  1. I really want a set, but you keep saying how expensive it is...? Also, if you add tracking, that is just going to jack up the price of an already expensive coin. Will we get a choice on trackable or non-trackable? I just want it for a tool, not part of my collection or a traveler.
  2. Well, to be honest, you mentioned in your post that your coin would be done by the end of the week. So I really didn't think you were asking for honest feedback - since any suggestions would not be able to be implemented at this late stage in the production. But, I have to say that this coin is not really for me. I agree with JG -- the back doesn't have very much detail and this is probably the primary reason why I would not buy one. If the back looked different, I might try to arrange a trade for one. I agree with this.
  3. Just checked my mail, and I too have a strange silver mailer! Inside, it contains and antique silver coin. I have either coin # 089 or #680! LOL Thanks so much, mysterious sender!
  4. Oh, and I searched for her all over GW! I meant to tell you that she wasn't there!
  5. Thank you so much for bumping this! I almost missed it! I'll be rushing to your vendor booth while I'm there!
  6. Yep, I definitely see that.
  7. She didn't let me see it Geez Joni Pete, you were so busy wheeling and dealing! LOL Yours looks awesome too!
  8. We were down at the Midnight Madness Geocoin event earlier, and we found this coin slipped under our door. Has anybody seen anything like this?
  9. Awesome coin! I'm going to be hunting you down! Watch out!!!
  10. Nevermind, since you changed the shipping charge.
  11. Yippee! I just got a red and white mailer! I am in possession of a gold coin! It is just so beautiful! I am in awe of your generosity! Thank you so much. I will treasure this coin. I am honored to add it to my collection!
  12. I don't think it is important that it be trackable. In fact, I hope it isn't. It is a design tool, not something I want to add to my collection.
  13. I would love it if we would skip the textures. Trying to do each color, with each texture is going to make this project too big to afford, or the sample areas too small to be useful.
  14. I agree with Anne. If you put the textures on, it is hard to decide if you like the color or the texture. I think the written words should be fine. They are under enamel, so it won't look busy.
  15. Yes please! CF30 Not much interest, but for you Crowesfeat30, here is one of the three sides. We are still working out some of the details and this is just mint art and is subject to change. What do you think? Love it!
  16. The words are there to show what it looks like with a half-raised area underneath the color. The plan was not to use the 12 different texture types like the texture wheel, but to instead just show what the transluscents looked like with all the same texture, and some half-raised area. My hope is that won't be too cluttered. There is a metal band beyond each of the trans. areas so you can see what they look like against the metal. The outter band is black enamel, not transluscent. That is because white and black are both often used and it's nice to see how they look with each of the metals as well. (For instance, black nickel against black has a unique look.) As for the glows, I don't think it's even possible to do, I just made that design because Pete wanted to see what his mint would say if he gave them the design. I will likely remove the circles and go back to just transluscents. I think we'll be good without the glow. I am reading that one of the sites that makes small coins with holes in them is doing a sampler of the soft enamels and glow enamels. So if you get that, and these coins, you should have some good design tools.
  17. I think those written numbers are absolutely essential. Those are half raised metal, so they help the designer see how design elements will look under the translucent enamel.
  18. Well, I don't deserve any credit! LOL Anne, that design is all you, and it looks great! I can't wait until we can get them in hand. I think Jim is only kidding, since he only posted the mint sample of textures.
  19. I'm not sure I'm liking all the dots.
  20. One question I have from doing past coins: Is there a limit to how many glow colors can be put on one side of a coin?
  21. Love it. I wouldn't see anything wrong with just putting the numbers in the glow area. I know it is nice for it to be pretty, but it does have a function too.
  22. can a few more mint "experts" with some experience weigh in on this comment. i was recently asked to select "translucent" color choices from the PMS (Pantone Matching System) Color Chart, for the 1st time. so, my concern is...are these paints truly "translucent" in that you can see the "half height" areas below the surface, or are they more "opaque" and make the "half heights" that much more difficult to see? i have some concerns now that this was brought up. as for a geocoin that features many different translucent colors, textures, and metal finishes...i think it would be a great tool for anyone thinking about having a geocoin produced to have. i would want one. i don't mean to take the thread off topic, but thanks for the feedback. PM me if your reply might derail the thread. I think if you are going to use the entire pantone color range for translucent coloring, then you would need a PMS color chart. They are sold on ebay among other places. No coin is going to be able to hold them all. I would love to have a set with just the 24 hard enamel colors. I'm not interested in glow or soft enamel, but I'm sure others will be.
  23. I knew what the charts were. I'm just interested in the 24 hard enamels because that is what we use in the projects. And I'm interested in having all the metals too!
