Good to know I'm not the only one with that problem. Right now I'm only seeing Pup Patrol's maps, for everyone else here including myself it's still (or again?) "Requested map does not exist". And while I get your point about this being a particularly busy weekend, unfortunately it's not the first time this has happened. Just like jimmyg7929 I've also experienced this before, like two or three weeks ago and then every once in a while... so I thought it couldn't hurt to report it. Have a good weekend everyone!

I'm sorry for digging this old thread up again, but I'm currently having a bit of a problem with the maps on the statistics page as well. I tried to have a look at my own maps today, but where they should be (the world map and Europe map) was only a small red box saying "Requested map does not exist". Refreshing the page didn't help. Tried having a look at another user's map, same thing there. Tried a third and fourth user, and the maps showed perfectly there. So I guess I can rule out a missing or deactivated flash player/plugin. Is that a known (temporary) bug? ~*SisqoKid*~

Same here... every page I try to open (profile, PQ's, map...) gets me a 500...

Ich bin auch nicht wirklich darauf aus, beim Wandern links und rechts der Strecke Tradis einzusammeln, ich hatte vielmehr gedacht/gehofft, daß es dort ähnlich wie etwa auf dem Rheinburgenweg (GC1PGNZ etc.) oder hier bei uns auf dem Wupperweg (GC22EP0 etc.) pro Etappe einen Multi oder eine Letterbox gibt... lg SisqoKid PS: Thema GeoArt: Der Thunderbird ist ein Fernziel... im wahrsten Sinne...

Hallo zusammen! Ich habe kürzlich erstmals etwas vom 66-Seen-Wanderweg in Brandenburg gelesen, wo man wohl in 17 Tagesetappen einmal rund um Berlin wandern kann. Weiß jemand zufällig, ob es da entsprechende Caches auf der Strecke gibt, vielleicht pro Etappe einen Multi oder eine Letterbox oder so? Hab jetzt auf den ersten Blick nichts entdecken können, aber vielleicht liegt das auch an meiner Unkenntnis des genauen Streckenverlaufs Da kennen sich Locals ja sicher besser aus... lg SisqoKid

Well I only played one cartridge so far since the software update and Safari detour, but it worked perfectly, even when there were multiple choice answers that had to be chosen the way it didn't work while downloading. So, up until today, I'd say playing is still safe and unaffected.

With the little "detour" via Safari it was no problem downloading the cartridges, but does anyone know whether the problem of not being able to make any choices persists when playing the cartridges? It would be a major disappointment if you got stuck in the game because you can't give a correct answer when there are multiple choice questions asked... Also, does anyone know if/when there will be an update to the app to resolve this bug? Thanks, SisqoKid

If you use AdBlock Plus, you can add 1 line to your custom filter to block out that div. 1. AdBlockPlus, Filter Preference... 2. On left, click on Ad Blocking Rules 3. On right, click on "Add Filter" 4. In the text box that appears, type in : ###ctl00_ContentBody_RecentlyViewedCachesPanel hit enter, then "Close" at bottom right corner. Danke euch für eure Antworten! Ich konnte mir mittlerweile auch mal ein eTrex 10 aus der Nähe anschauen und bin auch zu dem Schluß gekommen, daß ich meinem Kumpel besser mal gleich das eTrex 20 empfehle...

Hallo zusammen! Ich selbst bin schon einige Jahre im Namen der Dose unterwegs und bin vor fast zwei Jahren vom etrex H aufs etrex 30 umgestiegen. Jetzt habe ich's aber geschafft, einen guten Freund (der leider ca. 300km von mir entfernt wohnt) so ein wenig vom Cachen zu überzeugen, seinen ersten Cache hat er auch schon gefunden. Allerdings hat er noch kein GPS, sondern ist noch mit Smartphone unterwegs (ich glaube, mit c:geo intro oder so...), und nachdem ich jetzt auch schon von den ersten Mißerfolgen hören mußte ("Kannste knicken, laut Anzeige liegt der irgendwo auf Privatgrund..."), glaube ich, ein "richtiges" GPS kann ihm nicht schaden - bevor er die Lust am Cachen wieder verliert. Ich habe ihm daraufhin als Einsteigermodell das etrex 10 genannt, da ich das jedoch selbst noch nie in der Hand hatte, wollte ich hier mal um Erfahrungsberichte bitten, was das Gerät denn nun wirklich kann... Hauptsächlich interessieren mich folgende Punkte: - Karten: Eine Basiskarte ist wohl vorinstalliert, aber kann man da auch noch beispielsweise OSM-Karten aufspielen? Bzw. wie genau ist diese Basiskarte, sieht man da nur Autobahnen drauf oder auch kleinere Straßen? - Datenübertragung: funktioniert vermutlich genau wie beim etrex 30, an den Rechner anschließen und GPX-Files rüberschieben?! - Speicherplatz: irgendwie konnte ich nirgendwo die Angabe finden, wie groß der interne Speicherplatz denn nun ist (vielleicht war ich blind, passiert mir manchmal... )...? Und kann man den ggf mittels Micro-SD erweitern? So, ich glaub das war's schon, was ich wissen wollte... Danke schon mal vorab für eure Antworten! ~*SisqoKid*~

Thanks for the info! That seems to be a fitting reason in my case, since I attended events on 8/11 and 8/13 and that was about the time the "wrong count" started!

Two weeks and several found logs later this problem still persists. My favorite count is still off by two, meaning I will be awarded the next FP at found #622 instead of #620. I would be really grateful if somebody who has the knowledge and meanings to do so would look into this matter and give me a heads-up on what the reason for this bug is. Thanks!

The problem still exists, so... ideas, anyone?!

I'm having a somewhat similar problem here. I have just a few minutes ago logged find #583, and on my profile overview page it says "Logs Until Next Favorite Point: 9", which would mean I will get the next FP for log #592, not #590 as it should be. My PM will expire in September and I have never had any "lapsed time" as I am on my first year of premium membership. Up until a few days ago the count was correct, I got a new favorite point at #550, #560 etc. But for some reason unknown to me, that changed. I have not logged any cache twice as found, nor have I deleted any logs. Only thing I have done recently is logging a few caches "on the road", using the GC IPhone app. But I have done so before and this has never caused any problems. Any idea what might've caused this incorrect count? Thanks for your help! ~*SisqoKid*~

One of my ex co-workers... he was really into it back in 2010 and asked me whether I was geocaching too, because "you look like somebody who does that"! I was like, err, okay, but... would you kindly tell me what geocaching is?! So he went and told me, showed me the site and the map, and oh so surprising there was a cache hidden in the woods just around the corner from where I live and where I actually used to play a lot as a kid. So we went there after work and searched (and found) the cache and I thought this was kinda fun. I signed up the very same day and found my first few caches with the help of Google Maps as I didn't have my own GPSr yet. Oddly enough, pretty much as soon as I got my eTrex, I never went out caching again for almost ten months... I'd always been hoping my co-worker would find the time to take me on some caching trips, but he never did, and for some reason I didn't feel comfortable going on my own... I finally kinda kicked my own butt to get up and put that GPSr to good use and started going out on my own by the end of last July. And yeah, I've been fully addicted ever since.

I'm missing the "Map this location" link above the list of geocaches near a location... Has it gone or is that just me?

Ich wäre am Montag nach wie vor dabei ab dem frühen Nachmittag. Macht doch mal ein paar Vorschläge, welche Caches euch interessieren würden!

Montag passt mir auch gut, allerdings erst so am frühen Nachmittag, weil ich bis morgens um 5 noch arbeiten muß. Welche Caches, gute Frage. Was würde euch denn interessieren? Ein Multi oder eher ne Tradirunde oder sowas? Treffpunkt würde ich dann davon abhängig machen, was wir uns vornehmen.

Uff ja, das erste lange Wochenende ist ja jetzt durch, aber das nächste steht ja direkt vor der Tür... Wer hat denn Zeit?

Okay, so now I've tried the new maps on my iPhone, like I would when I go out caching... what can I say?! While I might be willing and able to adapt to using OSM on my home computer, accessing GC.com on the iPhone is completely lethal. The pop-up menu where you choose the map won't close, so it already blocks like a quarter of the screen. Since every time we open the map we start with MapQuest, it takes ages to load at all and get you to a point where you can close the slide on the left hand side and see the map in the first place. Groundspeak, you really need to upgrade your update! Soon. VERY soon!!!

Couldn't have said it better! Those new maps suck big time!!! Google Maps had a lot more detailed info on walking paths through parks or forests, not to mention the aerial views and topo maps. The new map is way too slow, it takes ages to refresh when you zoom in on a point (which basically you don't need to do anymore since there is no detail anyway)... And I've tried this at home on my computer, I really don't want to know how long it'll take on my iPhone when I'm outdoors... I'm sorry to say this, but this was a downdate rather than an update. It's been asked already, I know: wouldn't it be possible to make the use of Google Maps a premium member only feature?
