Must be your end, been smokin' fast for me all morning.

You don't need to shoot your whole wad to figure out if your nuke is going to work. 1 megaton bomb or 1,000,000 megaton bomb, the trigger to start the reactions is the same. Blow a small nuke and save the rest of your enriched whatever-it-may-be for the rest of your bombs. I think it probably was a nuke, just small.

FTF is first to find. I see in another thread that you have the home waypoint issue resolved.

Sounds like your datum on the Lowrance is set to NAD83, instead of WGS84. I had a similar issue last cache I looked for. I was cussing the cache hider until I remembered that I had changed to datum to NAD83 for a mapping project. As soon as I set it back to WGS84 I was right on top of the cache. Before I was about 30ft to the SW. Double check your datum settings.

So whaddya think about how you get these co-ords?
hikergps replied to Shifty's topic in General geocaching topics
Never found one like this, haven't seen any around here. I think it is a great idea and I may just create one similar, there are enough caches in my area to keep it interesting. Shifty, thanks for bringing this awesome caching adventure idea to my attention! edit:spelling -
so you've found every cache within how many miles?
hikergps replied to Bad_CRC's topic in General geocaching topics
18.3 miles. I don't have to deal with microspew in my area. I'll be going to get this one soon and extend that mileage out a little. Looks like I'll be the only hit in almost a year. I guess that happens with caches that take a little walking effort. -
Why would they do that when they can sell them faster than they can make them at $35,000+?

I answered this one in the other thread that you asked the same question in.

5 gallon =1155 cubic inches. 1 broken McToy=approx 4 cubic inches. 5 gallon bucket=288.75 broken pieces of crap in 2 weeks after filling with nice swag.

What is the monthly Jeep TB goal?
hikergps replied to disenchanted's topic in General geocaching topics
Doesn't anybody freaking read instructions for anything anymore? The website address is on the freaking tag on the bug. The link to the contest is on the page for the bug. The link to the contest has been posted in this thread. There is a search option for the forums and the jeep contest has been covered dozens of times. Try putting a little effort into finding an answer for yourselves before asking for help. If that is too much maybe you shouldn't enter the contest. -

Nevermind, a little too cynical today. -
The ever-popular Altoids-tin cache hides...

Where do you get those? Lots of places. Try Google.

The reason NASA didn't want pencils is graphite dust floating in the air fouling the equipment or getting in the eyes of the crew. edit to add: The Space Pen wasn't developed by NASA, it was developed by private industry and private funding, and tested and approved by NASA for use in space.

I log them all since numbers don't matter and I don't lie about my caching experiences.

Bingo! You have hit the nail on the head. Unfortunately, it will never be a silly little game that doesn't bother State Park Rangers ever again.

Honestly, do you see the rules being relaxed? It is my understanding that the WSGA "worked" with the WA Park Serivce to get the process in place initially, so what kept things from being written on more user friendly terms then? Don't get me wrong here. I'm not trying to be argumentative or rain on your parade, but that permit process as written is awful. It appears to be written to make geocaching in state parks as restrictive and discouraging as possible. I have not worked with the WA State Park Service and can't reference them specifically but it has been my experince in working with other government agencies that changing policy and/or proceedure is neither a simple or speedy process. While it may be true that nothing is written in stone, it isn't written in sand either and changing what is there may be more difficult than anticipated. I wish you well.

Only if we can whine about others whining about us.

Stopping E-mail every time someone finds my cache?
hikergps replied to tregate's topic in General geocaching topics
If you love them you will set them free. P.S. The guy has 1 forum post and included his email addy (sort of) in his post. Me thinks he isn't coming back to see the responses. -
its a bit full-on but LETS BAN MICRO-SPEW
hikergps replied to James Lobb's topic in General geocaching topics
You can't fix stupid. -
Why limit it to just one pinned thread? I think there would be enough ranting to support a whole Rants Only forum. Then each rant topic could have its own thread.

Maintainence on other Cacher's Caches?
hikergps replied to WRITE SHOP ROBERT's topic in General geocaching topics
No. No. No. You're lazy. -
Would you look for a cache in here?
hikergps replied to scorpionkill's topic in General geocaching topics
Me too, only my fear is worse: I'm on my way out and they are on their way in. -
