  1. Congratulations! Change your mind about coming to Oxford and I'll buy you a pint! Hx
  2. All the best out there, one DNF is one more attempt than i've made on any here (Greece) yet! Hx
  3. 31 Helen in Mustardland, (5.09 am, nervous ) 200
  4. Thankyou all for your very kind words and wishes! Helen
  5. Ooh, flashbacks to last weekend, taking a slightly circuitous route to Motorway Madness M6 because i'd missed the direct path cos of the sign being buried in a hedge... whereupon I came upon the bovine equivalents of Vicky Pollard and her mates. < Acow may come running towards you, but she will stop and tell you to go away before attacking. She will give a deep head nodding/bobbing gesture and blow air through her nostrils quite hard to say "[push] off!". > Yes she did. Unfortunately coming between me and a chance of returning to the stile over which i'd climbed to get into her and her girl gang's field... And there was a lovely 6' spiky hedge next to me. Then she decided she hadn't scared me enough (WRONG!) and did a veritable bull impression, putting her head down and pawing at the ground with a foreleg! At which point FORTUNATELY the hedge gave way to a barbed wire fence which I vaulted with alacrity! Upon opening the cache, I found the last cacher had left it "booby-trapped" with a springy rubber monster in the top which jumped out at me. Last straw! Spent the next five minutes grovelling for cache contents in the stinging nettles - LOL!
  6. Congrats DRC!!! As one of its newer inhabitants, may I be among the first to welcome you to the Hall of Fame! But as for catching up the cache-hoppers, that's Easy Peasy! Even mustardlanders can manage that! ;-) Now how long will it be before you go scooting by me, I wonder? And I have all Oxford on my doorstep.
  7. i would love to hear the sound of yours and everyone else's voices but unfortunately i'm too much of a technonumpty to work out how to play it. Clicking doesn't seem to achieve much.... any ideas?
  8. One tent with at least one adult in it and possibly two (if I can persuade him.)
  9. LOL doesn't look like I need to - once again everyone's written my confessions for me! (Just like in the chatroom, in fact!)
  10. Anyone got Oxon yet? (Since qichina's beat me to Essex)
  11. Darnit, an event on my doorstep (albeit my weekday doorstep) and I'm not going to be able to make it. I do have a reasonable excuse, going to be on honeymoon. Will still be keeping an interested eye on this thread and the listing. Helen
  12. Huh, don't know about that, unless someone's taugh Tush what a kebab is! And it won't let me start a fight either, it insists i have to be male to do that. some of the other pastimes aren't bad though!
  13. It has to be the Quest for the Ring of Power if it's back up and running! (I still wear the particular Ring of Power i got from the final cache every day. Haven't quite taken over the whole of Middle Earth yet but i'm working on it!)
  14. Particularly if you've had a DNF and want everybody to laugh at you about it.... /me pretends to be grumpy! See you there!
  15. Couldn't agree more! Which is why I don't do that. Each to his or her own, though. (Although if i see anyone's logged my one and only roaming coin who hasn't actually been anywhere near it, I shall be suitably scathing and delete their log! I don't like Archaic behaviour )
  16. Number 2 should be easy bargee ..... I'm feeling picked on! Bargee, you have several months head start, and PPs, you aren't simultaneously planning a wedding, doing up a house and commuting stupid miles to work..... oh, plus there's only one of me so by rights you should have to divide your total in half to compare it to mine! ... just you wait til I get started on these lovely Oxford ones, I'll soon overhaul you again! H
  17. Ooh goody what a useful topic. Having moved to oxford nearly a whole two weeks ago, i should by rights have done all the caches here by now! And my current tally is.... a whole ONE (and that the TB hotel which I could've got anytime I was passing!) Will keep an eye on this thread. And if anyone fancies doing some joint caching in Oxford any Monday to Thursday evening after fiveish, please give me a shout! H
  18. Oh! Definatly blame her! "I blame Helen myself" is a family saying.... although personally I believe Bargee has a lot to answer for!
  19. The first TB I found ever, which I left in Pembrokeshire, was with my dad on the south coast of England only one cacher later! And i've just found and logged two TBs yesterday that I was rather surprised to find had been left in the midlands (not local to either of us) by my sister and brother-in-law.... are there actually really that many of us playing this game?
  20. 16.7 miles from me (Essex.) That's quite cache-sparse. Running out of land to the east doesn't help much either I suppose
  21. Knew you'd get there. CONGRATULATIONS! Wish I could've been there. I'll buy you a congratulatory couple of halves at the next opportunity! Hx
