Ok, for a quick recap for the imaginary "Muggle of the Month" Award, so far for the contenders we have:
- Mr EFQ's mother
- Piddlepuss, who found a cache in her garden and handled it well, despite the paranoid conditioned response of a few people in here.
- Quan, who is not a muggle, but plays one in his yard.
- A nice lady who Coldgears met who helped him solve a puzzle, and then followed him to the cache.
- A shopkeeper that jgc3 met, who helped him find the cache, but had no idea what it was.
- Frank Kliewer who managed a team which created the first interactive GIS mapping application for the Internet 15 years ago, but was dismissed as a "muggle" in front of his house.
- A hitchiker and the person that picked him up that grabbed a cache container and came to the forums to try to find out how to get it replaced at it's original location in a thread that I remember, but cannot locate.
- A raccoon, and a few skunks that Kabuthunk thought were cute.
- A muggle in Vegas that Swineflew ran into, but of which the story stays in Vegas.
- Knowschad's avatar without the hat.
Any others?
I feel like that I'm digging for gold in a copper mine.
My friend, whose relatives cache, but not him.
REMOVE THE ERRANT APOSTROPHE PLEASE!
Sorry, I will fix it.
thank you very much
You're very welcome
No, put it back. This is MY thread and those are allowed in here.
It's ok. I don't want to put it back anyway.
Only a muggle would say something like that. Do want an award or something, now?
No, I am not a muggle. I found 110 caches.

Explain?
At the bottom of the Search for Geocaches page, there is a checkbox that says Highlight Beginner's caches. With this explaination:
Some geocache characteristics make it more likely that a new geocacher will be successful when they are first getting started. Beginner caches incorporate these characteristics:Traditional type
Low difficulty
Recently found by others
No micro sized caches
No problems reported
This was released this morning.
I'm not seeing it. By the Search For Geocaches page, you must mean something other than this: http://www.geocachin...ek/default.aspx
After you search, there is a checkbox at the bottom of the results page that you can use to toggle the "beginner" highlighting on and off.
Gotcha... thanks!
At the top of the page, it says, "Beginner caches are highlighted in green below". I see yellow, and pale yellow, not green, and the pale yellow ones are not exactly beginner friendly from what I can see.
Actually, pale yellow is your owned caches, I believe.

It's so cool! Now I know what cache to pick when I want a easy one! Thanks Lackeys!

Let's get back on topic, this is a thread about tree climbing caches, not about canoes and boats. Thank you.
-
Guess what? There's going to be a new tree climbing attribute in the release today!
-
Wow! Sounds great! Thanks a ton!

I will take 46 please.

Ha, I can't even accidentally find a puzzle solution! I'm terrible at them, and don't know how anyone figures out some of them. Gives me a headache just thinking about them.
I meant puzzle final ( the actual container). Sorry for any confusion caused.
-
Have you ever accidentally found a puzzle final without solving it?
Someone did that to my brother's cache while that person was looking for a trail to a nearby cache.
-
Ready for my first geocache...super excited...but weary of muggles!!! What are they? Cheaters? commoners? serious question, by the way!
Muggles are a nickname for non-geocachers, which usually know nothing about the game. What wary of muggles means, is that you should be careful not to attract them so they won't try to steal the cache after you leave.
Have a wonderful first find, and welcome to the forums!
-
Is there a way to make the handle rustproof?
Just curious.
Yes, just take it off. It's not necessary to have that to hide the cache.
Chinese food take out containers don't sound like they're sturdy enough to be watertight. Try ammo cans, or lock and locks.

I will vote for it. This is an cool feature.

3rd guess: 25 diff. 2.5
-
2nd guess: 43 caches, diff. 2.5

I don't like chat rooms. Forums are better.

I might be going caching tomorrow, in a dense vegetation local park w/ 35 caches in it, but problem is, that Ticks live there. Sure, Ticks live everywhere, but as long as I'm unaware of it, Im okay. Im terrified of Ticks. Everything about 'em. The legs, the arachnid like mouth, the round flat thorax, etc. I looked at wikipedia to see if it had any information to avoid them. But whoever wrote that article didn't help at all. I almost felt like editing the whole page saying "ticks are just little rainbows in disguise" But i didn't.
All wikipedia had was a huge deer tick on a leaf saying "ticks sit on leaves and attatch to their host when something brushes the leaf. And we cachers even stick our hands into unknown places which might have a horde of tick eating the remains of a deer eyeball.
One more peice of information that I found "useful" (Im being sarcastic) was a picture of a tick sitting on a toddlers scalp and engorging on his scalp flesh. I wasn't a pretty picture. Who knows who took that picture.
Anyway, I need some help on how to help avoid ticks other than that spray on repellent. Any?
which park? lord hill?
yep.
I'm curious, where did you hear that ticks lived there?

Who's going to the Block Party? I think I am.
moderators, would you please keep this thread in Geocaching Topics? Thanks!

I love climbing trees, and I would like to hide a tree climbing cache. Any feedback or advice?

Does anyone know which place or park has the most caches?
Just for fun.
