  1. I think changing a dnf to a found is a bad idea. For the following reasons. 1) It doesn't generate a new email to the cache owner to let them know it has been found. 2) It places the cache history out of order. Imagine you log a dnf, the next person logs a dnf, the next person logs a dnf, you go back and change your dnf to a found. Now the cache is obviously there but it looks like the cache hasn't been found in a while. 3) It's easier to see the history of a cache by just looking at the happy and sad faces instead of actually going back and reading each log. george "No one goes to The Valley of the Dead. 2. If I looked and couldn't find it, then I log a DNF. If I go back and didn't find it again, I log a DNF again. Each time I go back I log what happened until I find it. Few exceptions. A few days ago in the mountains I went for 2 caches that required a 10 mile off road bike ride, I found the first. The second was a multi, found the first part, plugged in the final coords but couldn't find it. Since it was supposed to be easy to find I assumed I plugged in the coords wrong but I didn't have enough energy or daylight left to go back to the first stage..... so I logged a note. george "No one goes to The Valley of the Dead. Just back from 5 days in mammoth so I'm jumping in late. I've NEVER had a problem with the approval process. I know a bunch of places that could still hold caches in the valley but but if I hide one, people complain. The death of caching in the valley has little to do with the site and more to do with the people in the valley. george Wanna go for a ride?

  8. Wow, these are getting good. I was emailed a photo to put up but I'm going to save it. Markwell is the star of that one. I don't want to flood the forum with too many of these too soon. geroge Wanna go for a ride?

  10. Would you like to see more of these? I've seen many caching photos that could use a little humorus photoshopping. george Wanna go for a ride?
  11. I've seen once that eventually wore out from being opened and closed many times. The rim of the lid just broke off and left the center flat portion of the lid, still holding on to the container..... one. george Wanna go for a ride?
  12. 100 is when your find count goes from 2 digit to 3 digits. Also, when picking a milestone number we tend to to pick numbers based on 10's. Find 83 caches tends not to be a milestone number. george Wanna go for a ride?

Still haven't decided on this yet... --Marky "All of us get lost in the darkness, dreamers learn to steer with a backlit GPSr" Well, you could always have the pennie smasher in your front yard so other people could smash their own Marky pennies.... for a small fee. 17. What you do is sink a large ammo can into the cement and then have the plaque at the bottom of the ammo can. george Wanna go for a ride?

  19. If the gps did everything for you, you wouldn't have threads popping up asking for parking coordinates. Just because you know where it is, it doesn't mean you know how to get to it. george Wanna go for a ride?

  22. They're fine, use common sense. I've found and hidden caches in new, old, deserted and active cemeteries. Some virtual, some traditional, micro, regular, multi's and ofsets. Some people will complain, some people always complain. george Wanna go for a ride?
