  1. Hello everyone, I have the PQ being delivered to my email and will load them tomorrow onto my GPS. Once I have them loaded is there a way of putting these in some kind of order or numbered. I need to make easy for me to read since I am new to this. Like I have said, I have a Gramin Oregon 650T. Any help would be great. I am planning on being a Bob's on Friday night so I will be asking a lot of questions from the pro's. LOL
  2. Hello, I am brand new to this. Where do I find the information I need to find the caches? Can I load them all into my GPS at one time or do I do it one at a time. Any help would be great. I am using a Garmin Oregon 650T. Thank you for your help. I am looking forward to doing this. John
  3. Did you get this problem solved? If not this is what I did. I am a Newbie also. I have the Garmin Oregon 650T. I am using windows 10 also. I made me a folder on my desk top and labeled it GEOcache. then I ran a Pocket Query and had it saved to that folder. The I unzipped it. Then I went to my file explorer. once I found out where my Garmin was located, "has to be plugged into your computer", I dragged over the unzipped Pocket query and saved it to my Garmin in the GPX file. It worked great then. Hope this helps.
  4. Thank you kunarion that was the answer I needed. I am starting to get the hang of this. LOL it will take a little time and I will have it figured out.
  5. I wanted to ask about when I am looking for a cache and I find it, then I would like to add notes to this cache. Can I add them to where I have the cache page open to or do I need to go to the waypoint manager to add note there. When I up load to my computer do these up load also so I can start a log of me own to keep ? If someone could help set me straight here it would be very helpful to me. I am still learning but I am getting the hang of it. Thank you Garmin Oregon 650T
  6. I sent one message yesterday. About an hour later I remembered something else that I wanted to tell the other person and them the message part was not working at all. Kind of frustrating when you need to tell someone something.
  7. Ok, thank you I might be asking a little more questions when I get stumped.
  8. I have it figured out now I think. I have it set at Track Up. Still have a lot to learn on this thing. LOL! Thank you for your help. Do you have an Oregon650T?
  9. I am brand new at Geocaching. I like the way this sounds and I am planning to attend. I live here in Yakima. I have a new Garmin Oregon 650T that I am trying to get all figured out. Would there be anyone attending this that has one be able to give me some helping tips on using this? I am stumbling through it but I am getting frustrated. LOL Slowly but surly I will get it figured out.. LOL
  10. I chose mine because I am a Professional Santa Claus. HO HO HO and off I GEO!
  11. Hello, I was going out to find my first GEOcach using my new Oregon 650T. I have loaded it with my pocket query. I choose the cache that I wanted to go find and I noticed that the directions was totally opposite than I was facing. The map was like backwards to what I was expecting. Does this not go by true north? Do I have to turn the whole GPS to make it work in the right direction? I thought it might turn automatically with in the GPS unit. Maybe I am not seeing something or thinking differentially. Could someone help set me straight. I did calibrate my compass so it is right.
  12. hello, if you have not found your answer to this you can go up to my question and find out how I did it for the Oregon 650T. I was having a heck of a time getting it into my GPS but now I have it. It is listed under "I am new at this" by SantaJohn Hope this helps
  13. Thank You everyone. I Finally got it to work. I made a folder on my desk top and named it GEOCaches. I then down loaded the file to there. Once I saw that it was there I finally got it to unzip. I was having problems with that working. I then plugged in my GPS and drug and dropped it in to the gpx folder. I unplugged my gps and looked and it is there! thank you for the help!
  14. So do I need to down load them to my computer first? If so I should make a file named Geocaching and put it in there? Then do I need to make a file on my GPS so it will be installed there or just drop in in the GPS file on my Oregon650T and let it be there. Like I said I am new to all of this and it feels like I am going in circles. LOL but I am trying and I am understanding a little. It is just things are not real clear in what I have read and I have not found any videos showing just how it is done. they stop just short of that. Thank you for all of your help.
  15. I am new to all of this. I bought a Garmin Oregon 650T. I would like to know; 1) Do I have to load each Geocach one at a time? 2) Can I load more than one at a time? 3) I read something about a Pocket Query. Do I get to chose the geocaches that I want to load to my GPS? I have a Garmin Oregon 650T. Thank you for your help!
