  1. Munin, speaking personally, no. Whilst I appreciate that the marketing effort of Jeep is US focussed (and so it should be) we do appreciate getting the icons across here although we should be happy to get them when some lucky blighter has a new Jeep in their drive stateside. European manufacturers (who are the same big car companies as yours - ie Mercedes/Jeep/Daimler/Chrysler, GM - Vauxhall/Saab/Buick/Cadillac/Chevrolet etc) tend not to advertise like that over here. I think - no doubt someone will put me right on that
  2. I'd send it back - their after-sales service is meant to be brilliant. My Legend is about to go back (a month outside warranty) for having all the rubber move about alarmingly as if it wasn't meant to be stuck to the body.
  3. Wow - one of those big numbers for you folks - big ups from me then!!!!
  4. Very nicely done - sincere congratulations!!
  5. 217 finds, 13 miles (although there are two disabled caches inside that which will throw me seriously out when they come back online)
  6. Very well done indeed - onwards and upwards!
  7. Dave - the RSPB member has invested in Premium membership - seems a bit of overkill for a sock-puppet I would have thought.
  8. I browse the US regions, Canadian, SA, Australasian (and other relevant sites), French and German speaking forums as I require. What really gets my dander up is when I post to "general" forums and get slated for being a Brit. A thread about fuel prices a few months ago resulted in some oik (who is a regular poster) effectively telling me I was unwelcome as I lived on the wrong side of the Atlantic. Good job I have a sense of politeness and forgiveness for a prat who has no international perspective otherwise I'd be a banned member by now. Hang on........breathe in, breathe out. Rant over. Sorry - my loss of sense of humour prevented me from saying that non Brits coming in here usually add something; be it wit, information or just egging us on. Keep it up guys! And those coming for advice prior to a visit, well I'd do the same and hope for a similar response.
  9. Like HH I have experience from the military: in 1976 I was stopped from going on Summer leave along with the rest of my intake and made to sit in the sweltering heat waiting for a report of a fire on Barossa Common, behind RMA Sandhurst. Then we'd rush off in a 4 tonner, clad in coveralls, tucked in at the puttee and tightly belted to stop them igniting, with our old-fashioned beaters in hand while the academy called the fire brigade. Any small fire would have spread...erm, like wildfire. You can't be too careful in this weather.
  10. As a fellow Brit I endorse the WSG84 and lat/long settings for caching, however for checking things out on an OS map by all means switch to British Grid format and Ord Svy GB datum. Works well for me. Now you're here pop in to the UK forums and say hello.
  11. Half a millenium - NICE ONE. We would have been there but for the return time on Sunday - maybe next time.
  12. Dammn, missed this one and it's a biggy. For goodness sake, Alibags, well done and keep it up!!!!!!!!
  13. Woh - absolutely brilliant - very well done indeed.
  14. Also keep your eyes open for an Etrex Camo - exactly the same as the yellow, but don't drop it in the woods! Both my sons have them and love them.
  15. Well done - not long to the second century I imagine
  16. Woh, what a big number. Very well done indeed!!!!
  17. Spent today out with my no. 2 son, Mcd1, and his much older step brother. We did Hallin's new Last Dose series of ten caches which neatly took Mcd1 to a total of 100 caches. So, fellow cachers, I invite you to join me in saying to Mcd1 (or Andy if you prefer) well done and keep it up! Mcd1 in the foreground, T about to make some coffee
  18. Ooh err - what an enormous number. What can I say except............. phenominally well done!
  19. Very nice one indeed. Big ups from Cambridgeshire!
  20. Any newbie's around Godmanchester/Huntingdon - I'll be yer man!!!! OK - I'm very easy to get on with Just email me
  21. Welcome to the pastime, Xavier. Assuming you want to log online do as said by the last contributor, then say what you did for your first find. If you took nothing and left nothing you may find the acronym TNLNSL of use (Took Nothing Left Nothing Signed Log). I've been at this for just over a year here in the UK and I'm loving it. I've introduced both my sons to it (The Amazing Spider Man and Mcd1) and Miss N accompanies me sometimes. Mrs N is ambivalent. Best of luck.
