I like the paint job but would like to know why the choice of EzOff oven cleaner over something like alcohol? Just paint it with a primer for plastic. You can buy a can of it and get a lot of caches prepped with just 1 can. Then put the finish coat on, followed by the clear coat. Faster and less toxic.

yep, they're great. Though I have had a couple of cachers say they do look suspicious when cammo'd. I use a paint primer (spray can) with the lid screwed on and then use the colors I want to cammo it with. If you don't prime it first, the finish colors will peel right off the plastic.

I mailed a coin to begin a Mission across Canada. It was dropped in it's first cache over 3 months ago and has not moved once. I don't know much about the cache; it might be difficult to find based on some entries. Anyone have an idea to get it moving? Thanks for your help.

Yep, that's where I bought my cable. The little metal piece is called a ferrule. Of course, tagging geocoins with cable won't deter stealing as all of the traveling geocoins I've sent out have been tagged. At last count, I'm up to 138 geocoins missing but I'm sure the real count is well over 150. Wow, Mauison. That's a lot of coins. Thanks for continuing to put them out there!

plain old airline cable bought at places like OSH. Comes in different sizes. Buy however much you want and cut it as you go. I forget the name of the little metal piece to fit at the end of the cable, but the guy at the store should know.

I have a coin that's been held for over a month now. I've emailed with no response also. You can look at the cacher's profile to find out a little about them. Unfortunately, sometimes new cacher's find a coin and the stop caching and the coin gets stuck with them. Or sometimes circumstances of life get in the way for awhile. There's stories here where coins have disappeared and/or have been held and resurface again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us!

What do you have to trade?

Long and short; if they're activated they belong to someone and most likely have a mission. These you do not keep. If there's no tracking number they're swag or if there's a tracking number but not activated they're yours to keep. You don't need to replace an activated coin in a cache to move it along to another cache. But if it's a keeper, you should leave something of at least equal value. HAVE FUN
