  3. I Just want a chip that I can sew into my kids underware, so that I can find him when he gets lost at the mall.
  4. On the 5th Day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, 5 Happy Meal Toys.
  5. I just got off the phone the reservation people, as of 5:00pm there are 2 yurts remaining. If you are wanting to get a yurt for the weekend you need to move quikly. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  6. Team Misguided wouldn't mind a summer time road trip. Give us the dates and we'll be there. We might even try to get a yurt. The more yurts the better. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  7. falcspav, Send a preview of the cartoon to the Admin. dept. and Jeremy. Humbly ask permission to post it. The worst that can happen is they'll say NO. On the other hand, they could laugh thier *sses off, and give you permission. It doesn't hurt to ask. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  8. Maybe, Ski3pin is a tightwad. You know too cheap to spend $5 on an ammo can, so he/she steals other's to take advantage of the "premade cache" someone else has worked hard on. Just my irritated input. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  9. I would like to add my 2 cents worth for the Olympia area. Frye, Frye, Away! On a clear day the view of Mount Rainier from here is awesome. Priest Point Park This one is fairly close in to the city, it was fun with my kids and a nephew along. Just watch out for the mud at low tide, it is very slippery. The Big Tree This is one of mine, and is a little more challenging than the others that I listed. This is also the 1st cache that I placed, so I'm rather partial to it. Nisqually Reach was a challenge for me. If you chose to do this one, be sure to do the math correctly, unlike myself. Also, check a tide chart before you go, you won't get this one at high tide, unless you use a boat. If you'ld like to do a night cache, that I guaranty is the safest night time find you could possably grab, then you have to try Grave Robber. Well that's my input, happy hunting. 11. slinger, Just e-mail me the waypoint #, and name of the park. No need to post it here, unless you just want advertise it for others to check out. Thanks, Misguided One ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  12. I posted the following message on geocachingwa yahoo group yesterday, and realized that not everyone uses the yahoo group. quote: Greetings All, I've been appointed chairman of the Advocacy Committee for the WSGA. We are currently trying to assemble a list of caches that physically located WITHIN the boundries of state parks. If any of you have placed caches in a state park, please send me an e-mail with the waypoint # and the name of the park where it is located. Please do not send a link, just the waypoint and park name will do. Also, if you have a cache in a State, County or City park and you have requested and recieved permission for that cache, I would be interested in that information as well. Please e-mail me directly at: misguidedone@hotmail.com WSGA will be contacting the Washington State Parks commission/region managers in the future to introduce them to GEOCACHING, and work out guidelines for placing caches in the parks. If you have comments or questions about caching in the state parks please contact us, and we'll try to help you. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  13. Criminal, I really like your letter, if you get a positive response and you are aren't busy on Tues Oct. 8th, maybe you would like to attend the next WSGA meeting. Our advocacy committee would be interested in hearing about how your meeting goes. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  14. King 5 (Seattle) just ran a teaser for tomorrow nights show. They will be running the GEOcaching story that aired back in Dec.(the show that started me on this great activity). In case you dont know the show starts at 7:00 pm. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  15. Hey CFM, Try redoing those links, all I got was the Hide/Seek page of GC.com ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  16. To the cachers in WA, This situation can happen to us, but with a more severe outcome. How would you like to see caching banned in the WA State parks all together. If we don't treat the rangers with the respect they deserve. Guess what people, some of the park rangers know about geocaching.com and actually have user names, and they might even read these forums. Rather than criticizing/hastling them, remember they have a job to do. If you haven't obtained permission for your cache to be in a park, don't get P***ed Off when there is a problem. Try to be understanding of their position, and make the extra effort to solve the problem before things get out of control.
  17. Ranger Shannon, It is nice to see that the Oregone Parks Dept. is open minded about geocaching. I appreciate your willingness to allow the owners of the caches in question to come by your office and retrieve the containers. Unfortunately there will always be people that feel the posted hours and rules don't apply to them, for some odd reason. I sincerely hope that your park and the geocaching community can work out the problems and get caches placed in the park in the future. As a Washington state cacher, I am seeing problems that are starting with our state parks. Hopefuly, we will be able to find kind and helpful rangers like yourself, and we'll be able to solve any misunderstandings about our sport/hobby. Thank you for your willingness to work with cachers in your area. Misguided One WSGA
  18. quote:Ummm... I guess you haven't realized that WA doesn't have an income tax. I guess WA-ers haven't been purchasing enough for the sales tax to pay for state parks. Its kinda hard to go out buy things, when our State Gov. forces the citizens to pay for a baseball stadium after the people voted against it. The will of the people be damned, we're your government, we know what's best for you. ___________________________________________ It's not what you fling, It's the FLING itself.
  19. quote:Originally posted by Seay me:I was in the sports secton at Target and saw some of the decoy ducks. I thought that would be interesting to use....the ones I saw were hollow. Chip On this same note, my wife and I were in the local Wal-Mart a couple months ago, and we saw this plastic deer. What was cool about it was that it made for archery practice, so it had this removable vital organs section that was the perfect size for a 50 cal. ammo can. Alas, we couldn't justify the $80.- price tag. __________________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. At least I don't think I'm lost, well............OK, maybe just a little.
  20. Every cache that Team Misguided has placed, generally runs $20.- to $35.-. We believe in putting out quality caches in the hope that others will reciprocate by leaving quality items for trades. It doesn't always work out, but what the heck, it's only my kids inheritance that I'm spending. __________________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost. 21. Having given this a little more thought since Wander Lost posed the idea of having a meeting at our place. I would have to agree with Linda Lu, that meeting in Renton/Tukwilla area would probably be more convenient for everyone. If anybody knows of a place with a group room in that area, please let us know.
  22. quote:Mr. Gigabyte:I had hoped my earlier apology would have sufficed. However, the stream of derogatory email persists. Mr. Gigabyte, You are correct, your earlier apology should have been the end of the discussion. If people are sending you harrassing e-mail, then they are the ones with personal issues they need to deal with. Attacking you only reduces their position in the moral hierarchy of life. You took responsibility, you apologized. All that need be said is, 'Shame on you, apology accepted, don't let it happen again, now lets get back to the game. Misguided One.
  23. While at the Summer Roundup we had an opportunity to speak with ranger John Heilbaum. His comments about GEOCaching were positive, and while he could only speak for the Flaming Geyser state park and the Green River Gorge area, he did say that the parks service is not opposed to caching, provided permission is obtained prior to hiding a cache. If they find a cache that they are unaware of, then they treat it as if it were trash and dispose of it. The bottom line is, ask permission or risk having the cache removed.
  24. quote: Like a baby monitor and tracking device in one? sounds kinda scary.... i don't think i would ever want someone watching where i am WITH the ability to page me over a radio and say "Hey, aren't you supposed to be making me a chicken pot pie???". But, hey, that's just me. Just so you know, you can't track other *RINO* units. The only way someone would be able to know your position, is if you sent them the coords from your radio.
  25. If I can't find a cache, I will usually post a note that says that I had trouble and couldn't find it. Hopefully the cache hider will be kind and e-mail me a better hint. If after a second or third attempt, I still can't find it then I log a not found. I just don't like having the little frowny face in my list, too many of them and I start to get discouraged. __________________________________________________ Lost? I'm not lost.
