Where to "Acquire" Ammo Cans.....?
ProjectFred325 replied to DorkX2's topic in General geocaching topics
Key an eye out in the NW threads, there is a cacher up here that buy straight from the surplus auction and will deliver to local geo-events or midpoints. You can get cans for 3-4 dollars each. -

OK I'll bite and add our novel to the thread. When we where expecting our first rugrat, I was working at a large software company. Said company called all new systems in development "projects". A friend at church wanted us to name the child Fred. We did not want to know the sex of the lil one until the birth of the child. SOOOOOOOOOOO projectFRED was born. We just added our aniversary for fun. -

Don't be taking jobs from all those hard working American rocks and giving them away to those illegal rocks. Check those papers. DON"T MAKE ME CALL I.C.E. I'll do it. I will

two LEO issues up in the northwest... 1) a town has all outlawed caching inside its boundaries. The police in the city have found and destroyed several caches in the city and left notes "game over". One of the Caches as inside a private cemetary not owned by the city in honor of a Medal of Honor recipient. A great story that I would have never learned w/out caching. 2) A local geocacher was arrested and held at gunpoint for caching. No warrants, not tresspassing. I was unable to find the tread. As with all professions there are some bad apples, but the vast majority of the LEO out there are doing a tough job to keep us all safe. Thanks

A great "cluster" area for us is Tacoma'a triangle....aka Pt. Difiance. Some great caches, some great scenery. Caches for kids and adults. Easy ones and tough ones. Fearfuls and multis, puzzles and traditionals. And if ya mistep on one or two you can meet Tacoma Fire's high angle rescue team

McNeil and Any Pages Total encompasing the base will be excluded for obvious reasons. Anderson WILL NOT be excluded. I have not looked at a current copy only saw 2 pages exlused in my ancient copy. -

Let me first say if I did affended, I appologize. IT WAS NOT intended. We all can learn from deafhunt. Skarr, our little cacher has been taught ASL since he was 6months. It has been a wounderful expierience for the whole family. We continue to work on his vocabulary still. "Signning Time" PBS Ch 9 Sun 0730

Any interest in a King County Thomas Guide Challenge?
ProjectFred325 replied to TeamIDFC's topic in Northwest
What about a Pierce County Challenge? I just looked at a Tommy guide only one page not doable due to bases and a couple real challenging pages tht could be fun. I'd run it if some one would help with the tech side. Side bar.... was reviewing my counties and just found 4 of my 15 done counties had been archived so now I have to go redo the counties. Thin I am just going to give up on that challenge unless I really start to push for the WDC too. Getting Over to NE counties isn't the easiest thing and now that family isn't there any more, no real reason to go. -
From some of the luck I have had cahing recently; there ARE too blind cahers.

Seattle City Parks Dept. Policy on caches in Discovery park.
ProjectFred325 replied to nevcowpok's topic in Northwest
I just wanna add my .02 into the ring... This has been an interesting thread to watch. Lighting has done a GREAT job on this passionate issue. I had plans for an assalt of the park this summer now that lil man can keep up, hopefull it is still doable. Anyway, I know a LOT of people have an interest in this issue, but IMHO, we need to play by park rules, for now (as unfair as they may be). Have a 2-3 person group working w/ the parks department and Groundspeak. The rest of us need to step back and advise via the forums. As the ol' saying goes too man chef ruin the soup... I feel we as a community will get a more welcome response if we just have the few liasions instead of a mass attack. Maybe an idea for all parks and parks Departments as MIS has shown so well in Seatac. I kick myself for saying this...... BUT I WILL VOLUNTEER MYSELF TO WORK WITH TACOMA PARKS OR PT. DE FIANCE to prevent this same issue from happening there. Rich projectFRED325 -
I am interested in 10 no more th $4 a piece.
