  1. I am trying to add a link on my cache page to a web page and rather than put the whole link in I would rather put a 'name'. How do I do it?
  2. Ah yes but if you drill a hole in them and attach a label people tend not to want them! Mine are travelling fine. But I must admit I am very choosy. I cannot understand this penchant for having having every coin that's available, just for the icon, and then, even worse, never releasing them. Just my opinion. But I do find it odd. Saying that I have 2 I have yet to release. i am taking my time! If you look at the geocoin (main) thread it does appear that a new coin is being released every 5 mins. ANyway back to the original OP. From what I have picked up there are trackable and non trackable coins and they do exactly what it says on the tin. the trackable ones work like a TB and have a unique number on them to track them. The non trackable ones just vanish into the ether! And may or may not travel.
  3. HUBBY IS 32 ....VERY VERY NEARLY 33 AND I'M 30 AND SENT A TB OUT THE DAY IT HAPPENED oops. 'scuse the capitals - i wasn't shouting - honest
  4. Not got my invoice yet ..... ...panicking? moi? no, just checking my pc every few seconds, seeing as not out today!
  5. I am after 2 of the GeoCat coins either to purchase or trade. I have a LE Gold EGG coin that I would be willing to trade with. Not sure how it all works but maybe somebody could point me in the right direction of getting a couple of these because I missed out first time. Thanks

  7. count me in for 2 silver, 1 LE gold. Will need shipping to the Uk if thats ok - hope it doesn't sting too much!
  8. Are we too late? We would like to purchase two of either - one for me and one for Little Miss Naughty - it is just too much fun to miss. Hopefully shipping to the UK isn't a problem!
  9. i can't work out how much they will cost to be shipped to the UK
  10. We would like 2! How much would it be for them to the UK?
  11. We'd be up for it, subject to dates and location, as we and Miss Naughty live as far into the SE as you can go!
  12. However, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to drill a hole in them before letting them go. It's not so bad - we don't go to the extremes of Crptic S C , we just do a small hole on the outer edge just big enought to put a key ring through it and then attach the laminated card - this way, as Naughty says, they are not collectable and also obvious in a pretty full cache, rather than possibly sinking to the bottom. Saying that, we released our UK Coin in Greenwich last weekend and it hasn't been picked up yet - we thought it would go really quite quickly - being a busy area 'n' all. Have noticed locally as well that coins are not being picked up quickly - dare I say that maybe there is becaoming a 'glut' of them and they don't hold the value they once used to???? PLease don't flame me, please, ouch
  13. Should I have paid for them yet? I don't remember doing so
  14. I'm really surprised there are still some left!!
  15. I have a problem.... I've ordered as a EU customer instead of a UK customer , so I've paid way to much postage! Oh I've forgotten to mention that my paypal account is in my maiden name instead of my married name. Now, who should I email about my massive stupidity???? That's what happens when you rush your order in the last 2 mins of lunchbreak for you and a mate before they websense the site again for the rest of the day!!!! As if I would spend all my working time surfing the net
  16. ok, well I have obviously just proven myself to be more dense than I thought!
  17. It looks like I am going to have to go to Cyprus (for a couple of weeks, probably in April, but maybe not until October.) As caching has taken over my life I thought I might try and squeeze a few caches in while I am there, but it suddenly dawned on me; what do I do about a GPS? I am sure our Map60 and Geko 201 are only UK map based so how do I go about it?
  18. I'm probably being a little slow here ... but I've just noticed that when you look at the list of people logged onto the forum, those in italics are people who are in the process of writing a reply / starting a new topic. If you hover over their name it tells you when they started to write it as well - I guess that will warn us when someone starts writing a thesis
  19. You will find (well, now the search button is working again!) that this topic has been discussed at length here and I think Wilburri's post pretty much sums the situation up - especiallywith him being a church warden - his points are very valid Quote: "And there I was about to place a cache in two of our local churchyards! From this you will gather that I have no qualms about mooching about in cemetaries; but then I grew up living next to one (occupational hazard for the son of a clergyman) and am a regular visitor to cemetaries as a regular churchgoer. I am well aware of the problems of misbehaviour in churchyards as I am also a churchwarden (responsible, amongst other things, for stopping the buildings and their environs from falling apart). There have been problems with people doing things with needles in one of the churchyards but we've sorted that and would be happy to have more people enjoying the area. It should be remembered that one of the points of a headstone is to act as an aid to remember the person whom it commemorates, therefore their use as clues is good because it can make us think about the person that was buried there. I stand and look around the cemetary and it's a who's who of the families of the local worthies and it brings to life (as it were) the history of the area. So do I go ahead and place the caches? They'd neither of them be under a headstone. My preferred spot in one place is a bush that covers a very old grave. Technically speaking the bush should not be there (the rules are quite clear about what's allowed in a churchyard), so I could try and chase up the relatives (after some 70 years) and say get it out - or I can make use of it as it is quite a feature and rather more tasteful than some of the other illegal additions. I'd rather see more folk around. It's true that some folk won't behave in the churchyards but my advice is to keep the caching away from the areas that are in current use (churchyards get filled up in areas) and then those folk who might be there for more serious purposes will not have to put up with the others. I was doing an almost local cache in a churchyard and kept it very quiet as there was a lady who was paying her respects to a relative. So my plan was to use those graves where the dates were no less than 60 years old which would keep everything out of the way of anyone paying their respects and to hide the caches in bushes/trees thereby ensuring that there's no tomb-robbing.
