  1. I'll wait to use the leather cleaners for the day I look in the mirror and think "My skin looks like Jack Palance's". The OP was asking how to clean sap of his/hers clothes... as for cleaning your skin w/ leather cleaner, I've never tried that. I wonder if Jack has though.
  2. Put out a cache filled with good quality swag. A month later, you find the lock n lock filled with quarters, nickels, and dimes. Thats actually happened to me once.
  3. Really? Do you put those really cheap MP3 players or something as expensive as an ipod/zune? To the OP: I usually like to leave dice. Having a family game night an missing a die?
  4. I would just log it as a note. Its not about the numbers, right?
  5. Most of the time I use my phone camera. Its dang clear.
  6. ook ook? What was that, a monkey? On topic: Ive heard that leather cleaners (especially the ones used for cars) help remove any type of sticky liquid pretty good. So go out, whip some cash, get some car leather cleaners, and boom! There goes the sap!
  7. In my bag- a multitool, some anti-itch cream, a few pencils and my green sig pen, A homemade spray on Tick repellent, some swag (honestly I don't even take anything out of a cache), my GPS, and extra batteries for GPS backup.. Oh, and yes, a hand crank flashlight.
  8. I have found a final of a multi cache (kinda) by accident. I put up a cache for review and I got a note saying the final to a certain multi cache was too close. I took a peek at that cache page and gallery and saw some similarities to where I hid the cache and where the gallery was pointing to. I went back to retrieve the cache, and I thought I might take a quick look. Lo and behold, there was the bison tube!
  9. An area quite close to here has a notorious amount of them around And every single one of them sucked Did they give you a scent that made you want to go to the nearest restruant?
  10. BC? thats pretty close to Seattle, where I live. Both places don't have many ticks, but still there are some.
  11. Actually, I think you just described a seriously fun cache container! DO IT! Yes, but you still haven't answered my question about satisfactory rustproofing of the handle. Rustoleum paint does not adhere well to it at all. Did you try sanding the handle first? That usually does it with anything metal and then the paint should adhere to it. Really fine sandpaper does nothing. Thick sandpaper does not work. The belt sander got out of control and caused some collateral damage.. I don't have one handy for testing (dined at a brewpub this evening) but perhaps you could galvanize the handle. That's it! I can spray zinc on the handle and cold galvanize it. What do I do with the beef and broccoli ? For your beef and brocolli Even worse than a Tick.
  12. Ive found a few tree climbing caches. One was 18 feet up in a tree w/ a 4.5 T rating. I thought it was quite high but that was before I tried climbing it. BOy, that was a killer. Before you do anything else, pick a specific tree that you want to place a cache on. Do the usual check (caches within 528 ft) and then climb the tree to see if the branches can support your weight. Remember, some people weigh more than others. Then you can come back later and place the cache.
  13. Try be in the reviewers shoes. How do you feel?
  14. I applaud you for having the character to not take a smiley for a cache you knew was "illegal." Oh, wait... nevermind. What are you trying to say?
  15. I just made a homemade tick repellent. Hopefully it'll work and "keep the ticks at bay" as the website where I got the instructions said. Some water and twice the amount of white vinegar. And a few drops of Eucalyptus to de-attract the ticks.
  16. Exactly how do you pull it off? If you kill it while its feeding on you or you apply too much pressure while pulling, it will regurgitate its contents into your bloodstream.
  17. Well, according to the Washington state department of health: I wish I didn't read that.
  18. Ive found... The doppelganger one. I found one like that in the georgetown area, it got voted COTM.
