  1. Thanks. I have an e-mail out to Groundspeak.com to see if I can get it activated and then look it up.
  2. BlueDeuce . . yep, that's it. Looks like it was grabbed from GCP2RG by GranandPap, but there are not logs prior to when they picked it up that indicates where this one came from. The Bracelet TB, eh? I'll have to study the logs. Nothing jumps out at me so far.
  3. I grabbed a travel bug from a cache today. When I went to log it in, I found out that has not been activated. I was able to trace back and find the cache I think it was originally dropped in; however, there are no logs which indicate who dropped it. I can't activate the TB, because it's not mine and I don't have the code. Is there any way to find the owner so that the bug can be activated and logged? Thanks!
  4. I've tried both Firefox v2 and IE7 . . neither still work for me. The official answer from Geocaching.com tech support is that it is not possible. Another solution if you don't want to do a pocket query or use Cachemate is to decrypt the hint, and then print to a pdf writer. The only problem with this is that you many not get as many logs as you want . . . or too many if you show all of them. It's just not a perfect world . .. .
  5. Therber, thanks . .that's what I've been doing, but even if I click on decrypt first, the pdf still gets written with the hint encrypted. The hint stays decrypted for you? Miragee . . . I'm glad you export the info to your M500 so you don't use paper or ink . . but that wasn't my question. Actually, I copy the pdfs over to a Palm as well. How do you copy them so that they transfer with the hint decrypted? I found a solution . . a bit of work . . . after I create the PDF, I copy the decrypted hint from the web page and then open the PDF in Acrobat (Professional). I can then paste the decrypted hint using the text touchup tool. Sure would be nice if the hint would just print decrypted. Anyone else have suggestions? Thanks!
  6. I am trying to use the 'Print PDF with 10 logs' function to print cache pages. Even if I have selected the hint to be decrypted prior to printing the pdf, the hint is printed in encrypted form when the pdf is written. Is there any way to use the print pdf function and have the pdf created with the hint decrypted. If not, does anyone have any workarounds? Thanks!
  7. Does anyone know of anyway to configure Mapsource (6.11.6) so that when loading new maps to the GPS, the existing maps can be retained in the unit without reloading them? For example, if I have NJ and PA loaded, and want to add NY, it would be nice if I didn't have to load all three . . . just add NY. I'm using a 60CSX. I understand that I can copy the maps to the microSD directly, but how do you tell which map is which? Is there perhaps a table that cross-references the file name to the State/locality? Thanks!
  8. This is a total shot in the dark, as I don't have a Venture. I use a 60CS. On THAT unit, I have found that I only get the buttons to mark a Geocache found, when I navigate to the waypoint 'Off Road'. My unit is set to prompt me re 'Follow Road' and 'Off Road'. If you've navigated to the cache in the 'Follow Road' mode, do another Go To for the cache and select 'Off Road'. Now, when you change to the compass page, you should see the buttons you're looking for. Hopefully this will work the same on your unit, as well.
  9. Garmin lists "Dual Position Display Mode" as a feature of the 60CSx. Can anyone fill me in on what this is? I'm hoping that it is the ability to set the display to landscape, which the 60CS didn't have. Of course, the Garmin manual doesn't even contain the work 'dual', so searching the manual was of no help whatsoever. I just received a 60CSx, and can't find the feature anywhere within the menu system, either. (I haven't done a firmware update yet, though.) Any light you can shed on this feature, which a number of Garmins are advertised to have, would be appreciated. Thanks!
