Since the change in maps occurred, there have been a lot of dissatisfied customer of geocaching.com. I understand the reason for the change but differ on how this was handled. I feel that gc.com needs to work with all people who used there site, being a PM I have lost some of the functionally that made it easier to use your site. cgeo was the reason I join including becoming a PM. I have copied and pasted some inform from facebook and feel GC.com should take note.
This update on GC.com will have a great impact on geocaching community. On GC.com it says there is "over 5 million geocachers worldwide." Market install count says we have 300k c:geo's installed all over the world. The top 5 countries that are more than 75% of all install are US, Germany, UK, Czech and Sweden. 300k users is not much, but it's 6% of all geocachers. And those 6% of users are really angry.
After reading some emails on support I see that cachers who were active yesterday are now damaging caches. Let's say one of the emails goes like this "Well greed is the root of all evil. If geocaching.com wants more money then I am done with them. In fact my new game is going to be to steal and destroy as many caches as possible and never pick up any more trash. Maybe i should sue for all the trash I have picked up for FREE!"
Another example "New update....is rubbish! U killed live maps...close all my bloody accounts now...no more caching here! Thanks guys....good luck Ur need it...cachers will start dropping like flies....already know some who have dropped it like us! Thanks...". The greedy Gorundspeak coorporation should re-think about their actions and "public" API.
