll be excited to hear about the event as well! These are great suggestions!
  4. Wow! I can't believe our luck! Have it on my watch list! Any more suggestions?
  5. Actually that was the time period I'm looking at! Didn't even know about the Mega Event!!!! Is there a GC code for it yet? Brenda (Silvermoose)
  6. We're going to be visiting Scotland, England and Wales next summer (late summer) and I'm in the planning stage right now. I know that geocaches often take you to out of the way, undiscovered treasures that the guidebooks never mention. I would love it if any of you could give me some ideas of places not to miss, and especially caches that are memorable (whether for the cache itself, or the location, etc). We love castles, gardens, scenery, history, you name it. I figure you are all the best ones to offer up advice on this! Thanks Silvermoose (Brenda)
  7. I agree! My gps is far from accurate. I am lucky if I get within 20 feet! Even if someone seeking a cache has a super gps, you have to remember the coords are only as good as the gps that were used to take the hiding coords with. I try to make sure I take multiple readings to get it as accurate as possible, but when finding, I don't have that option.
  8. Hmm, now Fledermaus, at the risk of facing your ire, think about what moving a cache means. Doesn't necessarily mean moving a long distance away from where the coordinates are. But perhaps moving them after a number of people found it, just a short distance from the original placement. Coordinates would still get you in the general area, but if someone else has found it already, then it makes it more complicated for them to pass the info on. Does this sound familiar?
  9. Well, guess what! Another cache container of mine has gone missing! One I have already replaced before, and it was found once, and now is gone. Just like with the Moose the Vampire Slayer. This one is Moose's Guide to Edible plants. Twice now! Going to try the suggestions here. Either disable it for a month, then replace it but make it premium. Or, archive it and move it down the other trail. I really like that container, and it isn't easily replaced. Still haven't gotten the Vampire Slayer replaced as that has disappeared twice. Very frustrated. I'm thinking that archiving it might be better as they probably already know where it was. ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
  10. I was hoping there would be a way to see who has it on their watchlist as the last time I replaced one of my containers, it was out for only a few days, found by only 2 people, before it was taken again. I figure they had to have been watching it. It's so frustrating!
  11. Is there a way as owner, to see who is watching a cache?
  12. They aren't really in the same place. My Edible plants one is one of them. Thats up in Port Gamble. Which was nowhere near the main trail, so I really don't think a muggle would have found and taken that one. My Vampire Slayer has now been taken twice. It's in Silverdale. I am trying to decide whether to change the container, or get another one. Getting kind of expensive. Also, my Spring showers was taken. That's one of the kids' birthday caches, and the other one, Birthday at the Cine-Moose disappeared as well. The nano part, not the tin. Thats in Poulsbo. Guess I need to find one of those tiny cameras.............

  14. I've only posted once before on the forums, so I'm hoping that this is a good place to discuss this topic, but I wanted to know if anyone else has been missing cache containers lately? And if it's normal to have to replace 5 of your cache containers in a less than 2 month period? We only have 13 caches, so this seems pretty high to me. We really enjoy hiding caches, but it is getting expensive to keep replacing them! One of them, I replaced, and after only 2 more cachers got to find it, it's gone again. Has anyone else been having trouble? Or maybe this is personal, but I can't think of anyone that we would have offended lately.
  15. Wow! That is a fantastic list! Definitely taking some of those with me! Thanks!!!!!! Silvermoose
  16. Going into a dangerous area is just what I'm worried about. I'm going to look up both of your suggestions! Keep them coming!
  17. Hi everyone! We're traveling out to Washington DC and Alexandria, VA towards the beginning of November, and would really appreciate any help I can get from you guys concerning most memorable caches, ones to hit if you have only time for a few......... We are going to the zoo, and probably to the National Mall to hit a few museums. Don't know what else. Maybe old town Alexandria????? Part of the time it's just me and my two young kids, so need something fairly safe. Thanks to all that can help!!!!!
  18. We would love to go to something like that! I was just on here looking to see if there is anything in November or December! If you schedule it, we will be there!!!!!! Silvermoose
