  3. Why do you have to list these on eBay when I am poor as a church mouse?
  4. This has actually been in my minds for days now. Even if the placement is virtual (which I think is well within my understanding of this cointest,) I would think that just off the rock would be most appropriate. My guess? S 25 20560 E 131 0304 Sorry your coord's seem a little odd on this one, also as the climb is only virtual and I have hidden the coin virtually you will need to climb the rock to find the coin. Please have a second go. Cheers gibbo003 Doh! That means i've lost out on my chance of a special coin! (...and here was me thinking I was being smart and cunning )
  5. As the Aboriginal people aren't too fond of whities climbing on their sacred ground, I will put my marker at the base of the rock amongst the scrub and little rocks for cover S25 20.261 E131 1.995
  6. I'll play - I haven't been doing missions for a while, and this looks like a good one to step back into it Happy baby slavery
  7. Yuck! I find very few copper coins look good ~ and they all tend to be antiqued! I disagree! Clan Doyle's lucky penny is absolutely spectacular. I like to think that the copper/green version of my Year of the Ox coin wasn't all that bad. And I just got one of your Four Musketeer micros in copper and it's lovely. It really depends on the coin, its coloration, its theme, and its detail, don't you think? (I'm personally not fond of coins with lots of intricate design that are done in shiny finishes of any kind, as mentioned before -- it doesn't matter whether it's copper or something else; if I can't see it, I'm unhappy!) And that shiny copper boomerang is just wonderful!
  8. 1. What is your favourite finish? I love the shinies - gold, silver and copper, but it really does depend on the coin - some metals just suit different coins. 2. What is your favourite 2-tone finish? Gold and silver usually. 3. Do you like to see multiple finishes offered for a coin? Do you buy them all, or just your favourite(s)?I like to see multiple finishes, because some that appeal to others would not appeal to me and vice versa. And it's not the finish I go for, it's the coin. I will try to get every finish for a coin I love. Then kick myself later 4. Do you prefer round coins or shaped coins? Again it depends on the artwork. I usually go for round, but my first coin, was shaped. Round fits into display folders well! 5. Do you prefer trackable or non-trackable? I prefer trackable, but they both have merit 6. Do you prefer personal coins, caching-related coins, or 'art' coins? All of them!! 7. Do you collect around a theme (what theme), or collect whatever catches your eye? I love animal themed coins, but I wont buy a coin just because it has an animal on it - it's got to appeal for other reasons as well. 8. Do you have a coin budget? Do you ever go over this budget? I never used to have a coin budget. I had a coin supervisor who would start to raise his eyebrows when I got a bit silly. But now I am making a lot less money I am buying and trading a lot less coins 9. Are you more likely to buy a coin, or trade for a coin? If I see a coin I want, I will go the easiest route. I prefer to trade if possible though. 10. Do you have any 'absolutely never trade' coins in your collection, or are they all fair game for a trade? I have a LOT of absolutely never trade coins. Such as my Gold 2007 Earth Turtle, Carousel Horses, most of my Mystery Coins, certain personals and other artistic coins I just love. Actually every single time I get rid of a coin (trade or sale) I immediately want it back. Sigh.
  9. OMG!!!! That is just so wrong!! How could you not open geocoin packages?? I suppose things might be different if you go to GeocoinFests and events and such like and see the coins you want, then trade or buy - they wouldn't be quite as exciting maybe? But yes, I lose geocoins (hard to imagine isn't it?). It is never me though. It's my Piglet. He gets a gleam in his eye when he sees my coins, and takes those that catch his fancy. I have found them behind couch cushions (Tiki Lord Pomsby - that was a heartbreak I can tell you!!), stashed in Piglet's room (the Porsche 911 coins) and in the lounge room among the toys in his toy box (all of Karma's coins). I have never had one stolen from an event (touching wood, and crossing my fingers), so I count myself lucky there.
  10. Yeah I agree with what was said above too, but with that being said... I have all the horses (because I couldn't pick just one!) And I NEED all those lions!! How gorgeous!!! I will need a new carousel for them to be displayed properly - like my horses are (thanks ATMouse! ) Dagnabbit - so much for not needing coins anymore
  11. Thanks for that I will have to start and think a bit more about what finishes we should have. The two toned would be great but a little outside the budget but I will inquire and see if its possible. I am not a fan of copper it seems to tarnish very quickly but a antique bronze will look just as good I think. Yet another gorgeous coin - well done If you use shiny copper (which is such a beautiful metal) enquire as to how much having it coated in epoxy would cost - it preserves it beautifully
  12. I dont think I have been thinking enough about geocoins recently. Shame on me. Here's my most wanted list: Delorme Eartha Crystal Fairy Moon Mushroom Gold/glitter Canadian Red Poppy Spy Coin Geomuse 2006 In no particular order
  13. Does anyone have any of these for sale or trade?
  14. Grodan where is your daughters package? Has it turned up yet?
  15. HUGS! You need to get better soon - there is a wombat in need of attention Oh yes, and events to attend I agree with OshnDoc - Facebook/Twitter has taken the whole thing to another level for me - I get to see the daily going-ons of all my favourite coiners without the flaming and nastiness. In other words, I get to have my fix AND play FarmTown Yes, I know i'm pathetic. But coins....ahhhh coins. I still love them very very much. I have become choosy in what I trade for and buy, also because I have now halved my salary by moving to a different job, so I have hardly any 'play' money to use on coins. So I spend a lot more time just admiring them. And I think Tsun is pissy with me because I owe her a pack of TimTams, and I owe Tennessee Jed a boomerang. They will come....one day when you least expect it..... And I have a sealed package for Tooey that has been hanging around so long, I dont even know what's in it. I need an address! BTW it's NOT summer here!!!!!
  16. lorca, ATMouse and Sivota, I am glad you like your packages But you all deserve them for being such wonderful people. I still have some to send out when I get a chance...
  17. Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here I was thinking this mission was meant to be a card, a coin or two and an 'extra little something', not too over the top. Well have a look at this.... I just got one of the biggest most impressive mission packages I have ever had the joy of receiving!! It would take too long to name everything in there, but just let me say, that my 'secret' mission sender has made everyone in this household very happy. I am still going through everything Thank you so very very much Karin, I love my package, and you have put so much thought and effort into it.
  18. I am so sorry. I truly, truly am. Firstly: Maine Family - Piglet received your very generous mission last week - (I was very naughty and stole the Earth Turtle from the package before I gave it to him! ) so we both loved his mission! I didn't take photos because I was at work when he ripped into it (and Mr CP didn't think to take any). But Piglet loved everything in there, and I adore the 2009 Earth Turtle!! It's my one and only 2009, so I am thrilled to bits with it. Thank you so much for it. Piglet loves his 'flying' nerd and has stashed it away somewhere where all his coins get hidden so that his mother cant find them. He particularly enjoyed the big people shaped balloons too, while I have been drooling all over the pictorial guide to Maine - I really want to come and visit now - I didn't realise it was so beautiful! So again, thanks very very much - it was a really great mission for Piglet (and me!) Secondly: My two missions were sent overseas last week. Patience grasshoppers - they are coming! So we have: Mission 1: Piglet Name received: YES Mission sent: YES Mission received: YES - THANK YOU ! ! Mission 2: Mrs CP Name received: YES Mission sent: YES Mission received: Not yet
  19. I's also love something like this. It would be nice to have a place where you could inscribe something on the coin as well.
  20. I have had heaps of mail, but I have been slack of late and not posted. I owe a heap of people coins, and they will be going out asap. Sorry about being so slow (ATMouse, I haven't forgotten you!!)
  21. Got my coins from you a couple of days ago - they are just wonderful!!! I knew they would be though, because I got the pathtags first hehe Thanks Sarah
  22. Well I hadn't signed up for this mission (shock, horror), but strangely enough, I received a great mission from SunsetMeadowlark!! I really, really appreciated getting this mission, it made things quite a bit sunnier (along with the other surpise coins I received). So thanks so much to SunsetMeadowlark, but also, thank you to the mystery person who sent a mission on my behalf so I could recieve this mission. What a generous, gorgeous thing to do. Mousekakat wont tell me who it is (including the gender), so all I can say is THANKYOU to the anonymous person, it was very much appreciated
  23. Thankyou CF30 - I am thrilled to have been able to get a couple!
