Snap. I got the same one for Christmas , and like you I wondered how to delete found caches on the unit! That was until the kind folk on here directed me to my laptop. We were going around in circles with the GPS trying to delete them with no luck. I hold my hand up and admit I never thought of the computer. But I know now Thanks again all for yor help.

Many thanks to all. We deleted them this evening through the laptop. why we never thought of that I will never know thank you again ps in my defence...........this is the first GPS I have owned that I can upload caches direct from the computer. The old one was all done manually :-)

As far as I know you can't delete caches from the unit - either individual caches or all caches in a gpx. You'd have to do that from the computer. Using the computer you can (I think) delete individual or multiple caches with Basecamp. You can delete gpx files using whichever file manager you choose. I ran into a problem when I deleted a gpx file from the unit using Windows Explorer, copied one across with the same name and found that the unit wouldn't list any caches at all, which was frustrating as I was away for a couple of days. Since then I delete the gpx file, disconnect the unit and switch it on, wait for it to start up and recognise that the gpx has gone, connect to computer and copy the new file across. I've only used it with Windows XP so can't say for other systems. Whilst I'm out caching I always log attempts and mark found caches so that they no longer appear in the search. Duncan many many thanks for your reply. I am no techie so I will need to re read your reply. hmmmmmmmm never thought of the computer, only had this gps a few weeks and have only loaded them to the unit from the computer!!!! okay off to try. thanks again :-) Many many thanks Duncan Why we didn't think of using the computer I don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!! duh here cleared them now via the laptop. thanks so much :-)

t Thank you. Yes I saw that one but as I/we do not know the city all that well, I wasnt sure how far it would be from where we are staying which is George Street. That one certainly would be something different to do. Safe City - TB exchange http://coord.info/GC28ZJ0 is your best bet. It's not that far away from George St - maybe 30 minute walk - but it will take you by a number of geocaches and tourist spots. Failing that, I work nearby (Ultimo) and can meet with you in Chinatown or Darling Harbour. My email is geocaching@darrenosborne.com Very fun as well- many favourites, recommended Many thanks, I have emailed you just now. thank you :-)

We will be visiting australia in the near future and I want to put out a TB whilst there. We will be in Sydney for about 4 nights then on to Melbourne later in the trip. I am the geocacher in the house not hubby but he comes along geocaching with me to keep the peace, so I do not want to trail him about kicking and screaming geocaching doing too many ;-) I am looking for either a cache big enough to take a TB or maybe a TB hotel, an easy one to find. I have found micro's for Sydney and will if possible put the Tb into a Melbourne city one if there isn't a suitable sydney one, but cannot see larger ones without going too far from the tourist area (sydney). any help much apprieciated and many thanks.

Okay............ I am just about finish activating a new Travel Slug I bought today, my question is. Do I, at the part where it asks "Is Collectable" then there are 2 boxes for "yes or no" to click, do I click yes? We have a static TB on the car so that isn't collectable but when I came to fill in the simple form on line for the slug my mind went blank!! Maybe I need a coffee as I think I have answered my own question ! somehow I was thinking if I click yes then folk would keep the slug and not move it on. okay coffee break me thinks thanks for any replies.

I have had my trusty secondhand etrex for just over a year now, it has been fantastic for me starting out on geocaching. It is now starting to sometimes loose it's little spring where the batteries go, so far i have managed to spot it once it lands as it pings out of the back! So i am thinking of a new one, but I have no idea what to buy. Maybe one that shows a map, but as i am in no way a "techi" nothing too complicated but maybe something up from the one I have. I would welcome any ideas/help many thanks

Well, the last time I went I had batteries, a pen, pencil, notebook, camera, a lump of cement, one film cannister, 3 Tupperware boxes and a large plastic pigeon. It's so easy to pick up a lump of cement instead of your GPS.

I only have to put UK when I put in other towns but not my home town I have noticed. It just would not move when I clicked "go" but I am now going to try it again to see if it will work a second time.
-
Thank you for answering. I put in the town and the mileage just now and it came up that time, that was my 4th time of trying. Many thanks hopefully it was a slight hiccup

I have tried a couple of times after signing in to geocaching.com i put in the town to search for caches but the site will not move on when I click "go". I am not doing anything different to before so where am I going wrong please, or is anyone else having this problem? thanks
