  1. The website has a major loophole: a basic member can trick the site to give the coordinates of any premium member only cache. This is how it is done: Pick a PMO cache, for example: http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC599RA_the-unofficial-ghost Open the "log your visit" link (by ID): http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?wp=GC599RA Read the GUID of the cache from the "in reference to" link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=f7d25eae-d9f1-4946-997f-b5ea5bb468a7 Open the "send to GPS" link (by GUID): http://www.geocaching.com/seek/sendtogps.aspx?guid=f7d25eae-d9f1-4946-997f-b5ea5bb468a7 View the HTML source code and look for "bounds". Voila! You have the coordinates! There is already a browser script that does all of this on background and an average Joe will get the coordinates on a cache page automatically. In my opinion this loophole needs to be fixed. Otherwise what is the function of the "premium only" setting of a geocache? Here in Finland there are guys that register to the site to get the cache coordinates and then they go and vandalize the cache containers just for fun. For now, the premium only setting has prevented the unwanted visitors on the PMO caches, but the loophole guarantees that anyone can visit any cache they want. I did report the issue to the staff via email (request 491666), but my report was ignored at that time because For me, it is perfectly okay if some premium member gives the cache coordinates to their basic member friends, but now to coordinates are basically available for everyone. Am I the only one concerned about the issue?
  2. Thanks for the update! I will try it out soon. I have a few minor issues to report: 1) Empty cartidge tiles: Not all the cartridges have an icon and in my case I have many of those. If a cartridge has no icon, Geowigo should not show the empty tile. 2) Button text is truncated: Sentences tend to be rather long in Finnish and thus the button texts get truncated quite often. Would it be possible to enlarge the buttons? 3) Marker misaligned: The marker for the start location seems to be a bit misaligned. The red arrow points the correct location (approximately): The correct location: 4) HTML-tags are not filtered out: See the above image.

  4. I have created my own cartridge and I have added multiple "save game" calls on it, but it seems like no save games are being created. At least I cannot see the save games being added to the saved games list. I can see only the manually saved games. The cartridge is http://www.Wherigo.com/cartridge/details.aspx?CGUID=4a4480e7-865d-41bf-9d59-756edc40f767. I am still annoyed due to the missing resume functionality (on screen unlock) and IMHO the app should not leave beta until the issue is fixed or worked around somehow. On my cartridge I tried to overcome the issue by adding the "save game" calls, but it did not work (btw. the same cartridge works fine on an old Nokia S60 phone with OpenWIG). May I ask why the cartridge must be stopped on resume? If it is really necessary to do something on resume, please, restore the recent save game because that would really help at the current situation. Also, the app has stucked on "stopping cartridge" once every time I have been playing a Wherigo and the only way to break out is to press windows-button and then restart the app.
  5. I have a question. Is it somehow possible to pull .gws and .gwl files out of the phone? Or sync those to OneDrive?
  6. Thanks for the 1.0.3 update. I quickly played around with the UI and it seems that the compass offset of +90 degrees is a "feature" on Nokia phones (tested with Lumia 1020 and 1520). Do you mind if I post an issue report on Github?
  7. Hi Mangatome! I am extremely happy to finally see a Wherigo app on Windows Phone! Keep up the good work! Now some feedback Last night, I went out to try the app on a developer unlocked Nokia Lumia 1020 with this cartridge: Pelastustehtava. First, everything seemed to play just fine and I reached the starting point (because I was already standing there). I started to walk towards the first waypoint, locked the phone and put it to my pocket. After 100 meters/yards or so, I decided to check my position, unlocked my phone and realized the game does not run under the lock screen. Instead, the app resumed on the main view. "What?!", I tought. I started the cartridge again and another surprise hit me. I realized that the app does not automatically save/resume the previous game and later I realized that it won't offer you to restore a saved game even if you have one, but it always starts a new game instead. Thus, I was forced to walk back to the starting point and restart the game. Then yet another problem hit me. I realized that the direction arrow was pointing to a wrong direction (apparently +90 degrees) and that I had walked towards east, but I should have walked towards north. I closed the app and opened it again. And it got worse. I hoped that the compass calibration would re-run, but it did not. Instead, the app had no clue of the position. I retried several times, but the problem did not go away. Only after waiting a few minutes without doing anything, the app finally got the position again and I was able to continue the game. I had learned that I should save the game manually every now and then and thus I saved the game after reaching the first waypoint. Next, I was supposed to bypass "the guards" and reach "the base", but due to the compass problem, I run to "a guard" and I was asked to go back and retry. Instead, I cheated. I walked away a few meters/yards and resumed the game from a savegame. That was almost a perfect trick, but the app lost the position again: And, then it got worse. After another retry, I had no targets at all: Resuming the savegame and waiting still did the trick again, but that was frustrating and the issue kept repeating all the way. Finally, I reached "the base" and now it was the time to run back with "the hostages". The timelimit was set to 2 minutes. But, the app crashed after closing the dialog. And it crashed again after every retry. The game was over. DNF Finally, I have an issue to add. See the screenshots. See those small green texts on the dark backround? It is very hard to see the small arrow and the small distance measure on a pitch black forest. And you cannot turn a flashlight on the display because it just reflects the light and you cannot see anything (I know, I tried that). Could you make those bigger and/or add a full screen compass, please? Suggestions: As the first priority, I would like to see that the app would nicely resume the current game after the screen is unlocked. Here in Finland the temperature outside is now below zero and it is not nice to run outside without gloves while holding a mobile phone on a hand (I know, we are crazy and we like to go geocaching in a freezing weather too ). I mean, between the waypoints, I want to lock my phone, put it on my pocket and pull the gloves back on. The other issues are not a big deal for me (except the crash). Conclusion: The app looks good and as a developer I see that you have done great work. The app needs only a bit of fine tuning, but I like it already Big thanx to you!
