  1. back in the early days I was a ftf hound, there was another cacher in San Diego I used to battle for the honor, to irritate him I used to log on the last page of the log book then log online when I got home about 7 PM. Ah the good old days. Nutlady like others have said don't worry about it, it's only a game
  2. if you had more time I'd go to Laughlin then up to 40 to Goffs rd and run the 66 to Newberry springs, but your hurting for time
  3. I noticed that he was in the Lodi area, and checked his hides and found we had found a few of his when we were guest hosting at Casswell back in 08
  4. mostly a Garmin Montana 650t but on occasion one of the others I have laying around
  5. We havent done in awhile but in the early days we'd meet and a group of us would caravan 4 or 5 cars from cache to cache and have a ball a lot of laughing and a good time
  6. I only have 2 active right now and drive by them at least once a week, so it's easy to check on them
  7. send them an email asking why they didn't sign the online log, maybe they were in a group that used an online sig?
  8. back in the early days of caching tag-a-long was into Mardi Gras beads and anytime I found any in a cache I'd trade for them, usually a buck a strand, I've spent probably around $2000.00 on those damm beads for her
  9. the easiest way is to download PQs then load them to a sd card they have to be loaded in files with different names, the files will only take 200 caches in each but you can have as many files as your sd card will hold. I think the Magellan explorist forum is still up and you should be able to get a better answer there
  10. have to agree, in fact I canceled my automatic renewal
  11. Leaving 0dark30 Sunday to finish the Heart of The Mojave cache run, Monday out to the Hauser geode fields, and if it gets too hot out there just might go to the river and look for some carp to shoot with my bow, and a little more caching inbetween.
  12. We're heading out Sunday to finish the heart of the Mojave cache run a about 450 caches we'll probably do a few more and also hit the Hauser geode fields maybe run up to Quartzite and check out some of the old desert rats that are still out there
  13. How did you find it!? read the hint just drove down the right street I'll see if I can find it wasn't that hard GCh7cz
  14. I hid my first one about 8 months after finding my first one, and it's still there although I did adopt it out.
  15. it was about 4 miles off I was first last and only finder before it was archived
  16. GSAK? do tell more....... with my explorist I have to keep the files at 200 caches, BUT you can have as many files as your SD card will hold. When the exp 500 was my main unit I had 20 files on the SD card covering almost all of So Cal. I still keep my PQs set at 200 but dump them all together for my montana. on GSAK click on file go to export go down to Magellan explorist and SD card load your card from there, you'll have to load each file separately takes a little longer but it works. Oh one other thing I usually delete 4 or 5 caches from the PQ just in case there is parking added in just remember max caches per file is 200 and load the caches to the SD card did some exploring, found GSAK. The problem is that my OS Windows 8.1 does not see my eXplorist as something it can dump info to. It sees it as a DVD/CD drive with no disc in it.... you can try using just the SD card, hope this helps

  18. I have an older exp 500 and every once in awhile I'll drag it and play with it; I have had no problems using 8.1 and GSAK, I have a half a dozen files on the sd card and no problems loading them
  19. try the explorist forum if it's still up,I haven't been there in a few years but they did have some good info
  20. I've found a few out in the open and placed them where I thought they should be, then notified the owner where I placed them
  21. So if the challenge CO did have rigorous standards hardly anyone would qualify? Your comment seems more to imply that people with over 1000 finds in one day are cheating in some way rather than the CO being sloppy with the verification. Since the stats pages include our best-day count the CO's verification is actually very easy. Depends on one's definition of a find. Seems some standards are quite loosey-goosey. And power cachers like it that way and encourage more of it. Almost anything counts, with the one exception of armchair logs. A find is a throwdown (which many of the ET finds are), or a switcheroo (which most of the ET finds are), or counting any cache that any member of the team finds (which many of the ET finds are, and many group caching finds are). Group caching where some of the group never sees the cache is still OK and not considered armchair logging because they were physically present somewhere along the way, when a group of people got together to cache and all log under one team name.) Stats page is no big deal either. It can be easily manipulated. You check your chart and find the best you've done is 97 caches in one day. So you go back over your caches and change the find date of 3 of them. Ta da, you qualify for the 100 caches in one day challenge cache. It's about sloppy standards, re-defining what a "find" is, and the absurdity of "finds" when it comes to power caching - which most challenge caches glorify. And you know all this how? Your continued progression from something acceptable to total absurdity reflects your hatred and ignorance of power trails. Ah it's just his opinion, and we all know what's said opinions
