  1. Hey all Pat just bought me my own GPS unit today!! We had been sharing (I guess you could call it that) and it was quite hard to do because neither of us really likes to play follow the leader. It will be interesting now to cache together and see what differences we get in the readings. Wow..more folks found Good Luck and said it was easy. I agree with George..we missed something. I think we might go back out to that area tomorrow since it is staying light so much later now. Hopefully we can "unbump" our heads and find it this time. I am back in study mode now, so maybe my brain will work better. I think I was just soooo wore out last weekend after having to help Ron out last week! I hope everyone has a great week! Jaimee
  2. How can bugs resist a sweet lil' person like me??? I tell ya, if there is a bug around, it will find me. Fleas, mosquitoes, ticks, chiggers..you name it..they will bite me! While at La Grange the other evening, we were in a literal swarm of mosquitoes..I was bit up..and they totally ignored Pat. What does that tell you??? Jaimee

  4. We have our WAAS enabled, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Maybe we aren't really using it properly. I don't know that much about it, but I do remember Pat saying it was enabled. Jaimee
  5. Wow..quiet boards today, huh?? You can tell spring break is over and the teachers/students are back to work! Is there a definition somewhere of a "normal" size for a cache? I know we try to put the size of the cache into our description area. The Giddyup cache is only about 2.5 x 2 inches..not really a microcache..but is that a normal size? I too like it when people give a description of what kind of container the cache is in. For example, Retreevers said that Good Luck was in a pint-sized container, so that ruled out several places that I might have looked. I have also noticed that some folks don't quite know what size containers they have used. I have found a couple caches that were MUCH smaller than what was actually listed. Not necessary to measure the container to the millimeter but a close estimate is nice! I mean, if the container is obviously a film canister size, don't post that it is a 1-cup container. Glad to hear you had a successful day yesterday Ron. I think we will probably go try to find a few tomorrow afternoon since it is staying light so much later. I need to do some urban caches though to avoid the variety of bugs that are feasting on my body lately! Have a good day! Jaimee

  7. So, Ron, the family that had the cache..was this a family of cachers or just folks that happened upon it?? I was hoping to beat you to that one..but considering I stayed in bed until almost 11 a.m. today, I figured you were probably already out there if you went! Jaimee

  11. Yep...I am stil giving Pat that nice look!! He has a habit of looking over things. I knew I should have walked back over his steps! It totally sucks to see someone else find a cache after you have been looking at it for about 40 minutes! Hmmm..nothing here from Ron. Do you think he doesn't want us to know he couldn't find the caches??? And yes, we did call Tomaski's Tickbusters for help. I knew that he was knowledgable in this area and I was needing help QUICK! Thanks..it worked like a charm..but we found out later that the proper way to remove a tick is to pull it out by it's itty bitty head with tweezers. I thought that was how you weren't supposed to do it. Once again, proof positive that I am a nature woman!! Man..I am beat. All that time and only 1 cache found. UGH. We didn't have time to do the Canyon Cache. I was busy looking for the perfect spot for our next cache. See ya! Jaimee

  13. Just thought I would let everyone know that there is a pretty decent pow-wow at MJC the same weekend as the planned GeoEvent. The event is Saturday and the pow-wow is Sunday. I went to it 2 years ago, and they had a fairly decent turnout. If you have never been to a pow-wow, they have a fair representation of different dance and drumming styles. Jaimee
  14. Pretty dang smart ticks if you ask me!! Going caching tomorrow Ron? If so, I will keep my cell phone on to help you! Jaimee

  16. I didn't realize you had placed 2 today! I only saw "Smell the Roses" when we looked earlier. I think Retreevers will get that clue also...but I think it will be a good one for some fun comments and probably lots of "Huh?????" going on! Gotta love us science peoples! Jaimee

  18. That was a fun one George. I ran right out to be sure to beat Ron to it! We did use the clue..had to. The clue is VERY good. I actually thought it was in a totally different place. I found it first and then wandered off to let Caitlin and Pat continue hunting. Good luck Ron. I bet you resort to begging a hint from someone who has already found it!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Jaimee
