  1. So if the IRLP net is still going on is it Thursday night still? I connected to the Echolink sites listed and was only able to connect to VE7MTY-L but no one was around. I will try and remember to give it another go Thursday. 73 de KR8U A.K.A. Dennis Team_Fitz

  3. This is my biggest reason for not really hitting Waymarking as much as I could. Having to look for a cat that may be interesting. I have gone by many waymarks that I did not know were waymarks because they were not in the GPS. I really enjoyed the virtual cache and still love the grandfathered ones. Just wish it was that easy to just do a PQ for waymarks in an area and then go.

  4. Anyone here interested in Waymaking? (Former locationless and virtual caches)

There is already a category for Ham Radio Repeaters, but I would like to see othe ham radio categories. I'm think of one for Events -- DXpeditions, Field Days, Special Event Stations, Hamfests, etc.

If you are not familiar with Waymarking, check out the website:

I am interested in Virtuals. I wish they would have left them alone so that they were easy to find and that you could download them from a pocket querie. Sure would make it easier when going on vacation. But I do think that is coming. I have not searched for the repeater one but I will do that and post at least one that is accessible to the public. 5. Picked up a Visor Deluxe on ebay with case cradle and extra 8 MB RAM $30.00 Cachemate $8.00 and love it. Tried the GSAK and it was great the first two times I used it then it will not run on my computer anymore. Put it on another and same thing. Don't know what is up with that but I really don't need it. I use easy gps to up load to the GPS V and cachemate converts the pocket query files and then hotsync them to the visor. Load up several databases for different areas and switch between them depending on where in the world I am. Much better than the tree killing method. Much easier when motorcycling with the PDA and GPS everything is right there. The only reason for the high dollar PDA would be for the maps but I think a nice laptop would fit the bill better for that.

  6. Sounds just like a few people that used to jam our local amateur radio repeaters. Guys in mid life crisis that are not happy in life and just want others to be just as miserable. That went on for several years with one of the offenders going to jail and paying big fines. It did get better after the FCC and local law enforcement got involved but what a way to spend your time and money. Ignore and they will most likely move on to other things when they can't get a rise out of anyone.
