  1. The other day it was three gorgeous Frozen Buns coins! Frosty silver, gold, and silver. Just GORGEOUS!!!!! Yesterday two beautiful MAGC geocoins landed in the mailbox. They really outdid themselves with this one. Love them all!!
  2. Oh, no! Good thing I went back to the original post and reread all the details! Looks like I'll be sending out two more coins to my cacher this week! So don't worry when the first shows up with one coin...a second package will be coming with two more!! (Can you tell this is a first for me?)

  5. I've been getting the feeling that some are placed solely to bust the seekers chops or artificially make the cache harder. That's a great description of micros in our area...my second least favorite to search.
  6. That's just evil! LOL! Multis are my least favorite to look for. They take too much time, they have evil micros like this as one of the stages in some cases, I don't want to walk back and forth from one end of a park to another and back again. In most cases, I'm not even sure how many stages there are to it since many people don't provide that information on the cache page. Would be helpful if they had to choose a number when setting up the page!! It's not worth it to me to hunt an hour and a half to earn one smilie.
  7. Keep the post counts, have the duplicate "finds" automatically deleted. Doesn't look like some of the owners care when duplicates show up. When they happen on my caches, I delete the dupes and let the cacher know why.
  8. I like the round coin, but I like the design on the back of the cut out. But I would most likely buy a couple round coins. Don't really care for cut outs.
  9. I had a bug sit in a cache too long. I posted a note on the cache page asking that whomever visited the cache next, please take it and move it! And if my bugs land in any caches with stipulations of "trading" bug for bug, I'll be posting a note for anyone at all to take it and contact that cache owner. Bugs should be moving. How on earth would we ever get a first bug (unless we sent one out on our own) if they all needed to be traded?
  10. I'm confused? Obviously you're confused because you aren't following the OP's thread. Go back and reread. I'll type slow so you can follow along. "Ownership" in this entire thread has been about the person who places the TB and has made the request that the TB goes to a certain destination. "Control" that is being discussed is when the subsequent TB finders aren't placing the TB where the one who started the TB has asked the TB to go. Simple enough? I actually agree that TB owners have little "control" over where their TBs go. I also would not mind if one of my TBs moved "against its goal." So, in this regard, I sympathize with the OP. What I took issue with was your attitude that "TBs have no owner." The logical consequence of such an attitude is that you can steal or destroy any TB that you wish, since "there is no owner." Such an attitude is completely contrary to the "rules" and spirit of geocaching. Understand now? TBs do have owners. These owners have limited control over the travels of their TB. I have to agree that TBs do have owners. Why else would we have the other part of the tag? Something else I didn't care for was being out caching with people who were headed to Geowoodstock 5. Pick up every TB along the way and take them there? PLEASE don't take any of my TBs there! Especially if it's close to where it should be!
  11. I've picked up TBs without a goal sheet, checked online once home and thought...I wish I didn't take it! In that case, I drop it somewhere nearby or at my next stop. I sent a TB out with a sheet. It specifically said that it was to roam around our area visiting historical sites, etc. since we have so much here. The second person to move it took it to...FRANCE!!!!!! Do they NOT read? Then it went to the islands somewhere after it had been in ENGLAND. I had changed the goal to stop somewhere in England. Never managed to get there. I'm happy someone there said they could take it to an island many Americans visit and it might head back. He was kind enough to repair my TB when it was damaged, and he was kind enough to add a...headed to the USA...paper with it. From the islands it at least got back on the right continent in Canada. Then it was getting closer to home...WV. Yahoo! Went to MD, then the next person took it to NC. Ugh. Couldn't make one stop in VA to be in the correct state? I find it frustrating. I'm still waiting. This person has had this bug a couple months now because I don't want it dropped off in NC. Sheesh. I think my days of sending out TBs are over. I have gotten one back so far. Still waiting for this. I have gone out of my way to get two bugs to people that were headed to their destinations. Once meeting up with someone to take it to FL. Another time left one in a cache where someone would pick it up and take out west with them.
  12. Like you said, people go on vacation or whatever. But a couple weeks still seems quite a while. I had dropped a coin in a cache. For the next couple weeks many of the posts said the coin wasn't in the cache. Then it was at least two weeks later when someone back logged the date of their find to the day they actually visited (a day or so after I was there.) They took the coin. But for those two weeks it didn't reflect very well on the person that dropped it off!!!
  13. If that owner had been me, I would be much less likely to respond to your email precisely because you hadn't logged anything to the cache page. And even if you had logged a DNF, I'm not going to assure you it's in place without going to check it, which may or may not be convenient for me. I'll check on a cache that has received a couple of DNFs. My experience is that usually they're somewhere in the rough vicinity of the coords. Though often shifted from them and sometimes shifted such that the hint no longer works. If I hunt for a cache, any amount of time, and don't find it, I log a DNF. I've gotten rather brief with these, only mentioning a "might be missing" theory if something is extremely amiss. I didn't find it, so I don't know. Similar with me. If I've searched a decent amount of time, I'll log a DNF. And if I plan to e-mail the owner for a hint, I'll log a DNF. When I e-mail the owner and don't get a response back, that's just rude in my book, and I probably write it off. As an owner, if someone posts a DNF on one of my caches, I'll wait until three accumulate before checking on the cache. If they want a hint, they need to send an e-mail and log a DNF.
  14. I agree on this one. I had an event that I responded to, and it was showing up as events I planned to attend in the next 30 days even though it was quite a bit more than 30 days away. It irritated me, so I deleted my "will attend" log so it would go away. Thirty days is more than enough for me on that. One week would work.

  16. Hats off to all those who came across bears! I wouldn't have a clue what to do. Guess I should start reading about that! And Geobernd, I'm so glad you took Blue with you!!! I'm sure Blue's family was thrilled. Shepherd Lake...Sheesh! I know I was there as a kid, but I can't picture where it is. I grew up in Pompton Plains.
  17. Beautiful coin! I'd be initerested in three, one of each metal. LOVE the manatee!! Darling son was born in Boca Raton. And he wants to move back!!
  18. That stinks. I have a coin and ran into someone else saying their coin has the same number. After several months and finally locating the coin, darling son read it with a magnifying glass (his 14 year old eyes needed it!) and found our coin to be a different number! I read it with a magnifying glass! Oops! I set it up for them to adopt the correct number, but they haven't done that yet. Wish I could "unactivate" the coin and get it out from showing me as the owner. Sure wish they would make the tracking numbers larger! I just can't wait to try reading the one on the Hampton Roads GC I'll be getting this weekend. Never saw such MINUTE numbers!
  19. Received mine in the mail today! Will they have separate icons? I ordered one of each...both GORGEOUS!!!! Right now they're together under one icon. Thanks! FANTASTIC job!!!
  20. Bummer!!!!! My nephew has been in Kodiak working for a couple months now. Beautiful coin by the way.
