Add question on roughly the same subject- If you remove the log, does you cache find count correctly reduce by 1 If you find/log a cache, which has the co-ord changed slightly (cache move in diff location) and you then re-find cache at new loc - will you found count show a count of 1 or 2 against that cache

If you double log a find does it add two your counter

Strange - I don't use a ad-blocker (have my own mental blocker), but at the moment I'm not seeing any ads, just a thin blue bar with yahoo ad at the end -
I think it's simple, to have the cache listed you agree that you've obtained permission, and if an issue arises with the cache you'll be asked to provide evidence of the permission inorder to continue having the cache details listed. Definition of permission could be anything - written, verbal, signed in blood All those with 100's of caches out there - prison sentence

Wouldn't it of been better for the cacher to be honest with the bill on what he was doing and promise to let the owner know of the cache location issues

Tragic accidents close together probable down to a freak of nature, but not a reason to temporary disable the cache. As with any outdoor activity you weigh up the risks, weather conditions, what equipment you need before you set out and stick to what you're capable with. Personally I wouldn't go up Helvellyn at this time of year, but that's because I have no experience of ice walking and none of special equipment that any senseable person would use. Moote - you need a better name for your 'Working Title' (GCVY6H) cache

To Groundspeak: Permission to set up RSS feed for geocachers
lakeuk replied to MagicTyger's topic in Website
I'm sure (quite rightly) action would be taken if scraping was noticed, but they wouldn't be able to notice Joe Blogg's doing this, he'd just look like any other non-member person accessing the website Unless he has the same IP address. I'm sure GS logs all IP addresses. logging the IP address would make no difference as the amount of traffic used would be the same as an ordinary user - how would you differentiate the two? -

So in other words, never mind that it's against the T&C and you could get your account banned for life, but here's how you do it?!?! I've not stated how to do it, meally stated a tool that's designed to generate rss from an ordinary webpage - you'd still need to work out how to do it for yourselve The T&C is clear so doesn't need debating, but it's only enforceable against a registered member of site, there's nothing to stop non-member Joe Bloggs doing it -

a side the T&C issue, it is easily possible to generate RSS feeds for geocaching using Yahoo Pipes. I was shocked at how easy it makes it - http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/ -

I wouldn't count on BBC's listen again service, 2 mths ago they had major issues which are still not fully sorted out - local radios links a low down the pecking order, just tried 'The Nine O'Clock Show... ' listen again link and it doesn't work.

should be able to see it everywhere apart from Scotland (unless you have Sky or Freesat box)

Caching on Radio Lancashire tomorrow
lakeuk replied to PopUpPirate's topic in United Kingdom and Ireland
They're probable just trying to cover all bases, have someone local and have someone 'they' consider official represents caching. A work colleague supports Blackpool who's been asked a couple of times and they seem to include others just incase they have problems. Will be interesting what the presenter Tony Livesey of 'Daily Sport' fame (no I've not read it) makes of it all. -
I quite enjoy reading any log on my cache at the moment as some logs mention the local naked rambler, currently spotted 3 times - if only you could award bonus points.
