  1. A very nice gesture! I believe I meet the criteria, but not sure how to convince you that I am a great person other than to be my warm, funny, self!
  2. Here's Ginger... she loves the outdoors and we take her caching whenever we can. She was a rescue and everyone thought she was some sort of mix, but after a little research, I believe she is a "Ridgeless" Rhodesian Ridgeback that was dumped off because she didnt have the pronounced ridge. Breeder's loss, but our gain!
  3. Agreed. If these challenges count, then benchmarks should count as well. Thank you Tadpole! .

  5. Congrats! I hope to hit that mark this week.
  6. You call that a penis tree? Here's a penis tree... Interesting story (to some): I grabbed this pic because I thought it was funny and submitted it to Weird NJ Magazine. It had the appendage and was "eating" a rock behind it. It was published and a few months later I was contacted by someone in the Lenepe Indian Tribe, and it was confirmed that this tree was a lost Marker Tree and is several hundred years old. Back in the day, the Lenepe Indians tied down trees on thier path to point to thinks like lakes and crops, etc. The tree would grow in a bend like that and after a year or so, the tree was untied.
  7. I leaned in to get a cache by a wooded area, and got a nice slash on my head... the perils of not having any hair for protection. I always wear a cap now!
  8. Got an email 5 days ago stating I received a retro FL souvenir, but I still dont have it. I dont mind waiting, but this seems a little long... why not send the email after it was actually posted to my account?
  9. Cool... I was in Palm Coast over Thanksgiving and did a few caches, but I was not aware of this. On my next trip down, I will have to check these out.
  10. Note that in your Found log -- that you "didn't see a TB in here". But if it's a container full of stuff, there's a chance that it might still be there. Some Travel Bugs are basically just a little metal tag. If you did a pretty thorough inspection, and there's definitely no TB there, it's nice to contact the TB owner, and let them know. Bear in mind that someone may have grabbed the TB and just hasn't gotten around to logging it yet -- or they didn't do the proper log, and it may turn up in another cache later. Thanks for the reply! I actually did note that in my found log, but I wasn't sure if there was anything else I need to do. I guess I can also contact the TB owner as others have also suggested. We did find a TB the other day, which is cool!
  11. Any movement is better than none, even it's just .10 mile. Take pictures, tell stories, have fun. I went to a cache that was supposed to have a TB, but it is not there. What's the procedure here? No one has logged that they grabbed it.
  12. We (wife, son, me) just started 3 weekends ago. I had a book on GC for about 6 months, and never opened it. Finally did and was hooked. We have about 13 finds, and we generally do a few every weekend. We're not going to pump up the numbers this way, but it is all about the hunt and it's a great way for the family to get outside and to have some fun.
