  1. In early 2005 a couple of cachers went out as a personal challenge to see how quickly they could find the 97 or so caches at that time that were active in the Wharton State Forest. It took them several trips and over 56 hours. Log Entry at What's a Lakeview Worth Part Deux explaining the Wharton Challenge After the challenge a book mark list was made to record the event. If you want to see the list of caches that were completed in the challenge go here: Wharton Challenge Bookmark List Per se they is no organized Wharton Challenge. It was a one off event by a couple of well respected cachers who wanted to see if it could be done. It has not been repeated since then. However since then there are many new cachers in South Jersey and there are now close to 200 caches in the Wharton state forest. So good luck trying to cover the whole forest in a day! Heck there are two puzzle caches placed since the original challenge - Choreographed Chaos and Cerebral Codex that are extremely complicated and in themselves take multiple days to complete. In addition paddle to caches requiring canoe or kayak have become popular in the forest. So don't get your hopes up to clear the forest in a day as it won't likely happen. Do plan to spend some quality time in the forest to see the sights. And if you can come in the spring or the fall when the bugs are less active, so much the better. Hope you find this posting helpful

  3. Well said April. If someone had bothered to drop you a line with their concerns in the first place, then this entire negative thread might have been avoided. Unfortunately the forums are not a good place for concerns and discussions. Too much negativity here. I am heading back to my drawer. It is safer there.
  4. I hear what you're saying but to some it is. There are FTF whores everywhere - if it's not important to you or how you play the game then don't let it bother you. How the FTF and numbers freaks play the game can be important to the integrety of the game. Having had the good fortune of following a power cacher one day this fall, we found a string of caches in plain sight, on the ground asking for muggles to investigate. We rehid everything well. However would it make a difference in the number of caches found for the power cacher to take an extra minute or two on each cache and hide them well? Otherwise I could care less how the power cachers play the game. If they are into massing 1000s of finds go for it. Just how can you enjoy the game if its all a blur??
  5. What this thread needs is some input from a sock puppet or two! So hello everybody! Greetings from Batsto. North, South, Central - whaterver you call it, it is great cachign territory! Be good!
  6. Let us try this one more time!
