  1. No luck, setting are the same on both computers browsers and using a different internet carrier made no difference.
  2. Ok, even stranger, tried again while home for lunch and got logs right away with Chrome and Firefox. I will compare settings on the two comupters maybe Sunday, if I can see what might be causing it I will post so anyone else with trouble might get some help. I can't figure how one being Win 7 and the other being Vista would make a difference so I am wondering if it is that I am using a GSM card at work, will try with a MiFi from a different carrier when I get back.
  3. Opera - none FireFox Ad Block Plus, already disabled on Geocaching and always worked. Fully disabled it and still no logs. Chrome just running evernote and Chrome to phone. I can't seem to find any reason not to be getting logs.
  4. I get this exact problem with Opera 11, FireFox 5 and Chrome 16.0.912.63 On two different computers. Vista and Windows 7, I haven't tried it on my Linux computers yet and probably won't since that isn't where I need this to work. Tried clearing caches, didn't work, but that has never worked for any web issue I have ever had! Lots of other annoying UI problems too.
  5. Cachemate is available for Android as well. http://www.smittyware.com/droid/cachemate/
  6. "Little Minnesota River (SD)" Red Jeep Travel Bug N 37 07 W 093 16 Springfield, MO
  7. Ok, I read the last post and thought I would try again and this time I got it so it looks like they are ready to go. Now where to place it, hope to place a new cache and make it a FTF grab for someone.
  8. I got mine today as well. I saved the activation instructions but they don't seem to be working. I figure they will wait a few days to make sure most of them are received before you can log them into your inventory. Here is what I have. Thanks for requesting a 2007 Jeep® Geocaching Challenge Travel Bug®! Although we can't guarantee a Travel Bug due to limited quantities we'll do our best to send them to as many people as we can. Make sure to print out the instructions below: Q: How do I activate the Travel Bug? A: If you search for your Tracking Number (the six digit number on the dog tag), you will find that it has already been activated. Q: How do I get the Travel Bug into my inventory? A: Follow these simple steps and you will be all set! Log into this page http://www.geocaching.com/track/ In the field type the Tracking Number and click the Lookup button. In the top right corner of the resulting page, click the link in the Trackable Item Options box called Add a log entry. From the Type of log drop-down select "Grab it from somewhere else". Enter any optional comments you wish and click the Submit log entry button. You are now ready to place the Travel Bug into the cache of your choice!
  9. That was even easier! Thanks! I just get a map with SeaHawks stadium on it. I figured a list of routes was supposed to appear in that big box but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I find that step by step instructions are usually my downfall.
  10. All I am seeing is the ** Routes have not been saved **, the route I am trying to upload does not appear, I can get it to show up in the box next to browse, I click upload then the route name goes away and the red letters appear, whether I check the "route name" checkbox or not. Thanks for tip though.
  11. I could be doing something wrong since this is my first attempt at creating/uploading a cache along a route. But the directions seem pretty simple yet all I get is a message in red saying ** Routes have not been saved ** I am using the kml extension and have tried using 2 different computers and even tried different browsers. So is anyone else having troubles? I am trying to create a Bolivar, MO to 1 Riverboat Dr. North Kansas City, MO 64116 route, it is only 144 miles and won't have over 500 points. I tried a search of the forums and got strange results, nothing at all related to caches along a route but when I searched myself I found a few topics but none recent, so sorry if this has already been covered lately.
  12. I could not get any snowflakes to show up either, Opera 9.02. I didn't try with other browsers since I rarely use them. You might post the link on the Opera forums, I have had very good luck getting troubles sorted out there.
  13. I have done a cache named Mother Nature's Crack (GCP8PE). No unusual pictures to go with this one though.
  14. He might not have been the oldest but postmortem caching has to count for something. Uncle Elwin TB3E05 http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.as...0b-810fdeedbeb2
  15. There are quite a few in the area, some of them would have pretty nice views. Two that I would do are Cache Houdini and Stumped?, I haven't done stumped but everyone seems to like it.
  16. There is a micro in my area that is in a metal tube about 3 ft long that you have to pour water into to get the container to float to the top. I would have had the FTF on it, my girlfriend and I got there after someone else, but they didn't bring water so they couldn't actually get the cache, but instead of waiting until they went to get some we went and helped. It is a great way to make a micro fun.
  17. I read in a magazine that Jeep sends out about a guy who used 2 Jeeps to take his whole family caching. I thought my sister would like it and bought her a GPS unit, finally a year after that I borrowed it from her and started caching regularly. I would love to know who that cacher was and what issue of that magazine it was, it was about 2 possibly 3 years ago. If anyone saw that or knows who that was let me know.
  18. I came up with 9 coins within 35 miles in 150 caches. I like the coins and the icons so I made a Piggy Bank cache GCVH9T similar to a TB hotel but with geocoins in mind. Not to get a bunch of coins horded in this cache but to get some in the area, I figure if they swap a coin they might put it somewhere nearby and we could get more coins in the area. Unfortunately there have already been a few "take only visits", but this is offset by several cachers mentioning that they are planning to get some coins and start them in my cache and in the area.
  19. I would say those are: Thanks For The Hide and Thanks For The Cache
  20. My girlfriend (GeoJenC) and I have crossed small creeks on logs at least 3 times I can think of right away. Actually about 5, we had to go back twice to get one of the finds. I get tired of the too hard/ dangerous comments, if you don't feel up to a cache go to another, you don't have to find them all, just try.
  21. 1 dog that I take caching whenever I can 1 cat 1 spare cat
  22. I have read this thread for a while and always thought it was funny but never really thought I would come across this myself. Well it happened, we were caching on a really great day for so late in the year, the day before Thanksgiving. At "What a hoot" cache we were just about to go to the site when luckily the guy stood up so we were able to keep from being seen, unlike them. We left and went to another cache and came back to do this one later that day. They had at least chosen an out of the way place, not a cache located in a city park. Not to exciting of a story but I was pretty surprised that I would run across this, it always seemed like this happens to someone else.
  23. I use my laptop while caching but just to access GC.com. I haven't figured out how to get my GPSmap 60c to actually work with my Mapsource real time, transferring waypoints is no prolem. I get an error message, something about a serial port. I was thinking of buying Streets and Trips to see if it allows me to use my GPS by connecting it to my laptop. To access the website I use a GSM (modem?) through Cingular, it cost quite a bit but I have had some really good luck with it. T-mobile was cheaper but it took about 3 minutes to load a webpage.
  24. I posted for the first time on the GC forums that I did not like the changes there, and took plenty of grief WM fans. So I tried even more here, frustrated that after searching several different categories I have given up on finding any near enough for me to go and see. I know there are some, I saw a particularly fascinating picture of a local cacher holding his GPSr up in front of a McDonald's, this was my first time at WM.com. So I came to the forums to see what I might be missing in my searches. I have figured out that you already have to know some thing you want to go find, what category someone else would put it in and about how far away it would be from your search coordinates. If I am going out hunting things in an area with my GPSr whether they are caches or some historical marker or site I tend to want to know what will be in that area. Since I cannot search like that here (unless I already know what I am looking for) the split simply means I have less opportunities for enjoying a great hobby. Hope you all enjoy WMing So when I saw this topic it nailed my feelings right away. I don't get why this site is here or why anyone would use it. Sorry my only post is a negative one I will check back and see if more search options have been added in the future.
  25. The topic was whether you liked the changes or not, I do not. I am very happy for those of you that do. Do we need 5/5 websites and micro websites? No, you just don't go to the ones you don't like. I liked the the types of caches they have moved to the other sites, I prefer a good large cache in the woods. I liked being able to see all of my options for caches of various types with one search, I thought this was convenient, clearly I was mistaken going to a seperate website and starting your search over is the way to go. Sorry for ruffling feathers before, feel free to get the last word in.
