  1. Its up to like $2.45 to $2.55 here in Bend, Oregon depending on which end of town you buy your gas. Actually I think its gone up a bit since yesterday. Late last night, Arco was up to $2.49, and they're always the cheapest.
  2. Thanks keystone! I'm partially blind and its difficult for me to find these things.
  3. Do the stages within a multi have to be at least 0.1mi apart from eachother? And, if so, does this apply to "virtual" stages, where there isn't a container but rather you're writing down numbers off a plaque or a sign?
  4. That information is confidential!
  5. WoW! http://www.mrsnazz.com/cache.jpg Not very well hidden, but gotta admire the camo!
  6. How about using a CyberSkin Realistic Vagina as a cache container? If you staple the labia shut it should be pretty water resistant. Big enough inside for a logbook and a few cylindrical trade items.
  7. Why is it that people feel the need to add "adult" themes to everything? Aren't there enough boobs and sex everywhere else in our world? Do we have to cram them in to ammo boxes now?
  8. There was a CRAZY event at the Champoeg Campout event here in Oregon last year. Four or five teams were formed, and each team got coords for a wheelbarrow, parts, and a bunch of baloons, and a bucket. The teams had to use the parts to assemble a trebuchet, fill up the water baloons, and then launch the baloons at a team member holding the bucket. Oh, and you had to catch the baloons in a "beer bong", which then funneled the water down to the bucket. Team that got the most water in their bucket was declared the winner. 9. The ones I've visited, in particular along I-5, have been kinda stinky - as in, the area around them smelled bad. Like, behind the restrooms. Or in a cluster of bushes where people leave trash (or utilize the bushes while restrooms were out of order). Not my cup of tea.
  10. Iron-ons are fine with me! Or maybe I should just track down fuzzy for a stitchfile of the Gx logo and get that put on to one of my Circus Freak Sized shirts. But seriously, iron-ons or cafepress is certainly better than nothing.
  11. Helmets have failed to protect people's heads. Bulletproof vests have failed to stop death. Airbags have killed people. Lifeguards have been unable to stop people from drowning. Just because a clear cache has been blown up, or a well-labeled cache has still been considered dangerous, doesn't mean that you shouldn't label your cache, and it doesn't mean that you shouldn't consider a clear container.
  12. Very nice looking coins! Thanks for posting them.
  13. I've had that happen several times myself. But I figure its all part of cache maintenance... although that realization doesn't stop me from grumbling about it.
  14. Yeah, it does matter. Since when are you a thread hijacking troll, bigred?
  15. The new "percent quotesign"? This isn't much different from existing policies to keep people from setting up trample points on managed lands. The topic is misleading; this isn't banning geocaching in SC, its banning it on certain state owned/regulated properties.
  16. Thanks NurseDave for actually reading my post and responding with the info that I requested.
  17. Mingo must pre-date the "no burrying" rule huh? Or is the rule just "no digging" required to find?
  18. I've been using laser-engraved wooden tokens for a little while now. They cost $2.50 a piece, which is comparable if not higher to the per-item cost of metal coins. So, I've been thinking for a while now about switching to metal. If there is already a thread about this, please markwell me and I'll close this one. What was the total cost for you to get up and running with your metal geocoin? Including art fees, die, initial order, etc. I'm trying to get a handle on what kind of monetary commitment this involves. Also, I'll want these serialized, so if you have any info about that, it would be appreciated. And the name of the company you used would be great, too! Thanks!
  19. I use some thin metal plates with holes punched in the corners. They're about the size of an index card, and are a biproduct of manufacturing errors at the company I work for. Permanent marker (well, sharpie, anyway) lasts about two years out in the elements of central oregon, which include wind, light rain, and snow. The plates are easily attached to trees using fishing line. Amazingly, even knowing where they are, I have trouble spotting them sometimes.
  20. Thanks RK, Hydee for clearing that up. It makes a lot more sense now.
  21. You can, by becoming a premium member. The "pocket queries" area has all sorts of search filters, such as difficulty, cache type, last find, etc.
  22. Is there any chance of getting this and various other geocaching shirts in size XXXXXXLLLOMFG? 'cause thats pretty much what I wear. My huge head has also rendered my geocaching hat unwearable; it was OK at first, with the strap out to the limit, but I had to wash it a few times. I'll save it for the freakish offspring that I'm sure to have. PS. This is a serious question, despite the "humor". Like, 4XLT would be awesome. And is it just me, or are 3X shirts sold today smaller than 3X was four years ago? I have old 3X shirts that fit me fine, but new ones are snug...
  23. See, this is where I get confused. If a forum poster asks who the approver for an area is, somebody posts the answer. Sometimes, its even another approver. In fact, there are several examples of that in this very thread. If this information is priviledged, why is it so different to dole it out one post at a time? Heck, the person who approves your cache is listed on your cache page. I'm not buying the privacy reason. If privacy and threats are a problem, don't give out the approver's direct e-mail addresses. Maybe geocaching.com could even have a way for you to contact them without e-mailing them directly. Oh, wait, it already does!
