  1. The phrase " You shoulda been here yesterday comes to mind. I certainly wouldnt base my GPSr decision on fishing info..as said above to many other variables "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  2. Just checked usgs...appears they dont anymore...but I know it was more recent then 98...yhe entire state of Az is available at ARAI I think they have most of the western states as well. 3. Doesnt matter in Az... we dont bother with DST. The last thing we need in the summer is another hour of sunlight!! "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  4. DRGs are also available from the USGS page as well (www.usgs.gov) it takes some looking around to find the right link to them. They also have a viewer available for download. Been awhile sense Ive been there though. In Az they are available from the ASU web site. With my broadband connection it has never taken me longer a min. or two to D/L any of them. 5. Finally, just what is a submerged icon?? Would that be Bill Gates skindiving???? "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  6. If you are refering to a Travel Bug from the main page go to "Track Travel Bugs". From there you can enter the bugs serial number "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  7. Make sure you are logged on to Geocaching.com and you must run the application (easygps) once before you can D/L to it "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  8. I use N.G. TOPO! as well and really like it...I wish it could be downloaded to my G3+ but oh well. I do have it loaded on my laptop and it works great for live tracking while offroading...but not a real good way for hiking. Having seen Mapsorce and Del topo (I put my copy of Del in a cache) Id recommend N.G. Pricy but well worth it with its detail and versatility (manage waypoints, elevation profiles, track routes, 5 levels of zoom down to 1:24000) "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." 9. I have a G3+ connected to a laptop loaded with N.G. TOPO! in the Jeep. It works great for live tracking while Caching or offroading. Much easier to see the screen and having multiple levels of map detail really lets you see where you are in relation to waypoints or landmarks. 10. Try this Waypoints "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com

  12. We always take Cody the Aussie dog on hunts. He loves to ride and has a ball when we take off on foot for the final search. I think he even has some idea of what we are doing. Hes not too keen on some of these Arizona plants tho...Cody the Aussie Dog with Charlotte the CACHE Bear TB. 18. There are still people with modems???? Do they have rotary phones too? "You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there." Yogi Berra JeepNAz@aol.com
  19. Glad that helped some.... Also keep in mind that what might be a 2 for a 24 year old in excellent hiking shape might be a 4 for a 55 year old couch potato who has decided to get back in shape. ( disclaimer...Im neither of those ). Ive found that many times the info in the description helps determine difficulty and what is writen in the logs also is an indicator. Because I am rather prone to 4X4 accessable type caches I tend to expect a rather difficult terrain rating....
