  1. Isn't CO a Mountain State? Yes but not the only one! And Congrats TH! Now just a little farther north.. South and a bit West would work if you ask me... It's gotta happen eventually...I mean, my fingers are cramping having them crossed for so long now!
  2. What? She made it to CA? Bah! Too far!! Come back east a bit...the UK?!?! Sheesh, ok, head West again....If you see a big crater or really long and deep ditch, you are over northern AZ. Now head south and drop us some coins! PLEASE!!!
  3. Congrats to all finders..but still waiting for TGF to head out west. Texas isn't bad, but I'm not there! Head on over to AZ TGF, we'd be happy to host you for a bit! Nice and warm here! Maybe that's it though..it's HOT, make the air thin..harder to fly? Patiently (but just barely) waiting!
  4. Ummm... Don't count on it!! Calvin & Hobbes & Illegal Licensing ... D-man I found this line intersting in the link: If I could not control what 'Calvin and Hobbes' stood for, the strip was worthless to me. This is a quote from Bill Watterson. Seems that all this "fan art" of Calvin and Hobbes is not considered flattering. By creating products that based on his characters, essentially the public made him want to quit drawing the strip. Now that's sad. I don't know if this is why he did eventually quit as he did renegotiate his contract and continue writing it.

  9. There are several options and they all depend on price you want to pay. Over at GeoCoins.net, we make laser engraved coins. Stock image coins start at $0.65 each. Custom designs start at the same price but with a one time set up fee as well. If you are looking for more of the ink stamped coins, they are much less expensive and can be bough several places. Wooden-nickel.com, Wooden-tokens.com, bar-chips.com, etc. I have no idea what their prices are. Best of luck where ever you decide to purchase and happy caching!
  10. Because we can easily and quickly make custom coins from wood and on the aluminum discs we have, we have made many different custom coins. However, we absolutely refuse to make a coin where the design is copyrighted. And yes, this is only if we know it. We had one person wanting a coin with the logo for DC shoes. I have a 13 year old daughter and thus recognized the logo immediately. Neither of the other guys did. I asked if he had permission to use the logo and we never heard from him again. Then on the other hand, I made a coin for person in the Army that wanted the Army Corps of Engineers emblem. I asked if they had permission to use the emblem, they asked up the chain of command until they got to someone who said it was OK. Same with our Boy Scouts designs. We got the green light from national to make and sell the design to anyone. Their thought is we were selling the coin, not claiming the design, so it was OK in this case. But plain and simple, if someone comes to us with a design that we recognize as copyrighted, we will ask if they have permission to use it. Does this mean we catch them all? Certainly not, but we at least try. My suggestion is the same as Ertha, be original and don't copy anyone. If if you do want to copy a companies logo, contact them and ask them for permission. It's pretty simple to do and you may be surprised.
  11. Sweet! I can easily send coin(s) to my mission! Woo hoo! Their seeking list is in my favor today!
  12. 1. Participating - email sent 7/12/07 2. Received Name-7/14/07 Research Started! 3. Mission Complete 4. Package Received! Yep, got my name. Could be tough. And as one stated before, I'm happy with anything that isn't a duplicate, and since I've only got just barely 100 coins, it shouldn't be too tough. Thanks Tank Hounds for doing this mission!
  13. Very good point. I figure I'll take what I get and it will be pretty hard to disappoint someone anyway. And like ByrnedFish says, if you really are unhappy with what you got, join another mission and send it out. Though there are people like me who have only a few coins on my seeking list. Why? Well, those are the only coins I'd actively seek out. But as long as the coin I receive is not a duplicate of what I have, I'll be happy. It most certainly does NOT need to be a coin on my seeking list. In fact I would be EXTREMELY surprised if it were. So the way I plan on working it when I get my name is I will check their seeking list and see if I have anything. If not, I'll check their keeping list and see if I have anything they don't have and send that. If I don't have anything but duplicates of what they have, I'll probably send one at random and a note saying sorry, I don't have anything you're seeking and only have duplicates. Not a whole lot you can do if you get someone like AtlantaGal who has what seems like every coin out there. I know AG, you don't, but taking a quick look at a list of several hundred coins makes it seem impossible to get someone like you a coin you actually want. And yes, there are others out there that have larger lists, you were just the first person to come to mind.
  14. Heh, I was kind of thinking the same thing. If you include your own sig item, it pretty well gives away who your "secret" sender is doesn't it? Still not sure if I'll be sending my own sig item, a sig item of someone else's that I've received, or maybe both!
  15. 1. Participating - Check, email sent on 7/8/2007. Awaiting mission. 2. Received Name 3. Mission Complete 4. Package Received! First mission for me as well. Should be fun.
  16. I know I"m late, but I was unable to get my pictures transfered to my laptop to upload or even log while I was out on the 4th. So here's a pic of my caching canine and I at GCXMZR It was a DNF, but I didn't have any info other than the coordinates and was expecting a much larger container than a Micro out in the wilds.
  17. WOOHOO So they are - AWESOME!!!!!! And as individual coins too - not all lumped in together. Thank you very much to the guys at GeoCoin Collection!!!!! You are welcome. We decided after much talk and listening to level headed users to add them to the database. We hope everyone is satisfied with this end result. If your coin is not listed, or listed incorrectly or we don't have a picture of it, please feel free to drop us a line to get it corrected. Posting here won't necessarily work, email is better. Also, it looks like there are two finishes available. At this point they are only in as a coin, no mention of finish. Is this OK and the users can place the finish in the comments or would having the finish listed as separate coin be better? If you want them split by finishes, then we need to be let know what finish your coin(s) is(are). Thank you. Brian Allen GeoCoins.net
  18. Looking for an LE? I've got one of each LE left for trades. I'd love to have a 2 tone Compass Rose, a Moun10bike or ?? There were only 25 of the LEs made, so I'm kind of picky. If you have something that you think may be of interest, please let me know. I don't know a LOT of coins, but I know what I like when I see it.
  19. Hmmm..now that's the big question isn't it? Do they spell anything? And if so, what?
  20. Parents of SAM and AtlantaGal, glad they arrived and you like them. We were very happy with Georgia and her help in getting these done. Keewee01, several people bought multiples of the LEs, perhaps for trades. Check trading lists or contact those that you know purchased them..or just request. I must say the Antique Copper turned out excellent, it's my personal favorite.
  21. We at GeoCoins.net have released the first in a series of geocoins called Geocoins Through The Ages. These coins are available through the links below (at GeoCoins.net store). Price is $9.00 each and shipping is based on weight except for International, where shipping is a flat $6.00 for any amount of coins ordered. Yes, this makes single coins purchases expensive, so order multiple coins for groups. The coins are trackable at Geocaching.com and has it's own icon Coin Specifications: * Length - 1.75" * Width - 7/8" * Trackable at Geocaching.com * Unique Icon Antique Copper - Sold out Black Nickel - Sold out Foggy Gold Foggy Silver
  22. I don't understand this back button issue. It works fine for me. Where does it not work? Yeah, it seems to work okay for me too. The back button was intentionally disabled, though the disabling only affects specific browsers. It was intentionally disabled, and was intended to be a short fix. We are currently working with a programmer to try to get a better fix so we can re-enable it for everyone. As for the copying of images, once we have an "acceptable" watermark (users will be able to vote on our site for the one they prefer), we may allow the copying of images again. The problem is when we are given, or we take pictures ourselves and people use them without permission, it is theft. I took many of the pics myself (I believe including the Team Lightning Bugs coin), and many were given to us by paying members. They took the pictures and emailed them to us with full permission to use them. Can it be stopped? Nope, but it can be slowed down, and the right click disable is another little thing we can do to help prevent it. As has been stated in the past, and taken up by at least one cacher, if you ask for images without the watermark, we'll give them to you. Of course, if you ask for the whole collection, that's another story. If you need an image or two it's not a problem. It would be appreciated if you state the images are courtesy of GeoCoins.net (not necessarily copyright because we don't own the rights to ALL the images there, just the rights to use them). But if we supply you with an image, it would be appreciated if you were to let people know where you got it. With any luck, we can remove the back button limitations soon, but programming is a tricky issue as any programmer can tell you. And time frames change constantly. I hope this post answers any and all questions you may have, but if not, please feel free to ask either here, on our forums or via email. I may not get back into this thread though as the name isn't a big draw for me. I only found it now because I was looking for something to do...looks like I found it! Brian aka Haughton
