  1. 1. when, where and what geocoin did you see first?

The first geocoin I saw in person I remember is a Groundspeak Lackeys 2010 Geocoin. The Lackeys sent it to my house.

    2. when and what geocoin did you first buy?

I never bought a geocoin. The only one I have the lackeys sent it to me.

    3. when did you make your first personal coin? N/A if you haven't yet, why not?

    N/A cost

    4. when and what did you trade your first geocoin?

    I never traded.

    5. did you find the forums first or a geocoin first?

    I found the forums first

    Thanks for the cointest

  2. http://coord.info/GC225X2 is similar, but more generic. Word is that a challenge cache requiring you to find a specific set of caches won't be published. Your idea might fall into that category. That is, if I understood your idea correctly, which I'm not sure if I did (blackout?)

I didn't know that these caches won't be published. Do you know which part of the guide lines mentions that?

What I mean blackout is that you have to find all the caches in Duvall with a few exceptions.

I only see 12 caches within the city of Duvall. That would not be much of a challenge. If you wanted to add other caches that in the area, you would have to make a specific list of caches. That is not allowed. You are allowed to simply say, find all published caches in Duvall. A dedicated cacher could knock that out in less than two hours.

Actually, there are some around Duvall, but they are still in Duvall city limits so I counted these. There is also a boat cache, so it would take longer to complete that challenge if I included it.

  4. I have a cache idea. I want to make make a blackout challenge cache for a small town, Duvall. It will require finding maybe about 25 caches. See link. here It would require finders to make a bookmark list.

    Any feedback or ideas?

    Thanks!

    edit: my link was broken

  5. Thanks for reducing the size of the favorites information box on the “View Geocache Log” when logging finds.

Also, thanks for moving it lower on the page.

Another improvement would be to remove the really lame cheerleading:

Keep it up. Find 6 more geocache(s) to earn a Favorite Point!

Halfway there. Find 5 more geocaches to earn a Favorite Point!

So close. Find 4 more geocaches to earn a Favorite Point!

    and so on …

It is hard to imagine there is a geocacher out there who is going to go caching just so they can earn another “Favorite Point.”

    Where do you find

Keep it up. Find 6 more geocache(s) to earn a Favorite Point!

Halfway there. Find 5 more geocaches to earn a Favorite Point!

    Thanks

  6. I know this isn't really a notification, but from the home page under Search for geocaches click go. (this only works if you have home location)Next, on the top of the list of geocaches you should see the word Placed. It's in the 7th box from the left. Click Placed and you should see all the new caches including the events within a 25 mile radius. The events will be at the top. You could also create a pocket query(pocket queries)On the 3rd box from the left there is a link to a great video about making pocket queries.

    I hope this helps.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

  7. Not being rude, but have you tried the search function? There have been many discussions about various GPS units and their capabilities. Plus, the Geocaching home page has a link to GPS reviews that might help. Use that to narrow down what unit would fit best for you, then google it for prices. And, check out the Garage Sale forum for units being sold.

    Good luck.

    thanks for the advice! :)

    p.s. I like your avatar ;)

  8. I'm thinking about the Magellan GC. I have some questions.

How good is the satelite reception and accuracy?

Is it easy to use and good for a new geocacher? (I have 27 finds)

What maps are included or can I put into it for free?

    Other questions coming later...

    Thanks!

  9. paperless means that you can load the cache descriptions (in a GPX format availible only for premium members) into your GPS from the computer using programs such as GSAK.

    Hope this helps. :)
