  1. I purchased three coins with a very specific goal in mind. Then I bought my wife the explorist GC and it came with a coin and a TB. I am going to have her create the goals for those two. We have each picked up a traveler, I grabbed a coin and she has grabbed a real fun TB. Its the eyes from a Mr Potato Head that wants to get back to its body. I believe there are other body parts out there too.
  2. That sounds like a fun project. Sorry to hear that it got stalled. If it can make its way to LAX it has a good chance of making it to Tokyo. There are a number of cahces in the area that can hold a TB. Too bad I don't live in Utah though.
  3. Yeah I just ran out for a cache last night. It was one I have wanted to find since starting and I was testing the new GPSr as well. It had three listed, only one was there and was dropped last weekend. The other two haven't been seen since 08 and 09 respectively. I placed a note on the trackable and the cache about the missing items. I did notice that not all of the cache logs noted the missing trackables though. The cache has had a lot of finds over the years and is very popular but the number of notes regarding the missing trackable are very low. hopefully they will get disabled soon.
  4. Thanks for the info I appreciate it.
  5. I am getting ready to cache the bahamas for 14 days and will be going with my wife. Currently only one of us is a premium member. So what is the protocol for logging a members hidden cache with someone who isn't a premium member? I assume its give the cache name so it can be logged, or would the other party need to pay for the membership as well?
  6. I looked into that specific GPSr and it seems to really be geared to kids. That being said did you get the data cable? While it is pre-loaded with caches it isn't necessarily loaded with any near you. You will still need to load caches from the site into the GPSr for those near you that will need the use of the data cable. It seems like it may be a separate purchase item.
  7. I am with everyone here, that you should just put a note in for archiving and then rebuild your own. Maybe put in a needs maintenance log and see if the owner comes out to fix it.
  8. From work I have received many little swag items that I have decided have cluttered my desk enough and its time for them to move on. They are from a number of different companies including mine and would be given away at different public events anyway. So I have decided that since I am getting into geocaching that I would start dropping them in the caches I find. They are various sizes too so I can get them in most of the caches.
  9. Check the cache logs to see if someone dropped the bug and try to contact them to see if they can activate it. Could be someone new that didn't activate it.
  10. I know people are stating that the iphone is not very accurate. But I would like to ask which version. Currently I have an iphone 4 and other than a couple of really well hidden caches I have been on top of the cache maybe within 5 to 10 feet of the cache. There is definitely some searching that needs to happen after that though. You may also want to head out on your own without the kids and the dog as a distraction to get one or two under you belt so you have a better idea of what you are looking for. Good luck and don't give up.
