  1. Anyone has some calibrated maps of afghanistan, or just of area around Kabul? friend of mine is going there for a mission and going to take his palm and GPS with him and it would be nice to suply him with some map for better orientation(I do not think he will be loking for caches there ). It can be any calibrted map, vector or raster, I have no problem with converting it to right format thanks in advance
  2. the changes are interesting, BUT please put it back as was before - the way how was the pictures, uploaded to the listing by author of the caches, showed in the listing ? I put them in listing where I want by using simple HTML tag, but they are there again at the bottom of the listing and it is not looking good, also in so many listing there are photo hints, and lot of people dont want to see them rightaway or at least try get them smaller size like it is done with photos in logs, so geocachers will see them only when they want.
  3. Yes I am using aquapack for my Palm PDA during bad wheather and I am very satisfied with it, no problem so far.
  4. I am using Pathaway nearly from the begining, when I started caching, to get as near as possible the cache, but there I have to change the app to another which have an arrow which will led me to the cache. In the latest version 4 of pathaway, there is Compass view where you have an arrow, So I thought that I can use it for tha last part and most important of searching cache, but I am unable to set it right to force the arrow to point to the cache. Somebody was succesfull more than me? thanks in advance
  5. Hi I'm using Pathaway quit long time and I am content with it. Path away is the best soft when you are walking to the cache - thanx to this soft you go by path and not to cross throught every scrubs nearby:) because raster maps can be far more detailed so you choose the right path for you. BUT that can be a problem as wildlifewriter wrote You have to have MAPS, easiest way is to buy them from some local cartographical society, which can give you them at least in image format along with calibration file, if they not already give you the pathaway format (the image format can be easily converted for pathaway by Touratech QV). Or there is more dificult way by scan paper maps and calibrate them using TTQV and some internet maps where you can get coordinates of some points. It also have nice points, tracks and routes management. alsou there is some issues, which I do not know how to solve. -first when you get to the cache or nearby there is a View called compass view where you cen switch map to the arrow which should leed you to the cache, but I am unable to convince the arrow to show me the dirrection.(SOMEBODY know how to solv it ?????) - second you can't store info about caches in pathAway, there is only small note where you can't have long description. So you have to use an other program, I am using GeoNiche
  6. I dont think that GEONICHE is complicated, It is true that you have to do a lot of setings at the begining, but after that there is no problem and it is simply to use. you just download .loc file from geocaching.com with waypoints, load it with desktop and choose which information do you want have like hints, logs etc. and it will make you pdb file which you sync to palm. And now you have evrything you need in palm and you can start the HUNT.
