A little off topic, but along the same lines. This past summer, I came home and checked my phone messages, and there was a message from Discover credit card. It said there was some strange activity and transactions on my card and they wanted me to contact the fraud department at Discover at such and such number. Well, not knowing if the phone number was legit or not, instead of calling the number it stated, I called 1-800-Discover.....lo and behold, they HAD called me. We had bought something on eBay, and it was charged to a pawn shop. I told them it was fine to go ahead with the transaction....it was kind of nice that a red flag went up and they contacted me. However, I told them that I called their most published phone number, because I couldn't risk the idea that the other number was not legit. They said that I had done the right thing by calling back to a published number instead of one that was given to me. They are not always whom they seem. I give Discover big kudos.

I never had the need for a cell phone....I would bargain to say, the majority of people DON'T NEED them, they are just handy to have.....I find them extremely annoying in public. More than anything, I have a hard time tolerating parents who rather talk on their cell phones than converse with the children in the car!!!!! Wow, what priorities.....oh yeah, I forgot, the kids are watching a DVD in the back seat.

That may be so, but in the winter, I am not wearing shorts and a tank top!!!

Yep, yardwork and cleaning the car are now on the back burner. Of course, you'll really know you're hooked when you start saying "Hon, I'll run that errand for you", knowing full well that there is a cache nearby!

Here's another scenario.... My two sons geocache with me. One of us will "retrieve" it from the cache, and the other two of us will "grab" it, thus all 3 of us will get credit for it. Works for us, anyhow

I am looking forward to winter caching....I can get to caches I was afraid to get to during the summer due to poison ivy and thick brush!!! Hide it, and they will come............ Ammo Box for the container. In your area, is it snowcovered all winter???

I just love to read the logs that say, "found this when doing 25 caches today in the area" And the cache has been gone for weeks!!!!! To be replaced by owner a few days later!!! I lost a ton of respect for that person.

It's just sad, it's turning into something so drastically different than interesting virtuals, earthcaches, locationless etc...... Think I'll be bowing out quite soon. Just not what I was expecting.

You could always email in advance to regulars in your area that a new one will be going up.....they can either hunt it up before it's official, or at least get a jump on the posting.

Congratulations....most of yours were in the "2" range.....1/1's usually are people's firsts....you are well on your way.

I like the idea, 100 years is not long enough, I could go to my church cemetary and waste 10-20 rolls of film. Also, in the same vain, maybe unusual monuments/mausoleums, etc.
