  1. Howdy all, I'll be visiting Thailand, around the Pattaya area, in the middle of April. Are there any basemaps for the area and how's the caching in the area. Thanks. Rob
  2. Thanks Tadpole. I'll arrive in Hong Kong next week, and I'm looking forward to caching there. This will be my first caching experience outside the U.S. Rob
  3. Thanks, We'll only be in SG for a few days, but we're looking forward to doing some hunts! Rob
  4. Howdy all. I'll be visiting Singapore for a few days in late April. I'm lookin forward to snaging a few caches while in the area. Also, if there are any cachers in the area who'd like to meet up and do some hunting together let me know. Rob
  5. Howdy all...I'll be visiting HK for about 4 days early next month. This will be my first experience with geocahing outside the U.S. I've got the queary download from geocaching.com, is there anything else that I will need? I imagine I will pick up a paper map when I get there, and I'll be on foot, so hopefully there are some caches close to where I'll be staying. If any one in the area would like to get together and do some caching let me know and I'll see if we can meet up. Rob
  6. Wow...not too many of us out here. Rob-n-Cherie
  7. The wife and I have just moved to Lemoore from Beaufort, SC. I haven't searched for any caches in the area yet, but we had fun cacheing on our 30 day cross country trip. We found about 40 caches on our 12 state trip. We'll probably start hunting some of the locasl caches soon, and hopefully will find the time to hide some as well. Rob-n-Cherie
  8. Well, here's a bit of good news...I finally got a hold of the Beaufort County Land Trust and according to Debi, they do permit caching on their property. Call (843) 521-2175. Rob
  9. Does anyone know if the Beaufort County Land Trust permits caches to be placed on their land? I'm new to the sport and would like to place a few caches in the Beaufort area, but I have been informed by the "reviewer" that I need permission to place caches, even on public property. For some reason I assumed...yeah, silly me...that if the land was public, and wasn't an off-limits location, I could place a cache there. Oh well, I guess I've gotta contact the Land Trust and try to explain to them what geocaching is. Rob
  10. Thanks for all the replies! I decided to go ahead and bite the bullet up front and order the GA 27C antenna with the 60CS. I also purchased the auto mount kit with the City Select NA v6. Well, so far I have not had to use the external antenna, at least in the wife's Scion xB. It gets great reception on the dash and the bean-bag auto mount works great. I have yet top try it in the RV yet. The city select is a "must have" accessory. During a trip to Tampa the GPSr took us right up to the front door of all of the relatives I had to visit that weekend...all I had to do was search for the address and hit "go to" and viola we were on our way with no worries. These things ROCK! Oh and found our first three geocaches and got my sister hooked on geocaching too. Rob
  11. Hello, I'm new to the gps world, but am intrigued by the gagets and their capabilities. I'm about to purchase a Garmin 60CS for hiking/biking/geocaching, but I'd also like to use it in my vehicles. I was wondering if a remote auto antenna is a nesesity while in the vehicle? I will be using it not only in my cars, but in my motorhome which has a fiberglass roof. Thanks for the info! Rob "tadpole"??? What the heck?
