  1. I'd be more than happy to help. Just let me know what I can do. Ely, is quite close (8 miles) to the Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambs border. It has regular buses, a train station and plenty of venues that I can vouch for. And of course there are some excellent caches already in place. (Couldn't resist it) Just a suggestion.
  2. The 2 ammo boxes have been very gratefully received by myself and should be appearing in this neck of the woods (Cambs) in the not too distant future. Thanks Sam.
  3. Within 25 miles of Chatteris, Cambridgeshire there are 121 caches, of which 2 are mine and I have found 54 of them.
  4. The wife and I would be interested in attending. It's about time we met face to face Mr Nibbler.
  5. Will anyone be able to record this and post it so we can all hear how you do. When is it? I just found their website so I guess we can listen online. http://www.lbcnews1152.co.uk/
  6. Absolutely! A few weeks ago we were attempting the rather excellent Your Mission... by Pharisee (we haven't completed it yet). We were walking across some hills, about a mile from the car and the heavens opened drenching all five of us to the skin. We cried at the absurdity of it that day . However, 30 mins later, back at the car and sipping hot chocolate we reminded ourselves that it all adds to the fun and the adventure.
  7. I've seen a couple of new caches recently that have had something a bit special in as a prize for the FTF (sadly it wasn't me). Is this a relatively new idea, accepted practice or generally up to the individual that sets the cache. I have read that $1000 prizes have been left in the past in some caches in the US. Firstly, what do you think? Secondly, what's the best prize/trade item you found? Mike.
  8. I meant to post this in the United Kingdom forum but what the hay.

  10. This is the best I could do with Windows Paint! Looks like I've had a capuccino though. Mmmmm
  11. I got to sleep at about 3am in the end. I'm at work now and extremely tired.
  12. Are there any web-based GSAK clones that you know of?
  13. I'm not familiar with Wine, WinXP and vmware so I'm going to go off and investigate. Thanks for your input.
  14. In recent months I have been playing with/learning to use Linux. I have just about decided on Suse as my favourite flavour and I have had this running on a PC for a while now. (I haven't completely got rid of my microsoft PC yet). I was wondering whether anyway else uses Linux and what software options are available for viewing gpx files etc.
  15. Just found this. I think it explains. The Stone
  16. Let's not turn this into a grammar lesson. There is no snow here in sunny Ely, Cambridgeshire yet. However, we are going to Frisco, Colorado for Xmas, for 2 weeks. I understand we are going to have al least 3 feet of snow then. Woohoo!!!
  17. Picture 3 looks like nobby.nobbs to me. I don't know him personally, but I recognised his picture from his profile.
  18. Chatteris in the Fens of East Anglia (carrot country).
  19. It was great fun running around in the dark. I took my son with me and we occasionally saw other torches and were worried we were going to get beaten to the cache. I have noticed that some seem to be quite competitive and are racking up quite a few FTF notches on their walking sticks but now I've got one I will relax (I think, till the next new cache pops up).
  20. I cache just for fun but I have to admit to racing out last night in the pitch black to get my 1st FTF. It was freezing too. I got the FTF too! Woohoo!!
  21. That seems to have worked. Thanks for the advice. They don't look at all like me do they!?
  22. I tried to post piccies of my kids but I couldn't get it to work so I gave up. Do you have to have the photos stored on the web somewhere first or can you upload them from your PC?
