  1. Could you tell me a bit more? I have a Colorado, more's the pity, and I find its geocache mode almost unusable because it's so hard to do the "corrected coordinates" thing. There haven't been any firmware updates for my device since 2009. What I want to be able to do is just to change the coordinates it thinks the cache is at, so you can go to the next stage but still have easy access to the description etc. Many thanks Richard Hey Morton, check the Garmin website. Just after the new year they added a software update to 3.52. Use your Garmin Web Updater. I'm sure this will help!

  3. I received a quick response! "Thank you for contacting Garmin International. Currently there are no plans that I am aware of to add chirp programming ability to the Colorado unit. Like you said, we just need to, as a group, keep asking. It seamed to work to get the chirp search on 3.52.
  4. There seems to be many threads here in the Groundspeak Forums about the Colorado upgrades. I'm sure that you know now about the 3.52 software upgrade which has added chirp. What I figured out since I uploaded it, is that you can receive the signal BUT you cannot program the chirp! I have sent a note to Garmin Support today to see what their response to adding another 2.XX upgrade supporting programing the chirp.
  5. Looks like us CO owners may be in luck. Dear Jeremy, Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I am happy to help you with this. Yes. The chirp is compatible with all devices with unit-to-unit wireless transfer capabilities. The Colorado 300 and 400 series has this feature. If you have any additional comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email. If replying to this message, Please include all correspondence. With Best Regards, Tyler K Software Support Specialist Software Team Garmin International This is interesting. I just contacted Garmin yesterday and was told there were no plans to add the chirp to the CO. I will have to check mine after I get it back from repair. I just purchased a used but in great condition colorado 300 with Topo map included. (I was told that makes it a 400T but not sure) I updated the software to 3.52 and it added the "Start chirp searching" in the Geochaching mode. Went out and purchased a "chirp" from REI and cannot program the chirp. The option to program the chirp is not included with the update. Also, when i searched for my new chirp it would only find it when I was a foot and a half away. I'm hoping that the battery for the chirp is bad and I will try it again when I get a fresh battery for it.

  7. Where do you go, to find out your renewal date, before it expires? OR, do you get an e-mail to remind you to make your payment? THANKS in advance.
  8. I thought it was Pasco, Kennewick and Richland. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  9. Aloha Surplus 17645 SW TV Hwy. $6 and up, depending on condition. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  10. I say keep it on an existing path or trail. I was in Forest Park today with PDXJIM and there were at least 4 of the 7 caches, I did today, that should be archived or moved. PDXJIM and I counted over a dozen (one to two steps off of the main trail) that would be GREAT cache locations. I covered the area from Nature's TeePee to The Hackie Sack Cache. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  11. GARMIN ETREX LEGEND GPS W/MAPSOURCE CD Item # 1384933868 $150.00 I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  12. If you go to a cache and the contents are in bad shape, tell the owner in your post. He/Her may not know about the contents of their cache. It may have been plundered and put back. I don't think most of us don't want to have our caches looking junky. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  13. I too would rather have the encrypted hint and use the Geocache Hint Decoder!! I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  14. I realy like this new feature. I used to use cut-n-paste with my Outlook NOTES. I'm not having any problems with the download or unzipping the file. Loading onto my Clie' with Palm O/S gives me no problems. BUT the hint now says " Hints available in Appendix 1." I cannot find any hints if I need them now. Any suggestions? I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  15. I agree! You must see the disk. If you can take a picture and post it. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  16. It maybe that the person dropped it off today just b4 you got there and has not had time to get it logged. Or they might be on a mini vacation and will not be able to log it until they return. I would just sit on it a couple of days and check the cache site everyday so you can continue it on its travels. Happy goecaching! I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  17. Its OK. Just go all of the way back to the original page. Then look at it. It does it to me all of the time. I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
  18. I will give this a try this week. THANKS! I maybe lost - but - I'm making good time!
