  1. Fortress of Solitude Some caching is best done in the cold weather. This is on our winter "Must Cache" list. Life slows us more than the weather.
  2. We haven't managed a FTF, but we were pleased to claim a 10th to Find TB and official geocaching sticker. The cache owner placed 10 prizes in marked envelopes. The prizes ranged in value and each included a TB. It was cool because we are new to this and have not been able to beat the local competition for the FTF honor. We thought that it was a neat idea, even if the prizes aren't TBs. Just the fun of knowing the envelope was waiting for us made it worth the time.
  3. My boyfriend didn't like the idea of caching at first. Now he goes along for the hunt, but complains about gas costs and his back pain. He's a recovering B.A.G.
  4. I would like to thank those that have taken the time to place each and every cache on the planet. Although I may not have time to lead my team to them all, it's fun to have lots to choose from. And when we are inspired to place them, I just hope that one person enjoys finding them.
  5. Then when finding and logging this cache twice, you are playing fair. You wouldn't log it twice just to boost your own numbers unfairly. This is a perfect example of why a clear cut rule should not be necessary. Just play with respect. If it's not all about having fun, then we aren't playing right.
  6. All of this seems silly. Find the cache, log it, and move on to the next one. It's not a numbers game, but it's still fun to watch the numbers. I'm new to this, and there might be reasons to double log a cache, but I can't think of any. We are only logging our finds once. We're only logging trackables we have in our hands. And we'll only be watching our own numbers, because who knows if other peoples are accurate. Rules shouldn't need to be more established because people should play with respect.
  7. I started lurking today, and also made my first post today. I might just lurk some more in the future. It really depends on what I have to say. And what is being said. We've only been caching since 6/2, and logged 34 finds. We are a team of 2 that loves to cache, but I do all the tech stuff for the team. We usually paperless cache using the mac mini, Sony Clie, and a garmin eTrex Vista C. (Sometimes we take extra maps!) I will definately post if I have something helpful to add in the future.
  8. We use MobiPocket...and have had no complaints. It lists like you see it in your query preview, and it was free!
