  1. tried posting a link to a map of the first site but it didn't work.
  2. We have a couple of places in mind to hide caches. The problem is that I don't know who to ask permission from and if I even need to ask. The first place is where some roads come together. It forms a triangle at this spot. There is several trees and under growth in the triangle. The is plenty of room to park safely and hunt safely. My question is do we have to ask someone permission to hide a cache there? If so, who do we ask? The second place is the national forest by our house. There are caches already hid in parts of it. Do we ask permission to hide caches there? If so, who? Thanks ahead of time. We are eager to hide our first cache and want to do it right.
  3. Here's one...this is the first I have come across. I was looking at this cache to possibly go to tomorrow. Going to skip it though until hunting season is over. Don't want to make the hunters mad while we (me, my husband and 4 little kids) go tromping through the woods. I found this log while looks at the cache page. May 3, 2008 by XXXXXXXXXXX(XXX found) I'm going to claim a find since I found the first cache and got the location of the second. Since this is Louisiana and not Arkansas, I could not go get the second cache on my ATV. I was not allowed to ride down the public road on my ATV.
  4. Well, after I had asked about this I had posted an NA. I check on its page every few days but nothing has been done about it. I emailed the reviewer to ask him about it but never got anything back. Oh well, I guess the nasty one stays. I feel sorry for whoever finds it next. It was so nasty and stinky from the mold.
  5. OK, so, if I have say 1,000 on the card will I be able to access them on the rino?
  6. Well it happened. I ran out of room for waypoints on my Garmin Rino 530 HCx. So I guess I need to get a micro SD card. So, what I am needing to know is this, how many waypoints will a card hold? I know that it depends on the number of gigs but what is the average per gig? Also, will my gpsr automatically recognize it and read from it or will I need to tell it to read from it? Also, what is the best way to load waypoints on to the card, through the gpsr or putting the card in the computer then put it into to the gpsr? We are about to leave on a trip so I was trying to load waypoints before leaving and my rino said it was full. That's kind of a problem.
  7. The spot is a good spot and I wouldn't mind placing one there but I don't want it to see like I ran the other one off so that I could have the spot. By the way, if it does get archived, what becomes of the other container?
  8. How do I find out who the local reviewer is?
  9. OK, I just requested it be archived. I am new to all of this so I'm not sure what all happens from here. This is what I understand to happen: 1)reviewer looks at it 2)may disable it so owner can fix it 3a)if owner fixes we are back on 3b)if owner does nothing it gets archived Then what? A new cache can be placed there? What happens with the nasty old one that is still there? There isn't much (or hasn't been much) traffic to this site so there isn't anyone else helping to maintain it.
  10. Here's the cache...there was a needs maintenance already posted (April 2009) and then I posted another one recently. The Forgotting Spa-
  11. I see sometimes where people have adopted a cache. How do they go about doing that and why? There is one about 10 miles from my house (which around here is really close) that is in pretty bad shape. The last few people have logged about it being moldy. In fact, the first mention of mold was back in 2006 and there hasn't been any mention of it being fixed. The owner hasn't been on geocaching.com for over a year.
  12. I live in the "country" and wanted to place a cache on our land but near the road. Is this a good idea and is there anyone that has done this before? I thought it would be a cool way to meet other cachers and also send off and maybe one day get back our TBs.
  13. I have come across some TBs that have a note or card with them telling their goal and other info about them. They also have info about what to do with a TB and geocaching in general. Does anyone have one that I can copy from? I meant to copy the ones I came across but forgot and placed them before copying their note. Thanks in advance. Jessica
  14. Is it possible to put in my route and be given a list of geocaches on or close to my route? I am headed out of town in a few hours and would like to be able to get a list without actually having to move along the map trying to find them. Thanks in advance.
