Improved Export From Gsak To Memory Map
The Mars Bars replied to roolku's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
No major probs..just make sure you do what PUP says below..... Whilst the Roolku script that we all use for our custom exports from GSAK to Memory Map gives us the ability to send a great variety of icons, how often do you need to see where all the caches are that you own or have found etc? I don't really take much notice of whether an icon shows a TB in residence either. I have the export set up just in case I want to see where all the caches are that I have found/own for nostalgic reasons but I now use a selection of the custom icons along with the "Memory Map export selectable from the <File> <Export> menu in GSAK. This new way of working allows for the export to Memory Map of the associated child waypoints such as "Parking" which shows up as a car icon and "Stages of a Multicache" for which I use a red flag. The cache icons link to the HTML pages just as they did with the "custom export" and in fact so do the child waypoint icons. Sorting out the way GSAK and MM reference each icon took a bit of messing about but now I have it sussed it's great! One of the benefits of upgrading to V7 is that the exports name the icons and HTML files using the Groundspeak waypoint codes rather than just the number order from the filter. This has the benefit that they will always reference the correct page even if the two exports were created from slightly different filters. Cheers Dave -
Vango generally make very good tents, I have used one (A Vango Alpha Hurricane) for many years. It was bought originally for a backpacking trip aroiund Iceland. it only weighed 1.7kg but cost an arm and a leg. 4 or 5 years ago we bought another little pup tent by a firm called Campus..these were apparently the budget arm of Khyam...it was cheap..about £40-50 and worked really well for a couple of family outings. I have just looked for todays eqivilent and it seems that they have now chosen to brand it Kyham which puzzled me as it doesn't utilise the normal freaky Kyham system. Prices start at £33.95 for a 2 man but a thre man version was only a couple of quid more...seems really good price to me. Link to a supplier.... No connection.....shop around

Lolly you are EVIL! Sounds like it really will be "The Only Gay Cache in the Village" after all!! Why not attach a flashing disco strobe light to it too? Who'll be the first DNF? ..or even WNF for that matter! Cheers Dave

That was my intention when I had it powder coated...it was to be a huge sarcastic TB called Micro Catcher as a light hearted poke at rural micro's in woodland or hedges! ...and part of mine and PUP's mission to release daft TB's...see "Flipping Nuisance" and "Evil Feathers" for more info.. Fimo covered micros ar cool btw Lolly, they are one of the exceptions to the rule..rule? What rule? I know we all play it our own way yahdeyahdeyah I thought it was more suited to Lolly however when I'd got it done.. Don't know about "Girly" It will definately be the "Only Gay Cache in the Villiage" Cheers Dave

Ok another picture question.. What and where is this? Full coords required for a ding... -
We should have enough "support vehicles" to enter from one end and emerge the other I would have thought... Seeing Lollybob tonight so I'll ask her for some info as she has a few caches by the southern entrance. I'd like to do the full length... Cheers Dave

This is getting to sound more and more like the Farmer with a chicken, a fox and a bag of corn to ferry over to an island and only one of the 3 will fit in the boat with him at a time. Being a Mars Bar I can't be left in the boat with anyone...what are we to do! Cheers Dave
-
That's:- 1 x Mars Bar, 2 x Balders and a Zoomlens for the 28th... Only max 3 in the boat at a time...so we will have to take turns in ferrying around to the towpath. Cheers Dave

A few of questions.... When can this be done...when is it being archived? Night cache? 28th or 29th Jan? Only asking because I'm working at NEC on those days and have an inflatable that I could bring along. However I'm working until 6pm both nights so it would be after 7pm before I could get to the area. Cheers Dave

I visited during the summer of 1992 and the arch was washed away during the annual thaw in the spring of 1993 so that's a big Ding for SP. The falls are called Ófærufoss and are situated in the Eldgjá chasm in central Iceland. Cheers Dave -

I thought it wasn't a bad pastiche, anyway my guess for the demise of the daughter of the waterfall lava bridge is: 1991 Big hint so this doesn't go on forever...It can't have been 1991 as that was the year before I stood on it.
