Who Are The First 100 Geocachers?
teamjack&birdie replied to PULASKI's topic in General geocaching topics
What??? Do you have something personal against the OP? It really seems like you do. -
We did try and 'etch' but that seemed to imprint all the pages behind it as well, then we looked for some kind of rock or stick that would leave a mark... nothing.... not an issue tho, like I said we leave notes... I think listing the trade could prove one was there as much as leaving a mark in mud or other alternative method..

We went to a cache recently that had a broken mechanical pencil with no led. The catch was not listed as a micro or 'bring your own pen' and we didn't have anything to write with. We traded items. How many of you would count this? BTW we logged a note, but that's all we ever do.......

Actually reading the email suggests he did not expect you to make the entire email public. Humdilallah

To the OP, Thanks for bringing this up, after wading throught the usual BS, from the usuals, I learned something.

Who Are The First 100 Geocachers?
teamjack&birdie replied to PULASKI's topic in General geocaching topics
I just read this thread all the way through and IMHO it's a neat one. But I am shaking my head that a moderator would choose the OP's post to target for being disrespectful. These forums are crazy with disrespect and often from regulars or those in the 'clique'. I can hear the 'oh it's better than most forums' already... but say it all day and it doesn't make it true. I won't type the word that keeps going through my head because that would in fact be disrespectful. -
I (we) am one of those that post notes rather than founds. At first I didn't log online, but (with help from these forums) realized it was a disservice to the cache placer and the cache hunters that followed us. We recently placed our first cache and what a thrill it was to read the FTFs log, we check back daily for more logs to read, I will never miss logging a cache hunt again. Sometimes people just have to find their way. Of course it can't be a 'rule', this site is not GeoCaching in its entirety, just currently the most popular site.

Hi guys and gals, Anyone who has been up to the Three Sisters Cache, is there enough water to swim/sade in the pools and is it relatively muck free this time of year? We are planing to go this weekend.... Thanks

Is There A Need To Be So Rude?
teamjack&birdie replied to MadMarty's topic in General geocaching topics
Because someone quotes Monty Python their rude behavior is just their sense of humor? Come on, the guy is rude and snotty in a little borish boy way. The 'power' of owning this site seems to have gotten to him and some of the 'regulars'. So what, let the OP get it off his chest. The site is still run well and the game is fun even if it is in spite of the owner's attitude. -
We placed our first cache!!! cache check it out!!!!

She's Taking All The Swag!
teamjack&birdie replied to Birdsong-n-Bud's topic in General geocaching topics
Well Brian, if you assumed that you were one of the posters I was talking about, well.... that says it all. Were you rude? Arrogant? A hypocrite? A bully? Or were you polite, welcoming, fair and open-minded? -

I reread this thread after reading your post about her finding it. I hope some of the posters here are ashamed of themselves, they should be. For the most part I enjoy these threads and have learned alot here, but I have noticed a certain crowd here who are extremely rude, arrogant, and have forgotten that they too were once new to this game. She sounds like a great person to have caching in your area, I hope she sticks around. -

We would purchase these items, I think more geodog items would sell well. -

You will feel great, I have a feeling. I'm sure someone here will be frustrated about something and wish to discuss it or vent or (prepare the firing squad)... complain. Then you can yourself complain (read whine) about people complaining. Then I will read it and decide whether or not to point out the hypocrisy of it all. -

Is This An Illegally-placed Cache?

THANK YOU! This behavior is shameful, we all can get testy everyonce in awhile, but there is a general rudeness that is just uncalled for. -
