  1. There might have been an actual GSA sighting in Fairbanks, AK. I was at the airport sending someone off when I noticed someone who looked a little out of place. Attempting to offer some help, he mentioned the need to get to the Bering Sea before the ice went out on the rivers. Strange, I thought to myself, as Fairbanks is a long ways from the Bering Sea but then I noticed he approached one of the smaller, commuter airlines and the flight board mentioned Barrow, AK. Of course, no camera, so now I am going to have to watch all the caches around the airport to see if perhaps, maybe, possibly, cross fingers, something happens. The Geocoin Easter Bunny also visited yesterday ... very strange that two mystery folks might have been here at the same time. More details to follow ....
  2. Looks like the ol' Bunny was really travelin'. Maybe he was getting tired of all the attention, maybe he really lives in the north somewhere near the Geocaching Secret Agent's lair, but an egg hit on of my caches on Easter day and after patiently waiting for 24 hours, I swung by today and opened the cache to find it still there. Now Fairbanks, Alaska is a long ways to hop but then again, the ol' bunny might just have a connection with the famed GSA.
  3. Just loved reading this thread ... and just loaded 2988 POIs that are connected with the routing waypoints for our upcoming 3200 mile cyclist trip along the Lewis n Clark trail ... now the laptop truly does not have to come along for the trip. Will shortly make a backup download on my other memory chip for my 60csx as well. Downloading and running the 3.2 software update makes the POIs show up at all distances that I have tested and clearly shows me the route we will be cycling. I can now also add as many caches as we could possibly ever need or want to do as we ride ... wait, that might be a problem as I had limited myself to caches that were within a half mile of the route so I could keep some limits but now the only limit is the memory chip.
  4. Email Sent Cav Scout just got back from 16 months in Iraq, just short of 20 years active duty Army. Please include.
  5. Here are a couple of pictures proving the coin exists ... in my hand ... with a newspaper dated for this last Sunday. The coin really does exist ... if you haven't seen it yourself, we are going to the Coinfest event in Temecula, CA in February as well as the Mega Event the following day. http://img.geocaching.com/cache/log/8ba272...c0362344948.jpg
  6. Will get a picture as soon as I get home ... there was a signature in the cache that I found the coin in. Interesting mystery ... coin picture in my hand coming.
  7. Alright I am confused ? I am going to go on the limb and state that you know more about this coin than we do . If I had to make a guess since you know Cav Scout I am thinking he has explained it all to you . PedalPushin and CavScout @ Between a Rock and a Hard Place I guess now I am confused ... yep, I know Cav Scout and have cached with him since he returned from Iraq. In fact it was in one of his caches that I found the coin but am not aware of any connection as a cacher, Phantom Cacher, visited the cache prior to my arrival. The cache is about 40 west of my location and we weren't able to get out there for the FTF due to the very cold temperatures the week before (-20 during the day and -40 degrees at night).
  8. Am attempting right now to load that picture ... didn't seem to work the first time around ... will try again. Cache where you found it? Found it in a cache called Raven's Treasure in Fairbanks, Alaska
  9. Am attempting right now to load that picture ... didn't seem to work the first time around ... will try again.
  10. Found a new coin today ... not sure who this cacher is as he/she only seems to have 11 finds but the coin is nice nonetheless. Anybody out there with info, would love a response. Looks like he/she swung through Anchorage and Fairbanks ... I was just lucky enough to get to the cache after him.
  11. If you would like one placed in grizzly country, interior Alaska, let me know. Would be glad to place one in one of our local caches that has grizzlies running through from time to time, actually more often than not. Big Country (GCQAF4) is one that comes to mind at the moment as our last visit showed a sow and cub having come through within days of our visit.
  12. Address sent via email ... knocked off Chuggah, Chuggah yesterday ... 20 degrees above, 2-3 inches of snow , all is frozen now.
  13. CavScout, Been wandering quite a bit working on the Alaska's CavScout Cache ... in your honor ... looks like you will need to find final waypoints of 4-5 of my other high difficulty level caches to just find the beginning start point. From there been wandering through the highways and byways finding and plotting various "distinct landmarks and landforms", following the clues carefully will lead to the final cache. Should be around a 4-5 mile wander if all goes well. Some of the wandering will be distinctly non-linear due to natural obstacles of which a fair amount so far are not showing on any maps that I can find. Hope this will make the mark for placement of a few new coins. PedalPushin
  14. Cav Scout, Don't have a personal coin yet but now I must create the ultimate Cav Scout dedicated cache that might prove worthy of a coin. Alaska's Great Bear is getting there ... but compass navigation will be brought to a high point as well as camoflauge worthy of a Raven's Eye only. Perhaps then one coin will remain.
