  1. Pt Defiance you can easily get a dozen in a day, without too much effort. Yes its a drive. A great way to get quick numbers quick, are the cach machines. I have seen people with 50 plus in a LONG day. Vashion will get 20 or so for a nice day trip.
  2. 1.5 hours drive time depending on pass pass conditions and what parking lot you choose to start.
  3. Currently there are none IN the zoo. The zoo is doing a program introducing people to the world of geocaching.
  4. I've heard the same thing about retirees and money.
  5. This needs a cacher near Aberdeen, anyone no anyone done there?
  6. Loooks like we will not be making this one after all. We gotta get to a cachemacine one of these times, soon.
  7. UMMMMMMMMM cougar gold, and Ferdinands too. But the old location was much better. New one is too far out of the way. I lived in Gannon too. I had to take a class and learn how to make both the ice cream and cougar gold. Did you know they sold meat too?
  8. I am so very proud to say I am a COUG! I was on the crew team too. I am a Coug to the core, I have the beer gut to prove it. I bleed crimson and gray. Even have a great uncle that was the head of the account department. Why was Jesus not born at Ewe Dub... Couldn't find 3 wise men and a virgin.
  9. I want to pack the car for a road trip.
  10. On a sidebar but related note, is there a liason between Tacoma parks and geocachers or Groundspeak to prevent the discovery park issue from happening down here? Anyone know?
  11. We found our first hide when our son was five month old and have been hooked ever since. He even teeth lil yellow etrex until the rubber ring fell off and we upgraded to a 60CS, then he teethed that. Now at three he has many geocaching friends and beggs to go out on treasure hunts as he grads the GPSr. He carrys his own lil pack w/ trade items and snacks in the car. He help the Flash Light in the stroller as he walked the tunnel to the APE cache. He has 2 FTFs and to hides to his credits. Kids are great fun on the trains and bring a lot of joy to the sport.
  12. I SOOOOOOOOOO WANT ONE OF THE AMMO CAN BUS/TRUCKS!!!!!
  13. snakes in a cache.. is that the follow up to snakes on a plane? Is Samuel L Jackson in this one too?
  14. It's true, I just got my copy in the mail today. I looked in it after reading this and my jaw dropped. What a cool thing to do.
  15. Name – Real Name/Geocaching Name (Real name not required): projectFRED325 Rich, Leah and Reece Location: Tacoma, WA How long have you been geocaching? Just over 3 years Do you go geocaching with a group or team? We cache primarly as a family How many caches have you found? We found number 635 today 3/5/08 How many geocaches have you created? What factors do you consider when choosing a location for a geocache? (Practicality, personal reasons, etc.) We have place 8 caches, including 1 event. As the primary hider, I concider other caches in the area. Is there a reason to bring someone here? What is the purpose of this cahe? I have one located at a bell from a WW2 warship another at on overlook for a former superfundsite that has been cleaned up and is becoming a nature preserve a third place to meet a challege put out by another chacher. Why do you enjoy geocaching? Great family time together. We started when our son was 5 months, he is three now. He, loves going on treasure hunts. Do you prefer urban or nature geocache hunts? Why? We prefer the more urban caches as we are not the most in shape people and can not yet complete the long hikes and climbing involved with more remote areas. How did you get started, and what was your first geocaching experience like? We saw it on a local news and local interest show and said lets try. I looked into it on the web and found we had a cache 2 blocks from our house. We went out one Sat. morning, spent a little time walking around the woods getting frustrated and we where hooked. What’s your experience with muggles? "What are you doing?" If I had a dollar for everytime I heard that.... most people are curious as to what you are doing. I have had 1 police officer hassle me, explained what I was doing luckily had the "what is caching?" pamplet with me. and he went away. What’s the furthest you’ve gone to find a geocache? 550 miles, but it was during a trip we had to take anyway. kill two birds with one stone. What was your toughest or most unusual geocaching experience? (Details, please!) The day I got 50 wasp stings. the 3 mile hike thru the moutain, in a old train tunnel with 40 new friends for one of the most famous caches in the US. One of the 3 "Holy Trinty" caches. Anything else you’d like to share? The best part of caching has been the family and friend. Minimal investment for a lifetime of memories and friendships. We have made friends stronger and faster than anything else we have ever done Hope this helps your article.
  16. This thread has too changed how I log my finds. As a owner, and a seeker of caches I enjoy reading cache logs for info on the hides. Yesterday we went after a multi that had not been well maintained. My PDA died and I had no info, had able to get my phone to GC website and read recent logs and get enough info and hints to find the final and claim the find. It took some work not a give me but not a wasted trip. as with every entry, so long and thanks for the cache
  17. I am starting a colection of personal items as well, please contact me if interested in helping me to build my colection. thanks
  18. Do we want to look into a "group" rate at a location? Is there a meeting Friday night? If so what time? Hotels.com has some desent rates. Anyone in the area that can give a heads up on hotels? We are hoping to be there.
  19. I personally feel each cache should be independant and not rely upon other caches to be found. Now TB is another thing, but there is a large number of caches near here that require you to find one puzzle to get info for another puzzle. I think it's lame. just my 2 copper pieces.
  20. Now will the aid car be standing by on site or just waiting in Gorst reserved for Chooch. And has anyone called NWairlight yet? LEGOS?? did I hear legos? Is there an age limit on the Lego table?
  21. non PM members can only watch 100 caches.
