  1. A friend and I are thinking of attempting this classic, and apparently, challenging cache on Sunday, Aug 22nd.

I first tried to solicit this advice on Facebook and only got one helper (THANKS Margaret) so I thought I'd head on over to where the audience is a little more focused on Geocaching

So a change of clothes looks like a good idea, towels, rubber boots (should we even bother with these or just bring throw-away shoes?), zip-lock bags for the camera and GPS. What else should we arm ourselves with?

How about tips on the right place to start out from. Anyone willing to share that or is finding that part of the fun?

Thanks in advance for any hints, advice, or words of wisdom - oh, and - we'll be camping at Mt Rainer the two days leading up to Sunday but if anyone wants to try and meet up on Sunday and make the trek to the cache with us please contact me here!

As the FTF geodiver and I used chestwaders ..which I threw away after the find because they were complete destroyed. Have fun

  2. Glenn, I feel certain that the National Distinguished Elementary School Principal from Washington award is not given by the National Association of Elementary School Principals without considering the stellar qualities that define excellence. Your enthusiasm, your passion for teaching (and learning!), your belief in, and support of, today's youth reflect your dedication to education. Congratulations.

    Thanks Jo!

  3. Pretty sure Mr. Malone taught at graham elementary when I was a wee lad, though maybe I'm wrong, heh. Either way, congratulations!

Indeed I did teach at Graham Elementary the first year it opened over 20 years ago! NWCrew...can't wait to hear from you!

    Mr. Malone

  4. The NCCE Conference is in Seattle this year.

The geocaching booth has been a huge success for 5 years now.

3,000 teachers will attend this year's conference @ the

  6. I am looking forward to Wednesday, but I have a couple of questions...

    Where do we meet?

What do we need to bring?

Any other information that we need to know?

No need to bring anything...but you can bring any geocaching items you'd like to show off.

I'll be at the geocaching booth on the 4th floor of the convention center...follow the signs to the NCCE conference registration...(it's around the corner from were it was 3 years ago weightman). I'll be there at 7 am.

GeoDiver! can't wait to see you again!

The bad news is the coordinates are lousy. It is hard to get a good signal next to the Union buildings!

I finished all preparations today...We're ready to roll. Thursday will be our busiest day.

    Glenn :(

  7. I'm here in Downtown Seattle, Red Lion on 5th.

    Question:

Since some of us will be doing a bit of back and forthing to retrieve/restock, would it be wise to bring my bike along?

No bike needed...it's a very short distance.

I caught and fixed the "On"e error.

We expect 3,000 teachers on Thursday!

This is gonna be a blast!

  8. Here's a sneek peek at the coordinates:

    1) 47 36.646 122 19.861

    2) 47 36.571 122 19.853 or 47 36.554 122 19.878

    3) 47 36.610 122 19.835

    4) 47 36.631 122 19.820

    5) 47 36.683 122 19.826

Each Cache will represent one of the coffee companies (ie Starbucks, Tullys etc.)

Nothing is a the coords now.
