  1. I keep receiving the following error when I use Mapset Tool kit. I am trying to load the IMG maps to my Mapsource. What am I doing wrong?

Error PE11: Preview Map has to be less detailed than any IMG file in the mapset. Change level definition in the [MAP] section to a less detailed.

What version of MapSetToolKit you using??

If you don't a the last version (1.62), download this version and make a test. In the 1.62, level/zoom error was fixed.

  2. Hi!

Could you add this to Toolkit, please?

yes, i will add this feature, but I do not know when I'll do it. This feature is on my to do list.

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Cypherman - We are trying to trackdown an error when installing a mapset to Mapsource with MapsetToolkit.

We get a cGPSmapper error but the output from cGPSmapper scrolls past FAST and then the CMD window disappears. We don't get the "Convert termined" message.

It would be GREAT if you could make MapsetToolkit work like MapEdit when processing a cGPSmapper command. In MapEdit, the output stays open until you click "Close" so it's real easy to review where the error is.

Could you add this to Toolkit, please?

    Thanks

    Bob

  3. Thanks again, Cypherman, for a great product ..

I use Toolkit to "pre-install" my maps and generate the TDB and REG files so I can make an auto-installer with INNO Setup. I run Win XP and can get the correct XP Registry entries from your REG file but I've heard the Vista uses a different Registry key.

If that is correct, is there a way to run Toolkit to make it produce a Vista-compatible REG file on an XP computer so I can see what entries INNO will need?

    Thanks

    Bob

I don't know how but Vista will accept the xp reg keys and place the key in the correct place.

Vista 32 bits and xp place the key at the same place. If you using 64 bits OS, the key is placed in WOW32 branch.

  4. I didn't upgrade from your V1.32 even though you added more features in newer versions. I had everything working great with MapEdit 1.0.40.4, MapsetToolkit 1.32, your GenTYP 0.93, and Mapsource 6.13.7, so why change? In fact, I just uninstalled Mapsource 6.15.3 tonight and went back to 6.13.7 after testing my custom maps.

I thought that Garmin had changed Mapsource 6.14.x so that you MUST use Families and Product=1. Why have you changed Toolkit to allow Products = or > 1 ??

    Bob

Why change?? Because it's more stable, support routing, change maps priority and transparent, full compatible with mapsource 6.14,6.15 (1.32 it's not full compatible, you can make crash mapsource with MSTK 1.32)

    Check this tutotial: http://sites.google.com/site/scdiscdi/mstk...?attredirects=0

    thanks a lot.

  5.

There was a problem with custom maps that didn't use a Product Code=1 and an "acceptable" Family ID number. I use 3 digit FID's (in the 5xx series), TYP files to customize the "road" colours, and I'm still on the old V1.32 MapsetToolkit.

    Hi Bob!

In the next version of MapSetToolKit, you will be able to create custom maps with a product code 1 or greatest. With the current version (1.50), just click on EDIT button to change the product code. In this screen you can use a different product code(1 or greatest). Version 1.50 fix more bugs and full compatible with mapsource 6.14.x and 6.15.x.

  6. I am trying to take a Canada Enhanced basemap and make it transparent. I am starting by using 1 of the maps from the CD. I have followed all the directions and everything seems to work correctly untill I try to start Mapsource. I get a error I can copy to the clipboard and then it shuts down. The files are there as well as registry entries. I have to remove the mapset to get Mapsource working again. Any ideas? Will error report help?

    Thanks

Mapsource cannot find TDB or img (preview map) file or TDB and imf (preview map) is not valid. Check your registry TDB and BMAP if each file is present in your HD

The TDB and img files are there where they should be. The registry is correct. I suspect TDB or img files are not valid. What could be wrong. I followed the latest instructions in post above and also used 1.18 ver of Mapsettoolkit. The only difference is I am using a Mapsource map (from Garmin Canada Enhanced CD) instead of creating my own. All I want to do is make it transparent.

Can you send me your img map, img preview map and TDB?

    I will check that

  8. C:\gpsbabel 133>gpsbabel.exe -p "" -t -i tpo2 -f "Cabin.tpo" -o gpx -F "testoutp

    ut.gpx"

TPO: The input file does not look like a valid .TPO file.
