  1. Roy, just reword them as necesary, and we'll keep this post bumped to let others know... Thanks to all for helping in this cause, and for your prayers!
  2. Thanks, Rasj... And with that being said, > HERE are the latest offerings! <
  3. GREAT NEWS! Latest update! 19 April 18, 2007 at 07:35 AM EDT Skye has been moved out of the ICU! Although we heard that it could be another 48 hours or more, doctors decided that she was ready for the step down. Her new room is on the 5th floor of Mission, in the Neuro Trauma Care unit. Kate, Neil, and Ben will be getting her situated in her new room this morning, and are preparing to re-start physical therapy later this afternoon. This is such great news as it looks like the intensive care that Skye required is behind her. She now has the opportunity to focus on coming out of her coma and starting her rehabilitation. Neil, Kate, and Ben met with the attorney yesterday and have set the ball in motion to create the appropriate organization to fund Skye's recovery process. Thank you for all of your resource suggestions and fundraising ideas! The paperwork should be processed in the next few days, and as soon as everything is in place we will start working on putting those ideas into action! So keep them coming, and thanks as always for your continued love and prayers as Skye makes this next major step in her recovery.
  4. Latest Update! 18 April 16, 2007 at 06:36 PM EDT This morning Skye responded several times to Kate and Neil's requests for her to lift her fingers. Other than her feeding tube and the remaining antibiotics for her infection, she is entirely off of all medication, and is continuing to breathe successfully on her own. Skye's cranial pressure, swelling, and temperature is down, and she is physically responding to touch, especially to the bottom of her feet. Doctors are saying that if she stays stable for the next 48-72 hours, she will likely be moved out of the ICU and into a step down unit. Ben has a meeting tomorrow morning with a lawyer to start figuring out the best type of organization or entity to fund Skye's rehabilitation. There are now close to 700 of you who have signed up for Skye's care page, and the profound effect of your love and prayers is evident every day in and around the ICU. Since the accident, Skye has continued to defy the odds, and as she makes this next critical step in her recovery, we ask that you hold her ever closer in your thoughts and prayers, so that she can defy them once again.
  5. I am SO getting some! Oh...and Go PENS!
  6. After trying all of the above mentioned software, I really find that using GSAK and exporting my data into HTML and just dragging that into my Ipaq has been VERY good for me. The searchable links alone are worth the effort! No matter which one you use, it's all good!
  7. WOW! My wife is gonna kill me... I am doing my best to save money for the NHRA Southern nationals at the end of the month...but I can't help but bid on a couple of those!
  8. Man...what a day for the computer to be down at work.... Congrats to all winners!
  9. I just read an update and miracles DO happen! Her reponsiveness is improving, and prayers are being answered. On behalf of my friend, Rasj, (who is a VERY modest person) thanks again for all that the geocoin community has done. You guys ROCK!
  10. The Geo-chain is only as strong as the weakest link...and GC.com is that link. I have this nice, new computer with more bells and whistles than you can poke a stick at. I have a 5 meg cable service. and here I sit....looking at "Server Overload." For the money made off of advertising and premium membership fees, it is unacceptable for this service to be slow. And don't begin to tell me that I should just be patient. I only did *ONE* cache today...and it takes me 20 minutes to get it logged in. If I go eat at a resteraunt, and the steak is cooked improper, it is replaced, and/or my bill is reduced. If I pay for newspaper delivery, and I miss a paper, not only do I get refunded or an extra paper....the folks responsible actually say "We're sorry." All we get from TPTB is... well, I can't show you because I can't get the blasted site to load up...yet.... It's not Christmas anymore...
  11. It sure would be a treat to find one of these in a cache of mine....say....Hubcap IV, maybe? One can dream.
  12. Heh...looks like I was Two days late! Thanks anyway, and sorry about the pointless email! Happy April Fools, everyone!
  13. Where might I get one of those? I am a Pens fan...and a Penguin nut on top of that!
  14. I have a puck TB making the rounds... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=671678
  15. There are a few of us who are looking for hockey-related coins. Any ideas?
  16. http://talesfromthesurface.com/video/bbvideo.wmv Enjoy!
  17. And, keep this thought in mind. This technology that we are using was created to pinpoint and drop weapons. In the grand scheme, dropping a bomb and missing by 30 or so feet *REALLY* isn't going to matter!
  18. While not the biggest, I am in current possesion of Cindy... She has had a new tattoo, which can be seen here:
  19. We try to leave a wide variety of items from bagged toys for boys and girls (ask any parent who has dragged their pre-teen on a hike how important that McToy is!) to recipe cards and new socks and gloves for the ladies, to all maner of items for men (flashlights, pre-made custom cache containers, etc.) One thing we try to always leave is a film canister with a grocery bag inside for CITO.
  20. Sort of like "Geocide in the morning," huh? I don't know about the rest of you, but I pay for a service, and I should have some sort of input to that service. When you take our money, and then say that our opinion doesn't matter, then you will lose money eventually. That being said...I am going caching. NOT "Waymarking,"....*CACHING!*
  21. Don't worry about hijacking the threadW With all of the hockey talk, it's obvious that we need some hockey geocoins around! I lika all teams, but I am fond of the Pens, the Wild, the Ducks, and the Preds. We had the Greenville Grrrowl, an ECHL team here, until the owners did an about face. As far as penguins go, I just like 'em. I have all sorts of penguin stuff, (including a tattoo of Opus!), so a geocoin is the next purchase.
  22. Looking for any penguin coins and ice hockey coins...
  23. Cemetary "virtual" multi's exist in the state, but you won't find any getting approved now because of an attempt by a state official introducing geo-banning legislation. That being said, the caches here that I have experienced run the full gamunt! Hiking trails, night caches, custom containers, creative listings, and (while about 250 miles to the north of Chuck-Town) our very own Upstate S.C Geocacher's Association 11 cache L.E.G. Challenge. And, yes...there are also many skirt-lifters, if that is what you dig. Even with the limitations, it is still a great caching state!
  24. At the last SCGA meeting, my wife, Cache-n-Kerry, torked her knee disembarking from Talesfromthesurface's boat. She is now recovering from acl replacement surgery..and is about to cache-crazy! (Not to mention me...) It's all good, though. Much love withing us all!
  25. Yeah...we know about the confusion! However, we aren't as strict with our members, and we tend to eat more! Ready to rake, de-litter, and sweat, I am!
