  1. Bandaids, needle nose pliers (for the cactus).
  2. Did someone say "universal lock opener?" This one works on your typical key or combination locks with equal ease.
  3. And just to be sure, it may not be a bad idea to have the permission slip notarized and copies sent to the local Bomb Squad and Department of Homeland Security.
  4. As Brian stated, this topic always brings up a good discussion. Seems there are many viewpoints. Although there are more views than "Gun enthusiasts" and "Anti-Gun" folks. I have guns and I don't feel the need to carry while cacheing, or any non-hunting excursion. Some of the cachers I go caching with do carry. It don't bother me at all.
  5. Favorite "log"???? must... not... succomb... to... friday... afternoon... silliness....
  6. Yes they would be. That's for sure. OK, reading the OP, I like them better as attributes, not as an implication of quality.
  7. I'm not so sure about that. They're just metal. They have no seal. Sure they lock up tightly, but without a rubber seal that metal-against-metal seal sn't going to help much. I don't know how waterproof they are, but ammo cans certainly do have a rubber seal in the lid. At least all the ammo cans that I own do. Well, I went to check my ammo can again, the one I have ready to go for a future series. And no rubber seal in the lid. Then I went and grabbed the two other ammo cans I have to check them ... and voila! rubber seals. So I just transferred all the goodies to one of the good ammo cans. Now looking at the bad can, the lid is the same as the others minus the seal. I wonder if the seal rotted out or was pulled out by some previous owner? Weird, well, this non-sealed can is destined for the trash then. I have come across at least one can, laying on its side under a log in a big puddle of water that was soaked inside. Of course, it was rusting away too, so probably rusted out around the seal. American ammo cans have a seal and are pretty much water resistant. They have been known to be submersed under a couple feet of water for extended periods of time with no significant water intrusion. Also, the ammo cans we purchase tend to not be "new", so perhaps the source of these non-sealing cans needs to be looked into a bit more. Also there was a reference earlier about ammo can prices... Dryboxes - $15 - $25 and are good stuff. Ammo cans - As low as $2.50 each (pallett of 144), as high as $15 if you don't shop around. Typically, I see them for $8-$10 at the local gun shop or military surplus store.
  8. I think your hubby is pretty darned close. And you haven't logged the caches at the Zzyzx Road Exit yet?
  9. --- inappropriate comment deleted --- hee hee hee
  10. Why do I get this feeling that if I answer this openly and honestly that somebody out there will disagree and thus find fault with it? Not a problem in itself, but then they have to plaster it all over the forums and draft the wordy explanations and bad premises. (or is that premisi?) This ground is a little shakey.
  11. I delete them too. And that's a good thing?
  12. Dog sledding and car racing are methods of transportation... get it... transportation Sometimes I kill me.
  13. Take scissor. This help to defend your self agains would be female attackers. Scissors are very effective against thier credit cards and thus inhibits thier ability to shop. Also, do not attract them with things like cute dogs or kids. This can lead to horrible atttacks and long conversations.
  14. I like hobby and sport. "Games" implies competition.
  15. If you go to your Pocket Queries page, click the button at the bottom, then you will have one shortly.
  16. If I wanted to establish bragging rights and be able to say that my average terrain rating was a "3" or higher, then I would have to refrain from caching those T1's after work and sit home watching TV instead.
  17. Every 78 that I have heard was scratchy as heck. I think they were pretty much made that way. 45's were better, but only had one or two songs. LP's (33 1/3) were pretty good until cassette tapes and CD's came out.
  18. Camper17 - Know anyone I can go caching with?? And, aren't you supposed to be working? All - Camper17 is one of my best caching buddies, right behind my husband, dad, and daughter. I do prefer to cache with others. It's just that my need for caching sometimes exceeds other's needs for caching. I admit it, I am addicted. And, I am recruitung - took 5 newbies out into the woods today at lunch looking again for That's Not Fair, with no luck. We will be trying again soon. FlygURL I'll cache with you.
  19. Parking garages can be fun. Anybody bring a skateboard?
  20. I never thought there would be a cache under there. I suggest you use gloves when you retrieve the cache. I may have been there before you.
  21. Is somebody keeping track so we can determine who is having the most fun?
  22. No, it means... - I have nothing spectacular to say about your cache - Forgive me please, I am not a skilled wordsmith. - I have 128 caches to log for today and I can't remember anything spectacular about this one. And to some of us, it really does mean "thanks for the cache"
  23. Heck, if it feels good, do it. Don't let the folks convince you that the sky is falling.
  24. micros are stoopid. we HATE them. Because they are STOOPID! That's why we HATE them. Sounds like a phobia.
