Why Why Why leave junk people?
ProjectFred325 replied to Viking1967's topic in General geocaching topics
My one daughter wants to make friendship bracelets to put on caches, but I will tell her now not to do it since someone like you will think it is trash. I hope she makes some! And can make some "business"/caching cards cards to go along with them. I LOVE finding personal sig items in caches, and trade heavy for them. I collect them and if I found a friendship braclet made by a young woman I would value it as much as some of the rare sig items I have come across. The handmade ones are my favorite. Anyone, including me, gan just order something and have a name printed on it. For someone to take the time and handcrat an item and then share in a cache means a lot to me. An the innocence of a child doing it....nuf said. -
Why Why Why leave junk people?
ProjectFred325 replied to Viking1967's topic in General geocaching topics
Well Mr. VIK You have made me do something I have never done before in a thread, and that is rip on a new player. But your rant is just plain ignorant and stupid! 1) As already stated, Mctoys are loved by some. My three year old sone for one. Some people love Mctoys so much there ARE collector guides for them and some can collect very high prices. N you are not likely to find them in a cache, but you never thought youo could buy a Monet at a Garage Sale either. It has happened. 2) Pieces of yarn... have you ever thoought it might have fallen off a nother piece of swag, like a book mark. 3) An itunes car.. how long has it been in the cache. Now sir, before you start ranting and telling everyone how to play the game might I request you get a little more time and a few more than 80 cache under your belt and actually see what this sport is all about. I will take a mctoy out of a cache anyday, I am building a mctoy themed cache and am building stock. what do I replace it with, depends on whats in my bag..a lanyard from a tradeshow or a little trinket. A lot depends on what is in the cache. Is there a theme. Right now I am leaving golf pencils I had printed, 2 or 3 in a cache as a personal sig item. Never know when you will need a pencil and a lot of caches collect sig items and I wanted something different. I have left book, flashlights, beanies. MCTOYS , TB, coibs pathtags and justabout everything you can think of including a pair of shoes. So Vik as the self proclaimed swag expert, what do you leave at caches? -

please excuse my poor thread etiquette, Mrs Shop99er (TTUMS) Perdóneme para mi francés pobre. Dije que fue muchos años. (Forgive me for my poor french. I said it was many years.) And knowing Mrs Shop99er (TTUMS), I AM VERY SCARED to attend any of her, any other, or even my own events this summer. Heck I'm gunna what what she gets published very closely too, she's evil. In a good way.

Library Themed Caches
ProjectFred325 replied to Under the Stars's topic in General geocaching topics
Spuposed to be one in Spokane, WA inside the library in a book, on a shelve. A guess a "book vault". And there was "shhhhhhh" in Covington, WA (98402), currently disabled, while library is being rebuilt. -
What part of Eastern Idaho? The panhandle or down closer to the Oregon border? There are a hole lotta cachers in both areas. check the NW regional site. Another way to meet some of the local cachers will be the cache-machine in June in Misoula. Also check Idaho geocache assoc. I'm sure there is one.

Ask any Pastafarian... global warming is caused by the declining number of pirates worldwide. The Pirates of Watermans Bluff have been up to no good I have been told, and thus the true reason for the snow in the area. -Ramen

ProjectFred325 replied to sdarken's topic in General geocaching topics
Did I hear caching and beer? Where does the line start? -
DID anyone see the reason behind why he pulled his caches? Its not that he wanted to, he was harrassed into pulling all the caches by a couple of cachers. The few caches I did of his where very good,

What are your thoughts on...
ProjectFred325 replied to PrincessBTigress's topic in General geocaching topics
I am starting a themed cache soon based on mctoys. Just cause our son has soooooooooo many some people like em some people hate em. There is a local napolean dynomyte cache that is loosing some of its luster as the movie is fading away but was fun it its day. -
Argh, puzzle caches frustrate me!
ProjectFred325 replied to SnowBird690's topic in General geocaching topics
Boy some good posts have been posted here and I sorry you are having trouble with the puzzle. Juicepig's post was very interesting. I too was able to zip to an answer on this one but, I understand your pain. I had a puzzle that the owner and I went back forth 6 e-mails each before I finally got the answer. Hang in there you will get the ah ha moment. This puzzle gets my stamp of approval, like it matters. -
Could I have your opinions on a sig item idea?
ProjectFred325 replied to Buildingblocks's topic in General geocaching topics
I would love to see one of those blocks. I can't wait to find one since you are local. Unless you want to find it in your heart to add one to my small mearger collection of sig items. -
I have been on both sides of this issue. Though it is hard to sometimes to admit the defeat of the hide. But the cache owner may need to know it has been moved or missing. I had one cache that it took 4 visits and a handho;d from cache owner before I found it. I log every DNF and every find. As an owner I am always willing to help a fellow cacher. It helps me develope my skills for the next cache I place. And as I said above it helps me to monitor the statis of my cache. Just my 2 pennies added to the economy.

We send our best to your family and hope everything turns around for you. Don't worry about the PR, all the caches will be ready to return when you are. As it has already been said... family is more important than caching, take care of them. We know the hard work of putting on an event, and y'all do a great job.
