Doug,
Thanks for your response, sent you a reply via email but thought to post it here as well for others interested. When I first thought of wanting an avatar I originally thought of like an earth globe in the GX symbol or the GX symbol faded a bit on the globe and with a ferrents upper boddy behind and above the globe... Similar to the Mozilla Firefox symbol but not exactly like that... hope that spawns some ideas!
Roger
Sorry to jump in late, but I don't seem to get these posts until after 2 or 3 have been posted. Here's one:

"Signal Baby" (parody of "Santa Baby", video & mp3 below)
Love it!! Great voice!

The quality of the Avatars is just amazing. I have had help with three that have been loved by my two kids and myself.
I am hoping someone can help with a avatar creation, and one I can enlarge and put on a shirt. I would like to combine two elements one a basic bike design (example shown) with the back wheel being the seal (actual seal shown). I am not looking for a lot of detail in the bike.
I know that this request is a little bit specific but I could really use the help. Thank you in advance.
Here are a couple. The diagonal lets the logo be a tiny bit bigger on the forum av. Still pretty hard to read at that size, unfortunately. Found a different copy of the logo for the larger ones. Hope that's okay.

if this offer is still open I could use a little(LOT) of help since I have absolutely no artistic abilities. I have an idea....a slightly overweight dog kicked back in a big easy chair with a botle of Corona. ... what do you think?
Here's one..

Took the Father-in-law along to finish some touch ups. The lead is a regular sized container.
The cache goes by the name of "No Need To BYOP"...
I don't know how to add a link to this post, so...
I love it!!! Well done.

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout.
Thanks so much mizdeeds.
You're welcome!!
I didn't think it was possible to make a hot pink fox MORE feminine, but you did it!
Thanks! I just had a little fun with it!

So if anyone wanted to help me out here, I was thinking a penguin (preferably a rockhopper) with a GPS or cache box in its 'hands'
I volunteer my Mondays to feeding the penguins at the New England Aquarium (right near a Rowes Wharf cache!)
Please and thank you!
What cute penguins! Here's one idea:

Hey thanks... could you possibly make it a little more feminine?
If that's even possible?
Okey dokey... howzis?

Do you have to be a premium member to get an avatar?
If not, then I'm trying to figure out an avatar image to use, then possibly use later as a coin or something... (but that certainly won't be for a while yet.)
I'm open to ideas.
Edited to add: no, you don't need to be a premium member.
Here's an idea.

I can't see the larger image in the first response. It's showing broken.
The smaller image looks cute, but I'd like to see it bigger.
The second response is very cute as well, can I get a bigger image?
Sorry for the delay! Here you go!

Thanks for all the work! These are great, I decided to try my hand at it today as well, watcha think?
and small:
I had a lot of fun doing this! Great idea!
Love 'em! Good job!

Wow, that one is really great!!
Thank you!

Me Please! We geocache as a team, two males two females, but the name really comes from our pawed caching-companion Remi, who is a bassett hound. Remi is the dog in the current pic, and she has been joined by another basset, so we're now a two bassett team! I thought a bassett with the gc colors instead of black and brown patches might be pretty cool... we use an oregon 400t and an iphone (it is a team) The GPS doesn't need to be in the image. Another idea would be a bassett nose to the ground sniffing out a cache...
THANKS!
A basset in geo-colors....

I was thinking more along the lines of something standing up, in a seductive pose...holding the ammo can. I actually like the idea of an ammo can in one hand, and a martini glass in the other.
If the image needs to be larger, I can always use it as my profile image.
Sorry, I'm a little behind on this... here's another idea.

Yes, something like that. I had initially thought of the x in the centre being the compass points, but that does look nice as well.
Okay...how 'bout this?
-
Saw this one while vacationing in Vermont.
Uhhhh... your OTHER left?

These look like the caches in question: GC2190J and GC21903. Looks like a project for a Cub Scout troop? One of the listings does mention "on the map it looks like it is in a back yard but it is not"; but it's actually the other cache that looks that way on the maps. Hmm. Maybe the troop leader hasn't checked their emails yet?

Welcome to the obsession.

Yeah, you found one of the things on the page that was put there to make you think you'd found the solution, until you realized you'd only found the posted coordinates.
I like this one because the solution doesn't require a puzzle be solved. The coordinates are intact, they're just hidden. Someone across the country saw it, liked it, and decided to hide their own version using the same concept.
There's even a sequel to the cache.
Okay, so I solved the sequel... I think! Sending PM to check. Now why can't I get the other one? I have shopping to do... can't be sitting here staring at puzzles!!!

To mizdeeds... glad to hear you found that one relatively easy... karma I guess (sigh)... that's what I thought about your nemesis in Michigan. Good luck!
Doug
Thank you, but I have discovered I did NOT solve that one either! Talk about red herrings! Sheesh! Now I have ANOTHER puzzle to drive me crazy until I solve it.... sigh... Gotta love 'em!

I took a look at the cache page and didn't see what I expected. I didn't have enough time to look at it before leaving for work but I definitely want to come back and look some more. It reminds me of my Hidden Coordinates caches. Maybe when (if) I solve it I'll be able to use some of the idea for one in the series.
In my caches, the coordinates are in plain sight but they're hard to find with all the rest of the stuff on the page.
It must be harder than I thought because after a few people found it right after it was published early this year the finds have stopped.
Now THAT one I found the solution right away! I wish I could say the same for the one I originally posted here about. I'm still beating my head against the wall there.
Now that it's been found, I can email the cache owner for a hint, but not sure I'm ready for that yet. I set it aside and look at it again every other day or so. I'm usually pretty good with puzzles, so I'm just stubborn enough to want to figure it out without a big hint.
Lots of great tips posted here... I feel I'm getting close but it's still evading me. GRRR I will do it. Yes. I will.
-
Posting hints about specific puzzle caches in a public forum is generally considered inappropriate. Furthermore, this cache hasn't even been found yet.
(snip)
I know, and that's why I didn't have it in my original post.
Now that it's been solved by someone far away, I know it can be done! Thank you everyone for all the tips. Will let you know if/when I figure it out!

Okay, it's GC20VMG, On the Borderline. Could be "on the borderline" is the clue. A geographical border of some sort.
I agree on the enigma puzzles, I can usually solve puzzles too, but this one ... grrrrr...
No, none of the other text has any color specified. But I like your thinking on the "84"..
-
There are no previous solvers. Nobody has found/solved it yet. The geochecker has 2 incorrect guesses and zero correct. No related web page either. The title could be a clue, but I think I'd have to live locally for it to make any sense to me, so I may have to give up. Durnit.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Hello and thank you! I am not in the forums very often any more and rely on the email notifications to keep up on the threads I follow. It seems now that I don't get these until there have been a few posts, so I miss a lot, or am very far behind by the time I see it!
Yes, I noticed that the actual avatars were smaller than the sample I posted. Wonder why they keep making them smaller? Pretty soon it will be useless to have one because nobody will be able to see it!
I do enjoy messing with the avatars, as you do. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
